Sorry for my complete ignorance but what is the Europa Conference? Is it a completion below the Europa League or has it just been renamed?
A silly cup competition top see who is the 'best' 7th place team in Europe ?

Flares

Tbf it's great for smaller clubs to also enjoy the joys of European travel. I'd love for us to qualify.
The way it's going there will probably be another comp for best 10th team, so you might get your wish ;)
Whilst they are there, may as well do one for the relegated clubs too, see who the best relegated European side is ?

Troll keeps on trolling.
I disagree…he’s fighting his corner…I don’t necessarily agree with him on flares but he’s welcome to have an alternative view to you and the others who don’t like em….it’s called free speech in this country….and this country isn’t Putins Russia yet ??

Minimum one year ban for possession/use of flares in PL games.

“Fans caught carrying or activating pyrotechnics or smoke bombs, or entering the pitch without permission, will receive an automatic club ban with a minimum term of one year"

Flares

Ban & imprison people for trying to create a bit of atmosphere but let sportswashing projects run the league & cup.

Real soon they’ll start banning anyone who swears. The increase in ticket prices and f*cking up plans of travelling supporters every other gameweek, it’s quite clear the type of crowd they’re trying to attract.

I was at the Stade Velodrome last weekend for Marseille vs Lille. Marseille fan we were with told us that they were under a temporary pyro ban in the stands as things had apparently "gotten out of hand" and they would be allowed pyrotechnics in the stands again in 2 or 3 games time.

The ban did not extend to the concourse however...

Surprised you're still alive mate, I've heard smoke from these things are deadly

It’s a criminal offence. I’m not really sure you can argue about banning fans who commit a crime in a football stadium.

There are enough examples of people being injured in the last year because of pyro/ flares to fully justify why these decisions are being taken.

Fair enough on your first point. I would say, there are quite a few archaic laws that are broken on the daily, they are rarely enforced, and it’s usually up to how the local authority views it, or how generous your officer is.

Regarding flares, the authorities are so, utterly lazy with this sort of thing. They don’t even bother to extinguish between a flare and a smoke bomb. They group them together under the same banner, when they are both extremely different types of pyrotechnic.

I’m sure they will come around one way or another, but it will take time, just like safe standing.

Aye. A few coked up dickheads have ran on the pitch and assaulted players. It was never really enforced by police before the scenes. Now they’ve said they’ll make sure to prosecute anyone who does, even if they are nonviolent.

My favourite moment as a Brentford fan was running on the pitch after the swindon game. It was a subconscious response. I hope we do the same when we get to Europe.

Imagine getting nicked for that? Weird path we’re walking down. I suppose it makes sense if you’re an FA exec, or a bobby at the UKPFU. They’ll never understand.

 What is needed is a Pyrotechnic Check-In area, where those fans of the delinquent tendency can check that the pyrotechnic they're carrying is one of those deemed to be entirely safe. Perhaps this service could also check if their charlie is correctly graded, their knives are blunt enough or other such social services? All for a small fee, of course.

Extinguish between, very funny?

We did just fine for atmosphere before flares and smoke bombs.
Sing up West stand ;)

Second time (I think) that flares have crept into an American football stadium this season...

Was a fair few lit by Rangers fans at Anfield last night too.
Where's this big crackdown then?

Apparently you're 8 times more likely to carry a flare (or be within 6 yds of a flare) if you're dressed from head to toe in black clothing at a match*.

*I may have made that fact up but I couldn't help but notice how the Rangers Boys Brigade were decked out the other night.

Yeah it's common practice for Ultras of any club to dress in black... although I noted they had one chap in amongst them in white... The wee rogue!

Interesting to see that the Rochdale vs Salford match was delayed , due to a fan having a seizure in the stands due to a flare being set off..

What happened to the bucket of sand ? Bit silly doing it now with CCTV you barely have any chance of getting away with it

TV commentator (I think Martin Tyler) said that health and safety regulations were such nowadays that the flare had to be allowed to burn out before the stewards dealt with it.

Don't think we need two of these
