Dango Ouattara

Dango is a year older and has played 150 career games and scored 25 goals including a Premier League hat trick. He's got 40 International caps.

We played the summer market price imo.

OK ,some of got a downer on him , so I just searched for will he ever be as good as Semenyo

Dango Ouattara has the potential to match or exceed Antoine Semenyo's impact, particularly if utilized in advanced or "out of position" striker roles, as suggested by recent FPL analysis and discussions. While Semenyo currently boasts higher shot volume and more consistent, direct play, Ouattara offers a strong, versatile option with high expected goal involvement (xGI).

  • Key Comparison Metrics:
    • Antoine Semenyo: Known as a key, high-volume shooter with, as of early 2025, higher goal/assist numbers. He has been described as a "nailed" starter with significant attacking threat.
    • Dango Ouattara: Positioned as a "differential" with significant potential, especially when playing as a striker ("out of position" in fantasy terms). He is considered to have high potential, with some, as per this Reddit post, noting his physical advantages and improving form as a central threat.
  • Potential for Parity:
    • Versatility: Ouattara has shown ability to excel in both wing and central positions, offering more flexibility.
    • Physicality: Some observers believe Ouattara's strength and physical profile could lead to more consistent, dangerous opportunities, potentially making him as effective as Semenyo, as mentioned in this Reddit post.
    • Form: If Ouattara maintains a consistent starting role and improves his finishing to match his high xGI, he can certainly be as good as, or even better than, Semenyo, as suggested by discussions in this Reddit thread.
Ultimately, while Semenyo is currently more proven in terms of output, Ouattara's trajectory and role make him a serious contender to reach a similar, or potentially greater, level of performance.

He's also two years younger

Bobb is a graduate of Manchester City's academy and made 61 appearances for the senior side, scoring 13 and assisting 27 across all competitions." BBC
What is this?

Bobb has 1 PL goal and 2 PL assists.

Most of the goals/ assists referred to above have been in the U18s or PL2.

Dango is an established international with a better PL scoring and assist record than Bobb.

Would you really take seriously what AI said? I asked it a few weeks ago how many games Norgaard had played for Arsenal and it said 'None, he plays for Brentford.' When I pointed out he'd left Brentford last year for Arsenal, it agreed I was right. So I asked it again how many games Norgaard had played for Arsenal and it said 'None, he plays for Brentford.'
It's like having a very dumb mate.

Dango gets a G/A every 149 minutes.

Excellent return so far for his first BFC season.

From the Muff forum

"wish that he still played for us. The most disappointed I’ve been in an outgoing transfer in recent years. A quality player leaving not because a bigger club came in for him, but because he was fed up of not being played in his best position."

The consensus of most Muff fans is that he was inconsistent but had huge potential. Sounds like a Brentford signing.

Seriously good finish! Always a danger in behind against teams that don’t sit deep.

No one was going to stop that one today but let's not forget the previous one he put wide.... That's not a criticism by the way a player has to get in the position to miss, I like what I see in Dango and he will only get better

Dango Ouattara

You can't argue he generates results. His game today was not great, he looked a bit rusty, and out of sync with Kayode. He also had a missed chance before (offside, yes, but he shoots wide)
But of course, he made the splash when it counted. With Shade out for a couple of games, the team really needs him in form

I said Bournemouth were mugs to get rid of him and he’s proving a fantastic buy even at that amount of cash.
A 23 year-old forward with the physical attributes and versatility to play at wing-back and right across the front three.

With already 5 years of top-flight experience across France and England and a full international when we signed him. Was banging hattricks for AFCB in the PL! As you say, weird for them to let him go.

It’s all relative in terms of transfer fees but for what we got, smart business. Strand Larsen will cost Palace more.

Whist the team will get the plaudits for a great second half defensive display, that goal was a quality finish.
Think Dango is also excellent in defensive phases. He might not (yet) have the consistent attacking output Bryan had towards the end, but his all-round contribution is excellent - which is key for a non-top-6 team, and I think we look much better when he's on the pitch. Think a lot of people (and I certainly do) forget he's only 23, the best is definitely yet to come.

I think where a lot of mid-table clubs go wrong is moving away from attackers who defend well to targeting attackers who might be better one on one, have better goal scoring stats etc - but can't defend for toffee or just can't be bothered to. Carry one or two of those in your side and you'll just slide back into relegaton candidates. Instead, we've got the likes of Thiago / Schade / Ouattara in who all provide quality in all phases, give us a really solid floor, and allow us to show the consistent progression we've shown.

Transfer fee doesn't really matter to me - we're not up against FFP limits so it's not as if spending more on this guy meant we weren't able to afford someone else. If we want to spend more on someone else we can and will.

The slippery eel done good again.

He’ll get better and better no doubt ..

Sky MoM.

Dango Ouattara

Magnificent display. Still young, 42m will be a bargain if he finds more consistency. He was excellent in the reverse fixture, even better today.

Dango Ouattara

Great today, outstanding first time finish for the winner.

Dango Ouattara

At moments today he looked like he was floating on air down that wing. I can’t recall how many times have we played him on the left? He just seems more potent on that side

Dango Ouattara

He was a proper handful today. Starting to look a real player.

Dango Ouattara

5 goals and 5 assists for the season.

Looking like another top quality piece of business.

Did we have any Dango Doubters on here? Or was it all on X?

This post Forest effort will go down as a classic of the genre.

He's rather poor overall, offers very little threat and is wasteful in good situations. A great pity he is preferred to the hugely talented Romelle Donovan.

Turning into another gem of a signing by the club. Yes for us he was mighty expensive but the club could see his potential and while others may have dithered on whether to sign him we just got it done.

His two footed attributes are a real asset as the first goal assist showed.
