It was a real shame that Fred never got the defence right. We were very blessed with real talent in midfield and up front but that leaky defence was the stuff of nightmares. Scoring four at Scunthorpe and Doncaster and drawing, three one up at Preston and drawing, It made for great entertainment but it was a tough watch when we kept conceding.

I have just looked the figures up. Our top scorer in the league in 81/82 was shared by two or three players with 8 league goals. By contrast, Francis Joseph had reached eight goals by 9th October In 1982/83. A total turnaround in front of goal. A wonderful striker who with more luck on the injury front would have easily graced a higher division with distinction. My favourite ever bees player. I have a pic taken with him in the Royal Oak pub in 2017 after a game and it has pride of place indoors.

Just watched "The World's most dangerous roads" with Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling, very uplifting and quite moving in parts as Chris talks about his battle with Apraxia and the racism he and his family suffered on the estate they lived on in Middlesbrough and whilst playing for Portsmouth in 1975 away at Sunderland he and his Pompey team mates went into a pub after the game and the barman refused to serve him, "We don't serve your kind in here"!. Am I right in thinking Kammy was the first black player to play for The Bees?

Couldn’t agree more, no personality can’t see the point of him being there. Should look for a complete new panel sometimes they are talking all at once and a certain member has to be the centre of attention all the time.

They had a big shake up. That's what led to the rubbish it's become.

I wouldn't go back if I were Kammy. I suspect half the fun he used to have was because of the people he was working with.

Well done, Kammy, for your brave solo and for helping Lesly Garrett organise the 'Bantoms of the opera' choir for the final game of the season, which was won, gaining Bradford promotion, in the final seconds of the game. What a heart-rending occasion, especially in the context of the 40th anniversary of the tragic fire and Bradford's success as Culture City of the year.

BBC Radio Leeds - Bantam of the Opera, Bantams perform during promotion match

The choir performed a rendition of the club's anthem 'Take Me Home' at Valley Parade.

It was quite fitting that Bradford scored an injury time winner to secure promotion!

And I hadn't realised that Kammy was actually assistant manager there at the time of the fire, becoming their manager during the following season, a season in which he got them promoted as well!
