So who else listened to the kerb crawler on 5 Live whilst driving home last night? If so I hope you liked his comment about Luton's fans being a friendly bunch. What a to55er that man is.

They are one of the worst behaved bunch of supporters in the land.

And they got what they deserved when Millwall carried out ground improvements.

David Pleat

He said (twice) that they are fair-minded. I was immediately reminded of the way they boo-ed Danny Boxall as he was stretchered off the field when he did his cruciate ligaments. The worst reaction I think I have ever encountered from supporters to a serious injury. I'd put them amongst the least fair-minded supporters.

Pleat knows an awful lot about football, but next to nothing about people

David Pleat

up to his tricks againt last night calling Clichy Cliche like 'its a cliche but' and Riquelme Raquelme

David Pleat

..always Bleating....................

David Pleat

another classic from the kerb crawler, Abra-movich is in the stands...

David Pleat + ITV coverage in general = :zzzzz: :zzzzz: :zzzzz: :zzzzz: :zzzzz:

...mind those paving stones...................

The ultimate Pleat gaffe is featured in the film version of Fever Pitch . . .

"It'd be fitting if Arsenal could get a result on the last day even though they're not to win it (the title)"

The other night he said . . .

"Angola would win more fans if they conceded more goals"

Don't like Pleat but he is 10 times the commentator Mark Bright will ever be.

Aaaah same, so critical, and just alround sh*te, Mark Bright that is!!

David Pleat

I wish Pleat would do us all a favour and take a F*ck off tablet.

Actually thought his coment when the Dutch guy with the longest name I have ever seen came on. Something like "Portugal will want him booked just to waste another 2 minutes writing his name".
His tactical view on the games are also far better than Southgate and many others imho, albeit extremely boring.

He's got more insight into the players than all the rest put together - yes, he's dull but he knows his stuff. :sorted:

Pleat is an easy target because of his voice and the kerbcrawling stuff way back when. But of all the pundits on TV, radio and in the press, I don't think there's any better than Pleat when it comes to (a) knowing his stuff and (b) explaining it in easy terms. The only one who comes close is Martin O'Neill, but he's a bit wordy and Gary Lineker always interrupts him.

Do you honestly believe he's better than Trevor Francis? :fishing:

lol Martin O'Neill is a rambling mentalist who often forgets what his original point is.

Blimey, that's spot on Chappers !

David Pleat

I spotted that also as well as Martin Jol (pn. 'j' as in jug) instead of Martin Jol (pn. 'j' as in you)

Also liked the comment about when George Costa the Braga coach played at Charlton and they had a back four that read Young, Fish, Costa, Fortune. Had a bit of a ring to it !

David Pleat

David Pleat: "Evening all"

That makes me laugh everytime I hear him say that at the beginning of each match.

He knows his sh*t though. :sorted:

David Pleat

David Pleat: "The only thing bright about Braga is their shirts" lol

David Pleat

He's one of the good guys and thats rare in football tv these days.

I can't understand the piss taking of him over foreign names. It's a traditional British trait to attempt to pronounce foreign words and get them hopelessly wrong, we've been doing it for centuries. :D

David Pleat

Motson's a legend at that Tore-Andre Flu. Plus Aarron Lennon and he's English.

David Pleat

In the world cup he was kite (like the flying type) and now he seems to be what I can only describe as a german trying to say in English someone caught something.

David Pleat

Pleat talks more sense than most of the other commentators put together....

David Pleat

David Pleat is an absolute spunktrumpet :sorted:

Was calling the UEFA Cup "yoofa" this evening. :crazy2:

Dutch football when he was with Feyenoord I'm sure they called him more like Koyt. I tend to say that or Kite most of the time I think

David Pleat

Bennynoon
:sorted:

last night he also said that Liverpool were sending out a warning to Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea....
interesting :nutty:

but i agree, he knows his stuff, he just occassionally doesn't quite say it right :D

David Pleat

He's like your dad, you know what he's saying is right it just sounds wrong (and he gets foreigners names wrong)

David Pleat

My dad has never visited prostitutes. I think.

David Pleat

Have you checked? Has he ever run across a football pitch and make a fool of himself on tv? Many on here can say yes to that one :D
