Not much we can do about it at the moment and I'm sure we're looking at others. Judging by how Graham gone at Wolves looking like we're taking our time and being sensible!

It's hard enough bringing a striker in for any club. We make it so much more difficult because we won't just throw money at any player. He has to be the right sort of player to fit into the ethos we have as well as having a suitable character and attitude to blend into our dressing room. When the day comes when we bring a striker in, I'm sure Messrs Warburton, Benham et al won't disappoint us

We have already got another striker, Hogan, but unlikely to see him this season, unless for probably last couple of games.
So we probably need a new back-up/partner for Gray, if we are going to push to stay in top 6.
We are not going to get relegated, so it is now all about promotion ambition. Obviously, the club is on the look-out, but more likely for a loan striker for second half of the season.
Smith and Proschwitz are OK for cameo appearances, with Smith undoubtedly the better of them, but particularly can't see Proschwitz fitting in with us- and come 2015/16 season, sadly both will be past their " best before date".

Trotta isn't pulling up too many trees at Barnsley, why would we want him competing at the top end in the division above ?

Trotta has been available since May. We haven't signed him. We're not going to sign him.

Quite. Fulham don't even think he's worth a place on the bench. They see him in training every day so I suppose they should know.
By the way, the last time I went to Barnsley there weren't any trees!

The fact Trotta can't get on their bench is much more of an indicator of the enormous firepower they have in their squad than it is of his abilities IMO. Notwithstanding that though, I agree he's not the right man for us.

Not convinced that Trotta is what we need. Big Nick is coming on but has only had game time towards the end of matches. Smith loads of experience but as with Big Nick little game time. I figure that WB and his team are lining up a fast youngster who has played in division 1 or 2 with a view of coaching him to the level Gray has achieved. But, importantly, can play competitively in the Chamionship. I think WB and the owner like young players, with speed and desire. So I expect someone to come in that is not on my radar at present.

I am convinced that Trotta is not what we need. Earlier in the season I thought he might be but now we have seen just how good this team can/could be frankly he's not good enough. As to what we may be lining up it depends on what MB/MW are aiming at for the rest of the season. If we are looking at a play off spot then the type of player that you are talking about is not going to be ready to make an impact and in any case once Scott is fit we already have just that person. If we are serious about a challenge for the promotion or more realistically play off spots then there is no doubt, in my mind, that Smith and Nick are unlikely to give us the necessary firepower. Andre cannot be expected to carry the load for the whole season and with those as the only alternatives upfront we will, I think, simply run out of steam.
As I say it all depends what the owner and manager are aiming at this season. I suspect that it started out as being a mid table finish but it may be that from the current position they decide to go for it, in which case some serious money would have to be spent either on wages for a loan or a fee and wages for someone like the MK dons lad and I don't mean Grigg.

We've evolved, Andre Gray has given us pace & power and has done fantastically well, big Nick cannot play that role as he just isn't good enough to do that, but then Andre isn't going to challenge a big centre half for high balls as we don't play that way. We would I'd assume be looking for a similar type of striker to Andre.

I have every confidence in the management team and fully expect them to invest accordingly. If I was Benham and we carry on as we are, I would seriously go for it in January with decent decent striker!

I think the issue is finding one in the first place that will strengthen us rather than just come in as cover.
Callum Wilson is getting lots of attention but I don't think we lost out getting Andre, he's looking top quality at the moment.
The other young player getting rave reviews of late is Bamford and no secret we were after him as well so trust if they're out there we'll be keeping tabs.

Its all about finding the right one. Im struggling to think of one that is going to be happy bench warming. I think the club was maybe secretly hoping Grigg was going to be having a better year then what he is so far (as a back up plan).

I thought Andre had a niggling injury for a few minutes in the first half yesterday (which he ran off). I thought at the time WTF are we going to do for the rest of the game if he comes off.
It's no reflection on warburton, but there really doesn't seem to be much back up that will give the apposing defenders the same pressure?!
