Thank you all for your good wishes.....lol..don't worry, it's the last thing we'd expect.

One thing I have to thank the Bees for though is that in hindsight, that 94th minute equaliser of yours was the best thing that could have happened to us. Yes, it was potentially the goal that could have denied us promotion, but in the end it was the goal that was partly responsible for leading to 38,000 of us having the best footballing moment we have had to date.

I've enjoyed the re-surgence of our little rivalry over the last few years, and who's to say it won't be back on again soon, but aside from having a read of Fleet John's 'match' reports from time to time, I'll probably stay away for the time being as there's obviously less to discuss (you watch - we'll get you in the Cup now lol).

Anyway, best of luck in the coming seasons - HarefieldFFC.

This does make us seem a bit...obsessed, as mentioned above. If it was started during the season when they were low down that would have been okay...in May is a bit cringy.

That said, I expect them to stay up. They'll keep their best players, and their brand of football will go well IMO. Them and Wolves should both have decent/good seasons (especially Wolves). Cardiff I think will go down, and a couple of the 'above relegation hoverers' will likely join them. My early money is on Huddersfield and Brighton.

Glad you enjoyed Wembley mate, what was the best moment, the Clapper and flags or the songsheets or was it singing your highly original song Mitros on fire even though he isn't yours and didn't score?
FWIW, in my humble opinion you were the second best team in this league by some way and if you'd started with a forward in August would have been home and hosed by Easter.
Your football has rightly secured you a place in the Premier League but with the exception of short of 5K proper fans everything else about your club is the stuff of huge embarrassment and this is not sour grapes. I'm a football fan and love being around real football people who went for the first time because it sounded exciting when their Dad or brother or mates told them about it. It's not always for the faint hearted and the loos and food both smell pretty awful sometimes, the sound system doesn't sound great sometimes and it's cold and it's miserable and the football is poor sometimes but it doesn't ever change how I feel about my club and no doubt how you feel about your club. I want my club to improve on and off the field and make it a better experience and cement it's customers loyalty but I don't want it to change to a club I no longer recognise or love.
That my friend is what I believe has happened to your club. neutral stands, Johnny come lately over seas investors, celebrity nonce fans, statues of said nonce fans, targeting of tourists as customers, the customer experience with all the collateral I've done to death is not for me. How can you be proud of being a laughing stock, I'd absolutely hate it.

I think you've always been a welcome contributor as honest, straight and enjoy grown up debate with a lot of tongue in cheek. For that reason congratulations, I'm very pleased for you and glad you enjoyed Saturday, I think you'll easily survive next season. I want promotion as desperate to experience a season in the top tier but I really won't enjoy the journey if we transform from what we are and what you were to what you've become.

Thanks for the personal congrats, but the rest is getting a bit tiresome now, and I have to be honest, comes across a bit bitter and exaggerated.

I have never been prouder to be a Fulham fan than I was on Saturday, and sharing the day with many people who had travelled thousands of miles just to be there, and many others who like me had waited 43 years for the day, was much more important than worrying how other clubs' fans get worked up over bits of cardboard and ways to get bums on seats.

It's pleasing to think that as wonderful a day as you all had on Saturday the fact is that tears shed cannot be unshed, the stains of soiled trousers can only be cleaned so much and hair pulled out by the roots will never grow back. We certainly enjoyed giving you the opportunity to add to you clapper collections so I guess its a win all round.

..and I agree that this thread is rather pointless.

Sonofabee: Thing is mate, that just isn’t true. It’s what you want to believe. Fulham often got gates of 40k in the 60s, 25k in the 70s and a few 20k gates in the 80s. In the promotion season under Adams in 96/97 there was 10k plus for the last three games of the season in the bottom division. (If you go to see your club in the bottom division you’re a fan in my eyes). Essentially, there was always a latent support there. There are also lots of people who have a connection to the club who have come back with our ‘success’ over the last 22 years and have rekindled the passion. As well as loads of youngsters who have become fans because we have been ‘up there’... many of whom are well into their 20s now.

At Wembley on Saturday there was 38k. All dressed in white, all with a connection to the club. Singing their hearts out. I didn’t see any ‘tarquins’ or ‘ruperts’ (and I wouldn’t have cared if there was- as long as they loved the club) all were ordinary working class and middle class people, pissed up having the best day out ever. What I suspect, is that you are trying to claim it is some false football experience or the club has changed because you’re jealous of it.

Obviously there would be a few day trippers - my sister came for example... she goes to maybe one game a season but has done it for over 30 years and has had to listen to me and my dad talk Fulham for years. She *knows* the club. Similarly, at the cottage, no doubt there is a few kiwis and Aussies and northerners in London who come a long because they like football and they probably sit in the Putney end or in the Riverside but who cares? We probably got a hardcore of about 16k. I’d rather see the ground full. Considering you got a thread saying ‘how do we fill Griffin Park’ I’d guess you wouldn’t mind a few of these people down at your place.

The clappers. Not my thing. I’m of the same football stock as you and I don’t like that corporate sh*t. But we got a lot of kids down at the cottage and shock horror they like them. Villa were giving it large about the clappers before Saturday, afterwards they saw our support and were saying they underestimated us as a club and a fan base. The statue... couldn’t give a ****. It was obviously ****ing awful but proved for great banter with lots of clubs, all of whom saw the absurdity of it. Al Fayad was ****ing nuts and if he wanted to put it up after all he did for the club I couldn’t give a sh*t. Anyway, it’s long gone and ancient history. Overseas investors and tourists... I agree with you but that is the same for chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United, Man City etc... are they all tinpot?

I much prefer following the club now to when we were losing 4-0 to you in 92 or losing to Torquay to go 2nd to bottom in the football league. My football values are the same as yours. I don’t feel a laughing stock, are you claiming Brentford the peak of football authenticity? There is lots about modern football I hate, just like you. But it is ****ing brilliant supporting Fulham these days and your rant just reads as bitter and envious rather than anything close to the truth about my club.

I find it hard to disagree with any of that, except perhaps the sugggested level of the “hardcore support”.

I think the bitterness, whether conscious or unconscious, on some posts makes us look a bit obsessed and small time.

From me it’s a well done, and let’s hope we can join them.
Rest assured though that if we do get to the prem, most of the things that some people knock Fulham for are a necessary evil.
Apart from clappers.

It may sound to you like bitter but I’m really not. Pleased for you and my problem as I stated before was never with the 4 and 5k that followed you when you were poor throughout the 80’s and 90’s. No problem with families and friends getting on board, we do the same but hate the tacky commercialisation and knobbish types your club now favour and attract in recent years.
Let’s agree to differ, you deserve to be where you are and so do we. You are happy with your set up and neutral stand and all the hype that has got you a bigger fan base now, I wouldn’t be.

Also re the “tourist” element of support, I would estimate from listening to the languages/ accents in my block of New Road, that we probably get at least 500 Euro visitors minimum at each game already.

I very rarely post on threads like this as they do have a habit of coming back to bite you on the bum, and they can come across as sour grapes and gives them the chance to say we're obsessed with them and slightly makes us look like a small club. It's just a personal opinion and I know a couple of Fulham fans, and have enjoyed the banter over the last few seasons, but I for one think that HarefieldFFC comes across as a decent bloke, so until our paths cross again HarefieldFFC ����

Do not waste money buying expensive replica Premier League Fulham football shirts.

Instead go to a novelty / joke shop and buy a large fake Penis and a tube of glue. Smear the glue on your forehead and attach Penis. You get the same desired effect as you would if you wore the shirt, but at a fraction of the cost.

Well done Fulham you played some exceptional football and fully deserved promotion ( far more so than the cloggers from Wales)

I don’t like the clappers and the “ tourist” fans drive me to distraction, however football has moved on and if it creates an atmosphere and therefore increases gates and income, well ( apart from clappers) we will have to get used to it st Brentford

Don’t share the antipathy to Fulham ( Rangers is a totally different matter and the implosion of their club can’t come soon enough!!) I think they will do ok in the top division and hope that we can join them and restore the rivalry some time soon

Pretty much sums up my feelings Pipe. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Aston Villa to smash them in the final, and certainly never want to see clappers in GP or our new ground, but other than that I'm not losing sleep over them being back in the Prem. I can also acknowledge that based on their style of play and run from Xmas onwards they fully deserved to go up although I hoped they wouldn't.

As for QPR, I could never wish them any joy (slightly pains me to say that as my late grandfather was a lifelong RaRa) and I hope they struggle under the fool with the brolly and are fighting at the wrong end of the table this new season.

It would be very funny this time next year if Brentford, Fulham and Chelsea were all lining up in the Premier League and RaRa's were starting a season in League One!!!

I'm as guilty as anyone else in enjoying it when our local rivals struggle and I'm a teensy bit jealous of their success. But let's keep this in perspective. Well done to Fulham ... I hope they get relegated next season, unless we win promotion - in which case I'd rather they stayed up, because it's always nice to collect points in Putney.
