After another Hugo Lloris ricket last night I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs aren't on the phone to PG at 09:00 this morning.

David Raya

Wow! Can’t believe he is having to make so many saves from outside the box. Does that mean teams are having to shoot from distance so much because our defence is so compact?
Not really, we just seem to offer up a lot of shooting opportunities. Only Everton and Fulham’s keepers have saved more shots from INSIDE the box. We’ve been traditionally slow at closing down on the edge of the box in recent years though, hence quite a few worldies going in. It’s surely a conscious thing.

Anyone got a link to the interview? (Without signing in to Sky)
No.

It's a Premier League Productions production and made available to PL TV right holders worldwide. It was first shown on BT Sport at 6pm yesterday.

So you might eventually find it somewhere. However I can promise you that there's very little, if anything, in it that would be news to you. It's more about his journey and coming to England etc. than his future intentions.

It is on Amazon Prime.. under Premier League Productions

This narrative makes me laugh... Like Benham and Giles are known for selling players on the cheap? He's arguably a top 5 keeper in the league. Really shining this season. And Chelsea are not exactly known for having tight purse strings...

David Raya

One of the things he said was how much he appreciates us fans, which in turn makes him want to do something special for us in a match.
Football player/manager in "fans are great/the best" shocker......
??

Would we be better off selling him now?
As he seems to be running his contract down so he can leave on a free
And the club gets nothing.

I don't think he's running his contract down to the end or trying to get a free move. He's been vocal about the level he wants to play at, that will peak the interest of those clubs.

I think his agent will be working in the background, the club with have a valuation for January and the summer, if these are met then thank you David for your time.

David Raya

Not long then, less than a year he can sign a pre contract with one of the top Spanish teams he wants to play for.
And we get nothing for him
A pre contract 6 months before summer 2024.

He’s going on the summer for decent money.

What’s his benefit for running it down for 18months?!?!

Frank: Brentford have no intention of selling Raya

Brentford manager Thomas Frank says he has no intention of letting goalkeeper David Raya leave the club.
The Spanish international goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham, with Raya's contract in west London set to expire in June 2024.
"All my players, I would like to hold onto them forever," said Frank after Brentford's 0-0 draw at Leeds.
"David is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He's in good form, he has everything a goalkeeper needs to have. He's ours for the next one-and-a-half years and the good thing is we have decided not to do anything for one-and-a-half years.
"They [interested clubs] will need to pay a lot of money."

Can't argue with that.....

Nothing we don't already know though really. He's our player and we want to keep him. Frank using the media to point out we don't have to sell and anyone wants him won't be on the cheap.

Someone offers a big enough fee and he'll be off - just like every player

Perfect, if you want him now you pay whatever we value him at now, suspect we will not keep him and lose him for nothing when out of contract but for now he’s not going

Large Signing on fee higher wages and probably more choices of clubs not just clubs that bid.And with only 12 months left on his deal clubs will want him cheap.

David Raya

I thought David’s decision making, especially, and execution, yesterday, was approaching perfection (in terms of defensive actions, at least). Indicative of a man right at the top of his game and absolutely brimming with self belief. He’s right in the zone, as some say (annoyingly).

David Raya

Sadly I think the question for him is should he be setting his sights higher than Tottenham, never mind comitting his eternal soul to Brentford on a career spanning contract. I wouldn't sign that either if I were him.

Obviously if he had signed we'd probably still be looking to sell just for more money, but why should he take the risk of being stuck here when the sky's the limit.

David Raya

He wants top 4, and if we can't keep him, then selling him makes the most sense. Hard to replace but I'm hoping that signing number 1's is easier quality wise than signing someone to be a backup...
