Clyde Wijnhard

This would be a great signing if he signs.

I have always liked CW, just offers a presence upfront and i can remember him scoring a few good goals for Darlington.

Lets hope he impresses LR

To be fair we have seen loads of players come on trial and leroy is yet to offer a contract to a mug. I will stand by whatever decision he makes.

My first opinion is that he is just another 32 year old journeyman who has a poor goalscoring record behind him and is unlikely to offer more than 10 goals a season. I would have a look at him but not offer a contract unless he really shows smething special.

I hope to be proved wrong.

My Oldham source tells me this about Mr Wijnhard.

"He's big and a handfull. Quite skilfull. Prone to going missing in games and appearing lazy. Wouldn't like to see his name on the opponents team sheet though."

Clyde Wijnhard

I'm not sure why a few people have mentioned his poor goalscoring record ... 63 goals in 174 starts in english league football seems pretty impressive to me!

Wonder of LR is getting ready in case we win tomorrow night and bag a payday third round tie??

Could also be certain players are heading for loan moves before the months' out...in no particular order..Rhodes, Mousinho, Fitz and Willock...

Clyde Wijnhard

Could be the short-term big lump that Leroy is looking for. I've always thought he looked a decent player and has to be worth a punt. Time to shift a few out on loan though, I mean, we have to balance the books don't we?

Clyde Wijnhard

Where is Tony Rougier now, you ask.

We realy need some height up front on saturday we seemed to put a lot of crosses in hopfully LR can get the right man in to finish this crosses off.

Clyde Wijnhard

As he's a trialist, I imagine he's not eligible to play for us tonight, is he?

I'm sure triallists can play but we'd have to pay him. And is he match fit?

I remember Graeme Souness played the George Weah cousin as a triallist for 10 minutes and hauled him off at Blackburn.

Clyde Wijnhard

Oh, thanks for explaining that to me, durrr!

I still don't think a goal every three games is good for a striker. ... One goal for every 270 minutes played.... 15 goals a season ... not great is it?

Actually, it's not bad. Keegan and Dalglish, for example, had that sort of scoring record for Liverpool.

Clyde Wijnhard

Who is Fitz going to be loaned out to now ?
A Sunday league side ? :fishing:

Saw an AFC Wimbledon fan on the train on the way back from the game on Saturday. Said that Fitz's loan was finished... and that he looked "like a donkey" when he played for them.

So he's not even good enough for the Ryman...

But he was good enough for Martin Allen and thats what counts :)

I can assure you he is not starting up front tonight! Cox and Kuffour will start with Brooker and Tomlin in wide roles and Mousinho in holding role.
Big game for JM but with Pinault so slow he never goes forward and his midfield holding role partner is expected to be box to box which JM aint. So I predict he will be substituted soon after half time with one of the CW's coming on and Cox reverting to midfield. KOC looks like starting centre half poss alongside Heywood but MH sat out training yersterday and AG has still got dead leg problems.
Rhodes has a back strain so may not even make the bench.

Clyde Wijnhard

i reckon we will sign him now that moors going to get a 3 game ban

Clyde Wijnhard

We need him to be honest.

I'd personally offer him a 3 month pay-as-you-play deal. Means if he's no good we can get rid in January and stick with Owusu. If he scores 7ish between now and Christmas then that's great and then give him an extension to the end of the season.

Reserve team football is not the answer. It is not the place to get used to playing. It is played at a snails pace with little tackling and even Brooker would look good in a reserve game. Better to loan to conference sides

Clyde Wijnhard

I guess it's safe to assume we won't see Mr C Wijnhard tomorrow as he has not been registered? :fishing:

Clyde Wijnhard

Surely he would play a few games for free to prove himself..............

Clyde Wijnhard

Welcome to the best team in the world clyde! Good luck score some goals!:sorted:

Clyde Wijnhard

May prove to be useful particularly in the short term, but I guess with most things time will tell.

Clyde Wijnhard

Could prove to be a very good signing indeed, if Leroy can get the best out of him. If it doesn't work out, we say .

By the way anyone know how you pronounce his name? I haven't a fecking clue!
