Disagree. As a slow bowler in her delivery stride, she can clearly see the batter ahead of her so has time to change her mind. Batters need to learn.

I have no doubt Dean will learn from it. Her dad was a prominent minor counties cricketer and will be no doubt be helping her.

Her backing up technique was all wrong IMO, touching the bat instead of dragging, watching the striker instead of watching the bowler. Next time she plays this will all change.

Watch the highlights, she was doing it all the time. Why didn’t the Indian bowlers mankad her earlier on? This was a last ditch attempt to win the game. Look how the Indian players and fans celebrated, it doesn’t demonstrate an understanding of the ”spirit of cricket“. Very sad IMO.

Whilst it is a sh*tty dismissal, it is something that can be done and the rules do need looking at. A batter walking the crease is seeking to gain an advantage, so I suspect this rule exists to prevent the non-striker being half way down the wicket when the ball is released.

I'm still questioning the legality of it. She appeared to be faking to bowl - she wasn't looking down the pitch, she was watching the non striker waiting for her to leave the crease. She was never going to bowl that ball and when a bowler pulls out of a bowl it should be called a dead ball.

Imo a simple rule change would remove all controversy - when a bowler enters the non strikers batting crease, the non striker should be allowed to leave it.

She was given the signal by her capt immediately before bowling (it was captured on TV with her mouthing the word 'off').

Archer will probably want to play in the Ashes next summer but thereafter i predict he will focus only on white ball cricket and play in franchise leagues around the world. I see he has already signed up for the SA T20 league. Which is a good move to get competitive cricket under his belt.

They surely with that level of investment would be looking to get a return and only way would be to expand it.

I didn't realise until you mentioned in another post, that the Ashes test series will start in June and finish in July. No test cricket in August in England is hugely disappointing for those that love red ball cricket.

I want to say there is no cricket for me in August but I will still be playing.

So there is no cricket to watch in August. Which is heartbreaking. Its been a strong part of my life since my dad took me to the oval at 6 months old. To effectively have the season over by July just seems like a rushed mess.
