It's not what we want to hear from our manager after a heavy home defeat but I don't see his comments as an excuse. However they are quite probably a legitimate reason.
He's new here as are most of his players (and I'm sure they're earning a lot less than the MK boys), they'll need time to settle in and find a way of grinding out results. We've had some good ones so far and were unlucky last week. If yesterday had finished a minute or two earlier it would only have been 2-0 and somehow not as hard to swallow.

MK Dons are not the best in the division by a street. At least if they are that is your opinion, the stats say otherwise. They are 6th having already lost this season to Bury and Rochdale.

We can make their supposed "greatness" an excuse for us making them look like world beaters or we can accept we really weren't very good yesterday and address it.

We were lucky to get a point v Mansfield who hit the woodwork several times, it took two "iffy" penalties to beat Barnet and we were supposedly battered by Bury before getting an "against the run of play" winner. We are already showing signs that we will be at the wrong end of the table and hiding behind excuses.

Things need to change at Griffin Park and fast and if that means BU putting the "for sale" sign up then it will be a price worth paying if it stops the slide into obscurity that started with their takeover.

We are broke and we do have very small playing budget so why is so much spent on wages for people who contribute so little to the club.
Hope I am wrong but the shop will not earn enough to pay the staff wages and the hospitality lounge is turning into a joke. There is no reason to come into the ground until kick off time cos catering etc is non existent. There could have been so much more down on the forecourt during these warm weather games yet all one sees is tabards and people with radios.

Thats a bit disingenuous. BU acquired the majority shareholding in January 2006 and appointed a completely new Board . Before that they had representation but since that date it has been their full responsibility and it has been downhill ever since.

Spot on. The danger of simply transcribing the PCs here is you lose some of the context the words are spoken in. You don't see the questions and you don't hear the tone of voice etc which can make a big difference.

In this instance it was very much an aside and TB was not using the budget as an excuse.

Not quite true either JT. Edmundo is right in that BU has been at the helm since 2002. If you really want to open up sore wounds ask yourself had we not bankrolled those two cup runs and two playoff places would we be in this current predicament now? Hindsight of course is a fantastic thing and am sure if many of the BU board had the ability to time travel into the future to see what an unfetterred Allen does to a club they would have been a little harder on the fella.

But it is pointless going over old ground. The trick now is to get everyone on the same side as it really is a very precarious time for the club. And that includes supporting the current management team.

The next few years is all about financial survival.

Especially so early into the season.

TB has consistently gone on about the budget since he took over, so it's no surprise that it's popped up when we've had a bad defeat.. Martin Allen did the same thing so it's nothing new..

The BFC board said that we had a 'promotion' budget so who do you believe?? Let's face it if we're forecast to lose upwards of 500k on a 'mid-table or lower' playing budget then something is going seriously wrong..

IMO, we've got the budget to get out of this division, whether we've got the players is another matter but it's something we'll find out over a few months not just one saturday afternoon..

It is the most used phrase\news when reading anything coming out of Brentford and has been for a while. All I seem to read is how broke we are and how we don't have any money. To be honest it's taken the enjoyment out of saturdays for me as there is a big shadow hanging over the club that reads 'we're fooked'. It's kind of stopped most supporters believing and more of us go to the game with the attitude that we've got no chance and we're already defeated mentally with the knives sharpening.

I'm not saying we should be naive to the money issue but I don't think we should keep rubbing it in the face of supporters who have to pay one of the highest ticket prices in the league to watch league 2 football.

We have one of the better buidgets in the league, one of the better stadiums, potentially one of the biggest supports so maybe it's time to install some belief back into the supporters.

It would be nice to see some more positive communications coming out of the club and phrases surrounding money problems being kept well away from footballing related media. Keep the money problems bit for when it's relevant. Come MR Bees PR, get this sorted

I wouldn't say that as it is still a learning curve for all of us and he surely knows better than me. He didn't see KOC under Wally but he does seem to think he has to find a place for him, the other we all know very little about.

Give TB some support - before the Wycombe game Sky had stats up about how many managers we'd had in ten years - think it was about 11 - no club can get any momentum going with all those changes going on.. we need to accept we will be in this divison for 2-3 years before mounting a challenge, anything before that is a bonus. A team needs to be built, overtime - not in one summer and to do that we need consistency...

I predict the similar trouble will come earlier than the Stockport game. There's a small matter of Chester to deal with, who seem to be going quite well at the moment. For me it will be the fourth consecutive defeat.

We must be realistic.Martin Allen going and the fiasco of last season has sent a lot of fans away probably for good.If I was not a fanatic there is no way i would pay to watch what has been on offer this season.The team quality looks very much the same as last season.We need big players in midfield and upfront.We need wins not pretty football played by midgets.Thorpe and Poole are looking good for the worst 11 of the last 7 years
