Yes probably the best striker in the world at the time (or top 3 at least) who scored 30 plus goals....no comparison..

While I'd have liked to have an extra striker available for cover, I can understand us not signing anyone. Any signing would have had to be a loan, and it's hard to get a loanee who's available, match fit, better than NP, and willing to start most games on the bench (because of Gray's form).
It is a risk, but our position in the table (and our overall form) may have made us more able to take it. While we wouldn't turn down promotion, I would guess it is seen as a relatively remote chance, so the potential loss of, for example, 4 or 5 points through lacking someone for 4 or 5 games, would probably make little difference to our long-term position (perhaps which bit of mid-table we might end up in). Were we fighting relegation, I think we couldn't take that chance

Agreed! MS is injury prone and not the player he was, COG never really rated him, TL untried. NH is the one i think on that list that could seriously do a job for us.

As Jacko said "You are not alone....." We are in the do do if that happens but another Nick Panic wouldn't change that fear. You watch Danny Graham get 4 tomorrow, that will fire up magic and his fellow bees. I'm fearful of injury to Gray, I just trust they all over this issue without success thus far.

Of course it does, but signing a striker isn't good enough, signing the right striker is what we want. Just getting a body in hasn't worked previously.
