Talking of beautiful batsmen, there are some ridiculous scores being run up this season. Warwickshire 490-1 against Durham yesterday. Should we be worried about the Kookaburra being used in the CC?

I have just been notified that Derek Underwood has passed away. A great left arm bowler in the days of uncovered wickets.I believe that he once bowled out the Australians on a drying wicket at Lords.

Sorry the match at Lords was in 1974 vs Pakistan.
Match figures 13wickets for 71 runs.
Also, the match was drawn.

Interested to see that Ireland have just announced a Test Match against Zimbabwe in Belfast. A new Test Match ground. I'm thinking of trying to pop over or this, so just wondering if anyone has been to Stormont Cricket Ground at all and how far it is from Belfast city centre etc?

Should have had more of the strike !!

261 in a T20 gets chased down with 8balls left

260 used to be a reasonable total in a 50 over match !!!

I'm probably old school. Far too many scores of over 250+ in this IPL 2024. There has to be a balance between bat and ball for any cricket to be enjoyable. The impact sub in the IPL is a rubbish rule. Select your 11 and stick with it.

Sunil Narine only went for 24 in 4 overs as well, the other bowlers got hammered

My life that Indian team brings back some memories as I saw them play Surrey at the Oval the year before when touring teams played a full tour and not just the international matches.

Gavaskar hundred, Chandra, Venkat and Bedi playing as well as Engineer, super side. Mind you they were a bit flaky, they were bowled out at Lords by England on the 1974 tour for 40 odd as Chris Old was a bit lively for them. I am sure that Chandra didn’t fancy a bat and didn’t come out feigning injury when everyone was waiting on the field for him ?

All going on in the Womens World Cup Qualifiers. Today Uganda have beaten USA, while earlier in the week, the tiny island nation of Vanuatu beat Zimbabwe.
Before the tournament, Vanuatu put out a request for kit to the press core, as they didn’t have enough to go around. Then they beat Zim in their first ever official qualifying game.

Cannot believe this news as a Pears fan.

A very talented and very nice young man who was making his way in the game. Was playing for Worcester 2nd XI on Monday taking 3-66 off of 20 overs against Somerset., don't know why that's relevant it just seems it is as I don't know what else to say other than thoughts with his loved ones and team mates :cry: .

I think it's because it adds to the shock. Everything seemed so normal and now it's all changed.
