Anyone know where these N'sL games are televised. Would like to see the Spain game today in the hope DR plays ?
Apparently it is on BoxNation, which is part of Sky's Premier Sports Pack, if you have that.Anyone know where these N'sL games are televised. Would like to see the Spain game today in the hope DR plays ?
If he has a good World a cup then your figures are miles out. It’s his last season with us so let’s enjoy him before we decide to move him on to the highest bidder, either Jan or next summer. Can’t see us getting more then £20 Million for him, so it may be a case of getting the purse out for a well deserved bumper contract and convincing him we have european aspirations.
David, Rico, Nørgaard & Toney are the players who deserve what ever it was we were gonna throw at Eriksen.
We’ve got Strakosha and Cox, so can definitely stomach cutting ties, but I think we’d all prefer if he stayed. Saved us in so many games already this season.
I suspect this will anger Strakosha. I'm sure he only signed cos we told him DR was going to leave nearer to his contract running out ...Can’t see us getting more then £20 Million for him, so it may be a case of getting the purse out for a well deserved bumper contract and convincing him we have european aspirations.

We will not pick up another GK of David Raya's ability immediately. Strakosha is his current replacement while we wait a while for COX to get up to speed. We will be OK just need a little patience required. On the bench....
Not sure if this was meant to be in reply to my comment, but I was just making the point that DR was on the bench for tonight’s game between Spain and Switzerland……We will not pick up another GK of David Raya's ability immediately. When I have watched B team games with Cox he scares the life out of me, particularly on crossesWe will not pick up another GK of David Raya's ability immediately. As I said, a little patience is required, in the meantime we have an adequate replacement in Straksha. It may finally be Cox, however, eventually it may turn out to be someone else. Cox would appear to be the 'Golden Boy' at the moment that's all. When I have watched B team games with Cox he scares the life out of me, particularly on crosses
seems a long long way off PL standard at the moment.
Sorry about that, I think I should have been another post or several as I can see but not yours!!Not sure if this was meant to be in reply to my comment, but I was just making the point that DR was on the bench for tonight’s game between Spain and Switzerland……
As @rebus said. Let’s hope he has a fantastic World Cup.
In the perfect world, the keeper that makes the final save the wins Spain’s first ever World Cup.
It is OK to dream? £££
Opps. My bad. I would like to say short term memory better. I would be wrong ???It would have to be a dream seeing as Spain won the world cup in 2010
Hold on. I'm sure Spain have won it.As @rebus said. Let’s hope he has a fantastic World Cup.

See post 2215. The idiot fell on his sword ?Hold on. I'm sure Spain have won it.
Maybe time for Strakosha to step up and give him a rest. However as he’s been missing since International duties I can only assume he’s injured as he’s not featured on the bench. His error against Leeds last season annoyed me more than his error today but was very similar. Just thinking if this is Raya's last season with us not sure which top club in the PL will sign him. Maybe Spurs with Loris turning 36 this year?

I probably wouldn't drop him this side of the World Cup but if as everyone says this is his last season, I really would want Strakosha to get game time post the World Cup.
Be careful what you wish for...I have never understood some of our fan's obsession about Raya being a great keeper who should be playing for Spain.
He has made some amazing saves to keep us in the game, yet every major keeper does that in the Premier League - but he is flawed by his amazing distribution of the ball .......to our opposing players.
I think we missed a trick when we didn't go for Pope or Henderson when they were available. Two who were willing to go anywhere either due to their desire to stay in the PL or play as a first teamer..
Don't get me wrong. I still pinch myself that we are playing in the Premier League, but I hope he isn't next season ... well at least not for us.
I hope we start using more of Strakosha or get someone new in the transfer market.
I also hope we lose the Scandinavian tourist guide when searching for additions to the squad in the next few transfer windows.
Maybe lose Mbeumo too.
Pope?!I have never understood some of our fan's obsession about Raya being a great keeper who should be playing for Spain.

Nick Pope - he was one of the exodus from Burnley when they were relegated.Pope?!
Probably one of the least insightful posts in the history of the GPG.I have never understood some of our fan's obsession about Raya being a great keeper who should be playing for Spain.

He has played well so far for NCL in the games I have seen on TV.

Like signing an international GK, with bags of experience at the top end of Serie A and the Champions League?Firstly, I have seen many insightful posts on GPG over the years, the post above doesn't even come in the top 50.
I don't think anyone really is asking Raya to be dropped but if all the indications is that he is leaving in the summer or before then we need some succession planning. Raya f***ed up today for the 2nd goal, it's a fact and as he did against Leeds last season and previously for us in the Championship (notably that game against Stoke) so posters should be allowed to post their views/ comments. Equally, he has won us many games. My own view he has overall been excellent for us but there is always an error in him.
Today was just blah for me
Post something I don’t know - succession planning in terms of giving them game time.Like signing an international GK, with bags of experience at the top end of Serie A and the Champions League?
Or maybe a young GK that has won international youth tournaments?
Thats what the cup games will be used for, and has been used for in Strakosha's case.Post something I don’t know - succession planning in terms of giving them game time.
Read above. I haven’t advocated dropping him this side of the World Cup. But if as suggested he is on the move in January or the summer and it is pretty obvious he has no intention of staying next year (as he has indicated by not signing an extension to his existing contract) then we need to consider giving playing time to those that will be with us next season. It really is quite simple.Thats what the cup games will be used for, and has been used for in Strakosha's case.
And before you add another caveat that you meant PL game time; chopping and changing goalies is no use to anyone. It lowers Raya's value, unsettles the defence and isn't exactly confidence boosting for either of the keepers.
Horribly exposed for their first and third. No chance with forth or fifth. Unfortunately that second goal really killed us today. I hate that pass. It is barely on when it is on. The risk is so high against any pressing team. I was surprised we continued to play out from the back today when Almeiron was running around after the ball like a dog in the park. We needed to go long for a bit just to push those pressers back.Poor performance from Raya today. Second goal killed us & for a keeper of his quality the first & third strikes won't please him. No question of dropping him but like many today a very poor day at the office.
Mate I’ve never forgiven you for the 1995 play off second leg against Huddersfield - I won’t even mention Bristol Rovers away ! ?Some of you are on the money. And some of you are just nuts.
Raya is an excellent keeper. No question. Bad day at the office today but he still made some good saves and his handling under pressure on crosses was outstanding.
Let’s not be so quick to slag off arguably one of the best and most consistent goalkeepers we’ve had at our club.
Agree. Just watched the highlights on YouTube. Apart from his blunder of a poor pass, I’m not sure what he could have done regarding the other goals.Horribly exposed for their first and third. On the plus side Raya's early save was world class and his handling was pretty faultless throughout.
Such action may affect the price we are seeking!Read above. I haven’t advocated dropping him this side of the World Cup. Talking of Strakosha where is he? Not on the Bench for last two games.Thats what the cup games will be used for, and has been used for in Strakosha's case.

Unfortunately it's the lonely life of the keeper that means you are defined by the errors rather than what you do well. I agree he was horribly exposed for the first & third goals & whilst they were nowhere near the category of 'Goalkeeping errors' I think a keeper of his calibre will think he at his best could have pulled off excellent saves.Horribly exposed for their first and third. Fair point and you are right to flag it. It may well be a question where we are in the table post the World Cup. But obviously not playing him will reduce his transfer fee we wound expect,Such action may affect the price we are seeking!
