Great to read. Sounds a bit like Schade and having them either side of Thiago could change the way we play completely. Having Dango and Schade with pace and who can both play through the middle, it’ll give us lots of options!

Like most signings, it will take Dango a while to fully comprehend our system, but his experience of playing in the PL and his enthusiasm to do well will give him a good start. Having x3 strikers who are able to play any position across the front line, all who are capable of playing at pace with an ability to be strong when competing for headers, and can interchange positions within the game should give us a much bigger threat, especially if the coaching team can get them to gel reasonably quickly. We should be patient, but we are gradually becoming a much stronger, and more capable, team with less reliance on certain individuals. I hope we see him at some stage against Villa.

At some stage? After watching the forward line at the weekend I think he has to be thrown straight in.

I think so too - however i think Andrews is going to play it very much like Thomas did and will stand by his choices. He rarely threw anyone in at any stage, subs fairly late. I bet he gets 20 minutes.

watching the first half Sunday it didnt look like anyone comprehended the system ,he'll be fine !

I may have missed this information earlier, but having checked Bournemouth’s preseason games Dango was involved in, at least, five of them. Three of them were as part of the PL series in the USA, so he shouldn’t be lacking any fitness and should be PL match ready which is reassuring.

He's probably fitter than our established players who barely had pre-season time

Putting my optimist hat on, I'm hoping Thiago will look much better with two athletic and quick players either side, unlike on Sunday, and a brilliant passer supplying them from behind in Damsgaard, also very different to Sunday.
By Saturday night we'll have a much better idea of the merits of this revamped team. I don't think Villa are necessarily a better team than Forest this season, plus we have home advantage.

I think that's fair optimism tho. We didn't sign Thiago to be a one man band up front (which he was against Forest). He was signed to complement the players around him and score goals. Thiago received no service whatsoever last weekend and was spotted in defence at times, just trying to get involved.

Season starts Saturday as far as i'm concerned.

Good debut - obviously scoring within 12 minutes helps but he was also doing a lot of defensive work to help Kayode.

Once he has a bit more time with the squad I think he'll take it up another notch and could be a huge crowd favourite.

As debuts go that was as good as one could have hoped, noting he probably hasn't had much game time recently. Thought his turn of pace for the goal was superb and defensively as you noted was excellent.

Will only get better and better.

Great debut. His goal will be what’s talked about and rightly so but what stood out to me was his defensive contribution. Bryan was a phenomenal goalscorer but also worked ridiculously hard, Dango had that same work rate today and did an excellent job winning the ball back on numerous occasions. Pleasantly surprised he lasted 84 minutes, worked his socks off.
