I'd add Huddersfield and MK Dons but Notts County are more likely to be nearer the bottom than the top!

Just got a funny feeling that MA could work a bit of magic.....(sat next to him at Wembley and he terrified me!)

Quite interesting really as a number of pundits seem to think that Notts County will be the surprise team of League 1. Personally can't see it, but maybe it's the MA syndrom, or maybe I have missed something that's happened up there.

Reading through some people seem to have put exter city and bmuff up in top half, doubt either will be top half. Both have lost lots of keys players and haven't replaced them with quality. Top 6, hudders, charlton, brentford, MK dons, Carlisle (them being my bet for dark horse), wednesday which order I don't know. Sheff united will think there too big and will struggle as a result the lesser teams in the league will want to perform and play harder to beat them. And preston there squad lacks qaulity same with scunny.

I agree on pornmuff. Being a resident in pornmuff, theres a feeling that they arent going to do well this season, they have a chairman who seems to be in the local rag on a daily basis sticking his nose in on team affairs etc. Even a suggestion that Bradbury is out of his depth, and the club haemorraghing players from last season, with little quality replacing them. They arent an optimistic bunch down here!

CRUNCH TIME

I thought the league was poor last season and apart from Brighton, Southampton and Huddersfield, nobody stood out. Not like 09/10 when the top 6 were streets ahead of the rest. But for our manager, we could and should have finished in the top six and squandered many a chance during the season to cement our claim (the crap start, the disaster that was January, Notts and Swindon home). Really dissapointing.

But I think this season, the division is potentially weaker. We can by no means afford to underestimate anybody but we should really be looking at the top 6 this time around. Charlton have splashed the cash but a huge amount of doubt still lies over their manager, the Sheffield clubs are in turmoil and looking at their squads we should expect to beat them (Wednesday will surely struggle). Huddersfield will be up there.. can't see them 'doing a Swindon'. We CAN win this league.

One thing that won't change lack of mainstream media coverage.

According to Ceefax earlier it's just The Championship and SPL playing tomorrow.

Shocking ignorant reference to Uwe by Dave Jones on Sky's Football League Weekend last night along the lines that he had just finished as a player and had not done his badges to coach/manage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an idiot... Remind me is this the same unemployed Dave Jones who's Cardiff team choked everytime they get anywhere near promotion.
Uwe will silence him and plenty of other critics this season I for one have been very impressed with what I have seen so far :) COYR

........so a reality check in the last 7 days....

Has it affected where you think that we will finish this season??

CRUNCH TIME

I didnt make a forecast as to where we would finish but we need to address the goals for column and play offs become a possibility. I cant see us finishing in the top two. I wasnt jumping from the rooftops when we beat Yeovil and wasnt too depressed losing on saturday. Uwe will have a much clearer picture in his head after 8-10 games and as ever i am cautiously optimistic.

Wise words indeed....

Early days, maybe a reality check will turn out to be good thing in the longer term given the success of pre season which can always be misleading. Hereford was dissapointing but typical of a cup tie, SU away might turn out to be our hardest game of the season.

The next three games are ones we should be picking up serious points if we are going to be a contender so lets wait until after Tranmere.

Keep the faith.

Tomorrow could be tricky - they will be desperate to spoil the occassion.

I can see a sending off - but Bees taking all three points after a hard fought scrap.
