Back to the match, FCM were excellent with dead balls and I'd hope thins is something the Bees coaching staff are trying to improve here. Corners and free kicks were whipped in on a low trajectory and they have a long throw expert, resulting in much more direct ball into the box than we have had. I'd guess Soton were aware of the danger because they had everyone back each time, so even when the ball was lost, it went straight back in. They were also much better, out of possession, at pressing than us, again something we were very poor with last season and that does not seem to have improved this.

Lessons to be learned, I think, but, overall, we came out thinking that new Brentford at its best does not look out of place when compared with these two teams in the Europa League; it would have been hard to imagine that 5 years ago.

The PA at St. Mary's was absolute cack, couldn't make out anything from any of the announcements; it made PG seem like he was RADA-trained. The floodlights, also were too low and some seemed directed into the stand. I hope the LR team take note.

Great atmosphere, decent game, particularly enjoyed the English chants from the Fc Midtjylland fans (you're s**t and you know you are, who the f***ing hell are you? We can see you sneaking out etc) great, friendly and vocal support. Great performance by them too!

I think some of the Saints fans to the left clocked quite a few of those songs (i.e our "You've only got one song" in reply to "When the Saints go marching in") were instigated by travelling Bees. Hence them chanting **** Off Brentford, **** Off Brentford at the end !

I went last night thoroughly enjoyed the game it was at times scarily like watching us trying to play out from the back thought fcm rode there luck at times but deserved something from the game for all the hard work they put in (they didn't look as fit and conditioned as us)
Also enjoyed meeting some Danes who where genuinely exited about being part of the benham bees/fcm family

Well done you and other Bees that went. Shows support for MB.

As for wearing Bees colours, it is a free country, and I see no reason to criticise fans wanting to wear their own team's shirt when attending any football match - the shirts cost enough in the first place, get some wear out of them!

It seems that might be frowned upon by some on here. Presumably, you will be able to get away with it, provided you dress inconspicuously and stand quietly with your arms folded throughout the game and do not utter a single word. For extra points and credibility, make sure you face the opposite way, (back turned to the pitch), so you don't see a ball kicked for the entire game..

There is an undeniable link between the two cubs which has resulted in the FCM team visiting GP and their fans have been seen here on several occasions. No one is swapping allegiance or become a traitor to their team. I wish I could have made it last night, it sounded both fun and an enjoyable game, well done to those who had a great night out.

Funny how yesterday the Danes were not bothered about standing,seating, just got on with it it. All very friendly and one guy even gave me his programme.!
Shame we have such a divide with our fans.

Too much negativity at what is the greatest time to be a bees fan and im fed up of it.
As Herbet said, going to GP now should be exciting etc but too many of these ****ers dividing us.

If you apply Toby's logic ( and I am using that term very loosely) every one who posts on the non bees matches thread is worthy of the same shame that is being heaped on those who attended last night don't they?

I shouldn't pre-judge someone with a double barrel surname that went to private school (as he mentions often on Twitter), but sadly I do. Especially in this instance. Two points regarding his bolshie attitude: 1) It is clear from looking at him why his presence is only felt on the internet, and him and his mates don't put on as such a big 'front' at games. 2) He has a 'wizardry' look which makes him a very easy face to recognize at games, which is dangerous for someone who upsets so many people (especially when making threats of physical violence).

I am guessing he is only a 19/20 year old lad so I do not wish ill on him, but he does need a kick up the arse (or a Fulham season ticket).

Top post mate. Noticed the corners and free kicks being very dangerous and looking like they could score every time. Still, didn't see anything last night that would suggest we would be totally out our depth against either team. They moved the ball well but there were still sloppy periods of play, Southampton didn't look that strong IMO.

Indeed. I was amongst a number of GPGers and other long standing fans who went by coach to Falkirk on a Friday night, drove on to Aberdeen, went to the game then drove back overnight again to London in time for the game at home when we beat Fulham on the Sunday morning. There's a photo of me on the pitch in a Falkirk shirt. Didn't seem to be a problem then with any self-appointed arbiters of dress or support.

Presumably if another coach was organised for a game, this time in Denmark, all the attendees would be "pathetic" etc etc.

Probably just as well you hardly ever go to BFC matches with an attitude like that. No support for MB it seems to me, despite all he's done for the club. Very blinkered IMO.
