Bruges is a lovely place. Super beer. Great old town centre with lots of bars and restaurants. Oh and for the more cultural very historic and pretty.

Last season we won the championship and now we are in the european groupplay and Fcm and Benham gets millions of £. Im sure that Ankersen and Matthew Benham can handle both clubs and Im quote sure, that he didn't buy Fcm for fun. We have something in Fcm that Ankersen and Benham like. Maybe our academy or something else. At lease be happy on our behave. I have become a Bees fan after Benham bought Fcm. That cant be bad. I might even come and watch Brentford at Griffin Park. Money in the bank. Thank you very much for supporting us against Southampton. Fcm Bee.

We are not the only clubs adopting or have already adopted a stats based approach to our squad and signings.
It is actually a lot more common than we realize.

Ironically Southampton and especially Clive Woodward wanted to adopt it back in 2004/5 but Harry Redknapp did not want to know.

Look at their academy over the last ten years.
The best in the UK.

Dont think you can say its the best, I think its more of a case that they give their young players a chance. I agree that they have brought through some class players recently though.

It's turning out excellent young players and they are breaking into the first team.
Where else is this happening on this scale?

You can see the results and where else can you see the same?

Crewe were the blueprint on how to run an academy up to about 15 years ago,but it is Southamptons academy which is leading the way now.

That puts them right up there with out any doubt.

I agree they are up there. All im trying to say is that there are other clubs that have top academy's but just dont give their kids a chance. Southampton provide their kids with the platform and opportunity to play in the first team.

Too many clubs have too much pressure and short term expectations to push their kids through.

Suffering from the injury jinx as well; midfielder Rilwan Hassan got a broken leg, plus possible ligament damage in yesterday's 2 - 0 win over bottom club Holbro. OB did a favour in beating FCK 1 - 0. FCM now 5 points clear in the table.

oh what have I done. The link from the FCM site that I posted a few days ago about the well received Brentford support at Southampton, includes a photo of Bees supporters: I hope that they're OK, I don't see a problem with it,

1-0 final score v Legia Warsaw, but of course they don't do that stats thing and they didn't change manager in the close season after a successful campaign.

If only we followed their model we might be more successful ;)
