Dango Ouattara

Incredibly disrespectful to those associated with Brentford FC. An FA Cup run on the line and he thinks it’s a great idea to attempt a Panenka in a penalty shooutout that ultimately decides who advances. He can f*** right off.

Dango Ouattara

I was cheesed off at the time that he chose to take a panenka style penalty but these comments are ridiculous , he wont do it again presumably in a match that important . draw a line under it

I think Dango has drawn a line under it🐝

Just had a look and there’s at least half a dozen more vile racist comments, abhorrent. Hopefully the club call this out directly but nothing will change so long as the big social media firms turn a blind eye to it. They need locking up

To late now tho our best chance ever to go
Deep in the FA CUP and he blew it

Dango Ouattara

If we want to push on this season we need to support Dango on the pitch and not get on his back.

It was sh*t and annoying but he looked knackered tbh so who knows what was going through his head.

We forgave Trotta and it worked out.

Now that I’ve calmed down, I realise I let my anger get the best of me, which I can have a hard time with dealing on occasion. I am sorry 👍

Dango Ouattara

I’m just wondering what kind of comments we will get from those current damning Dango for his efforts tonight when he scores or assists in the next upcoming games.

It’s happened. It’s extremely frustrating. And everyone is entitled to their opinion, within reason. But we can’t change it.

So the best thing we can now do is to show him our support.

Dango Ouattara

Unforgivable frankly. Utter disgrace. 🤬

But what can you do ! 🤦‍♂️

Hoepfully he makes up for it in the remaining games. Not sure how !!! 😢

Dango Ouattara

Unfortunately for him there’s nothing to learn for. We’re out the cup and he won’t be taking a penalty again for a long time. No issue with having a pen saved, sh*t happens, but the manner in which he missed was embarrassing.
Because we'll never play a cup game again? 🙄

It was a sh*t penalty. I'm sure he knows it as much as everyone else. We need to get behind him next week.

Brentford head coach Keith Andrews:

"I'm not annoyed at all. The easiest thing for a footballer to do is to not take a penalty. It takes unbelievable courage on a stage like that to take a penalty.

"I despise the culture around players that have missed penalty kicks. We're talking about national heroes who have done it. They have been ridiculed, persecuted. I think it's disgusting.

"It takes serious courage to do that [take a penalty]. He practices that technique a lot. If it goes in, everyone's raving about him. So Dango will get the absolute support he needs from us and everybody attached to him."

Dango Ouattara

So many racist comments on Instagram, can't believe what i'm reading. It's utterly disgusting.

On the penalty itself, I mentioned to my dad before he took it that I wouldn't have him on penalty 2.... but didn't expect that.

Chin up Dango, real Brentford fans have your back.

agree with everything Keith has said here other than this, I know I'm not a coach (for good reason) but if I saw a player repeatedly take panenkas in training I would ask them not to try that in an important cup shootout

The abuse dango is receiving online is abhorrent but hopefully/presumably not from bees fans

I’m supporting Dango

But that technique was f***ing awful. It was so telegraphed that Even stevie wonder would have saved it

wasn’t the fact he missed, it was a sh*t pen. The good work against villa and Newcastle but a distant memory. He needs to make amends with more goals and assists.

Dango Ouattara

I don’t attach any blame to Dango. He took a risk, he failed.

I am amazed that after Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbuemo, we don’t train all our penalty takers to follow the same method of letting the keeper commit before deciding which side to go

My take - he tried, the keeper didn't move, he then made a bad choice.

Dango Ouattara

He really looked like our danger man particularly early on and was Instrumental in both our goals. The West Ham fans around me were worried every time he was on the ball.

The penalty was obviously ill conceived but he was responsible for a lot of the chances we created.

Surely you only go to the Panenka if you are convinced the keeper will commit early. If the keeper doesn’t commit, it has to be bottom corner

unfortunately it will be. These people are vile. The club would be better off without them. They're cowards getting off on posting abuse. Effectively Wa****s !

Dango Ouattara

Having been very vocal in my immediate response to what happened, perhaps too vocal for some, here’s my final thoughts:

his goals against Villa and Newcastle were sublime, which makes tonight all the more ridiculous. He’s a young man and needs to learn opportunities like tonight don’t come around a lot. KA’s response was very measured, as to be expected. He’s still relatively new too and until he builds some sort of longevity and accomplishes something with us, needs to continue endearing himself, which tonight didn’t. As harsh a learn curb as they come. But he isn’t Romelle at 19, he’s 24 with premier league experience.

I hope he’s as furious with himself as we all are, and that will spur him on to make amends and finish the season strongly. Clearly a top talent, who after a fairly good game has let himself down

I’d be surprised if, in his time at the club, we have a more comfortable route to an FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley than this season.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t get behind him, of course we should, but it’s not really a situation of “oh well at least he’ll learn his lesson”. His stupidity cost as a very good chance at Wembley, and that’s not exactly something that can just be rectified and forgotten about with a goal against Wolves.

But if he wants to make up for it I’m all for a few MOTM performances to take us to Europe…

Dango Ouattara

Over 120 minutes we probably shouldn't have had to rely on Dango's pen although that's all people will remember unfortunately.

It was bloody awful. In contrast the Hammers players went for power & precision & gave Kelleher little chance.

It's gone & done. We need to get behind the lad now as him firing is very important for the run in.

Any so called Bees fan posting vile abuse towards the player should receive an automatic ban from the club for life. They are not wanted anywhere near our club stinking rhe place out.

What cost us was not winning in the 90, not a poor decision by an otherwise creditable player.

I agree we should’ve done better in the 90, hence why had Dango taken the penalty properly and been denied I’d have laid no criticism towards him (for what it’s worth I thought he had a decent game). It’s just the manner of the miss that doesn’t sit right - a panenka in a game like that takes the piss really, and had it been the other way round, like Le Fee in January, we’d have been slaughtering the West Ham player for their arrogance and disrespect.

Dango Ouattara

Before we slate him do we know that panenka pens are more or less likely to be converted?

Or are we going to forgive a player that smashes it and misses just because it doesn't look as bad?
Very true..one of their players smashed it but luck on his side it smashed the crossbar and went in..fine margins unfortunately all of us are gutted but we move on ..onwards and upwards..🐝

Dango Ouattara

Laughable attempt.

Dango Ouattara

It was just bloody stupid, end of.

Far too many players just baffle themselves with Science with penalties. West Ham showed that if you hit your penalties hard, in either side, no keeper will ever save them.

Still annoyed this morning with it, as I doubt we'll ever have an easier chance of a FA cup SF. Having said that, we weren't great throughout and a lot have forgotten two worse mistakes that led to their 2 goals.

Dango Ouattara

He made a decision to take that kind of penalty, it was a poor attempt, but he got the ball on target and the keeper had to make the save.
I would have been more p*ssed off if he didnt hit the target.
It happens.
He was one of our better players last night, causing issues (particularly in the first half) and it integral to the way we play.
He will move on from it, the club will move on from it, others need to do the same - and quickly.
