Exactly the same path my lad trod. Got through his trials and seeing him play in the Bees colours against the likes of Reading, Luton @ U16 level were right up their with Winning the Play-off final and beating Arsenal in our first Premier League fixture.

He's only ever been interested in Brentford pro club wise so he is gonna be absolutely buzzing at this. (Excuse the pun)

The standard of overall coaching and facilities are pretty good as you would expect & unlike some Academies the intent isn't to fleece parents buying expensive training kit etc it's genuinely about the development of the youngsters footballing skills.

The specialist GK coaches were a bit variable in quality to be honest but the one thing they did demand of keepers through all age groups was that they were comfortable with the ball at their feet and happy to sweep high up the pitch - very much the Raya blueprint.

My boys philosophy is..."what would Raya do" ??
He's gonna be devastated when he leaves.

They're back up at Uxbridge High School in the old academy facility for this one. I haven't been yet for obvious reasons ?
But the wife has commented that it's good there and the coaching and coaches are a more likeable than previous clubs he attended at Pre-Academy level, I'm sure you know who those 2 teams were as well...broke my heart seeing him in their poxy kits ??????

A week ago Southampton's highly thought of academy director Matt Hale informed them he was leaving at the end of the season. ?

I know we recently had trials for the age groups, but would the club be looking at scouting players too to bolster squads?
There is a kid at Ashford U10s who is doing remarkable things for his age. His touch, control and ability is extraordinary for his age.
I'm aware he attends a skills coaching one on one thing, so could likely get better.
Not sure if he was aware of the trials few months back but before anyone else snaps him up, thought someone at Brentford may want a look.

Seemingly, he is playing for Ashford at Crystal Palace today.
