23 wickets in just over 76 overs. Some good bowling but honestly awful batting overall. The majority of the Indian batsmen have been dreadful in this short series and their techniques in both games have been shown up. Without naming his name only one player looked in any quality on that pitch.

I remember going for a leak in the old Warner Stand at Lord's and still being able to watch the cricket.

Any lead over 80 I would worry with this fragile India batting line up. Markram playing superbly and on course for a ton.

Just catching up on this thread. Not sure the above is technically correct. Some of the IPL owners are funding the new SA T20 franchise teams. It has nothing to do with BCCI at all.

Interesting lunchtime conversation with Shaun Pollock taking about pitches and not lasting 4/5 days. They are missing one key element - batsmen these days are not good enough with their techniques to play on all different surfaces. I can only think of 4 current batsmen - Smith, Root, Kohli and Williamson who have the technique to play on surfaces across the world. The rest are just blah …

Two test series are not meaningful IMO. Good for India to level but should have been a 3rd test and there was no need to have played 3 ODIs ahead of this series when you could have played an additional test.

Pitch was awful on day one but equally the batting overall in their series with a few exceptions has been lacking.

I would disagree with that and the evidence would suggest otherwise but to back up your view Markram did manage to make a century on that I guess.

I just think test matches shouldn't really only last 4 and a bit sessions.

I genuinely didn’t know about Evan’s knock yesterday, watched the highlights, wished I hadn’t known but it was mad, a slow 50 took 17 balls and then he sped up.

Sounds like the Aussies collapsed themselves v Pakistan to give the tourists a small lead but they have come out firing with the ball .

Pakistan should just quit playing test cricket in Australia. This will be 17 losses in a row on Australian soil and I can see that streak going on for some centuries

They need to get away from playing on roads in Pakistan. Those pitches do them no favour when playing overseas.

What has happened to Shaheen? Not playing in this test and at the WC seemed his pace is considerably down.

Agreed. It will never happen though. Shaheen saving his legs for the useless PSL. I would have played him this match and rest him for the limited overs stuff he has been overbowled last 12 months and it shows in his recent returns.

We really need a strong Pakistan, NZ, SA and WI and others test teams. Without them test cricket will really fall apart. You can't have only three competitive test teams - sadly in 5 years time we may have a discussion how test cricket is no longer relevant as I suspect 50 over cricket will be in the next year or so.

Warner should have been banned for life together with Smith and a few others.

Goodbye you cheat and pleasing that he ended his test career without ever scoring a test 100 in either India or England. A limited batsmen in tough conditions.
