Best soton could hope for this season in the league is possibly taking 6th spot from spurs/Liverpool which would be unlikely, there is no doubt that they would have absolutely bloody loved a run in Europe so to not make the group stage must be devastating (no matter how their fans/pundits try to say otherwise!)

As a Bees fan, I''m not sure that's a fair assumption. I would say (and I am willing to be contradicted) that open play has been a more important part of BFC's tactical approach than any number of wasted corners (free kicks notwithstanding). I am basing this mainly on the last two sessions, mind you, and not the current fledgling one...

I went to the game at St Marys for this tie, was pretty impressed with FCM but a tad time wastey imo, however credit where its due they've got to the group stage at the expense of a decent prem team, and ill forgive them considering MBs magic is probably still to take full effect as well as playing a very dangerous team when in open play
Furthermore, looking at the foul count tonight, there were 5 made by FCM and 17 by S'ton, so I'm glad they arnt taking the 'Boro route of bad football, look forward to following them in Europe!
