Pak trying to grab a defeat from the jaws of victory against SA now on Sky.
They’re quite good at this.
They’re quite good at this.
Where is he? Had to face some of the greatest fast bowlers of all time in a cap.I saw these stats which I think is a useful metric in how good a test batsmen:
Test innings per century (min 50 :
D Bradman: 2.76
K Williamson: 5.81
S Smith: 6.03
K Sangakkara: 6.13
G Sobers: 6.15
J Kallis: 6.22
Y Khan: 6.26
S Tendulkar: 6.45
B Lara: 6.82
V Kohli: 6.83
R Ponting: 7.00
V Richards: 7.58
J Root: 7.69
R Dravid: 7.94
A few thoughts:
Bradman numbers are impressive but masked by the fact he played probably 90% of his tests against one team.
Kumar is one of the most underrated batsmen ever and hardly ever gets mentioned in all time teams. Younis Khan was quality.
Take away Williamson record at home, he would be near the bottom.

Lions squad to Australia.

Rocky Flintoff: Andrew Flintoff's son named in England Lions squad
Rocky Flintoff is named in the England Lions squad for their tour of Australia in January.www.bbc.co.uk
Good luck to Flintoff junior, however surprised not to see Archie Vaughan. Good move to take Bashir ahead of the ashes next winter so he can get used to the conditions.
Not sure they'll notice among the hundreds of millions who will watch. Here are the games that hopefully everyone will boycott watching
Looking forward to seeing hundred of millions boycott these games because @Judio1999 said. Lol. I guess as you say you all on GPG will boycott these games? Let’s see. Here are the games that hopefully everyone will boycott watching
Agree. No wonder Ben Stokes was angry with his tweet above. The England team like a bit of golf in the UAE.
22 in 193 so 8.8Where is he? Had to face some of the greatest fast bowlers of all time in a cap.

YesThis Champions Cup thingy, if India face Pakistan (the hosts), are Pakistan going to have to travel to the UAE to play the game?
Yes - the BCCI control cricket. The same thing happened in the last T20 WC where India chose their semi-final location....This Champions Cup thingy, if India face Pakistan (the hosts), are Pakistan going to have to travel to the UAE to play the game?
My view is clear as I stated before that if India don’t want to play in Pakistan then they should have been kicked out. Having said this there are legitimate security concerns for India to play in Pakistan (far more than any of the other 6 nations) and equally any ICC tournament without India you lose millions and millions of revenue.Yes - the BCCI control cricket. If by boycott you mean take no interest in following matches and only know results etc because they might be mentioned in broadcast sports news round ups such as on the radio or televised news (excluding ssn) then add me to the totalLooking forward to seeing hundred of millions boycott these games because @Judio1999 said. I get what you are saying. The Champions Trophy is the ICC tournament that I have least interest in (well until it starts). I personally think it would have been good if ICC made a stand against India but it was never going to happen (ever). Pakistan not having to play in India in future ICC tournaments works well also.If by boycott you mean take no interest in following matches and only know results etc because they might be mentioned in broadcast sports news round ups such as on the radio or televised news (excluding ssn) then add me to the total
If India didn't partake then the tourament would be financially unviable. My view is clear as I stated before that if India don’t want to play in Pakistan then they should have been kicked out. Exactly. If India didn't partake then the tourament would be financially unviable.
While I don't agree with the decision that's been made, I do think the political tensions which have led to past conflict does raise the level a little to be honest.I wonder what would the ICC would say if England didnt want to play in Australia because we dont like them and they have spiders that are a safety risk?
To be honest he has been poor in test cricket for a while, his pace has dropped, doesn't have the stamina to bowl in test matches - correct decision. Shaheen has the talent but lazy work ethic and should just stick to the limited overs stuff - a one trick pony. The cupboard is pretty bare having said that Naseem is worse than Shaheen but somehow still gets a gig.@Jam Jar Shaheen Afridi not selected for the tests against SA? Wow.

Good test match currently involving Pakistan. Don’t agree on the Modi point, Jaishankar the foreign minister visited Pakistan in October. So efforts have been made. Why would India take the risk when in truth there is lots of instability in Pakistan politics and only takes a few nutters. India would certainly be a Cat A risk, far more than England and the rest.I think Pakistan now employs presidental level security for cricket tours so can't think the Indian team would be at any more threat than the England team.
I do think the PCB could have stricter with their negotiation - perhaps a 25 year agreement that all Pakistan-India games if to be played in any sort of tournament in India should be held in neutral country as well as potential semi-final / final.
I'm hoping Modi kicks the bucket a new government might stop this nonsense but I know little of Indian Politics and its probable that the next government would do just the same.
Reminds me of a column by AA Gill who said that he read on the plane upon leaving Pakistan that it was the 2nd most corrupt nation in the world. He suggested that they only avoided first place by bribing someone. It’s always convenient that India are drawn with Pakistan for ICC tournaments. India always tends to win ? but ICC need to stop rigging the draws, despite the financial benefits of any India v Pakistan match.
I think his test career is probably over. And he isn't 24 - proper age fudge that.Good test match currently involving Pakistan. SA 191-7, after Pakistan scored 211
My point with Shaheen is that if he isn’t selected for test crickets on pitches in SA when will he be selected.

A-Bosch...Brilliant name for a tailender!
They will ultimately lose this game but they have had moments where they were in the game, had SA at 200 / 8 and let them off the hook and then Babar and Saud were going well together until Babar threw his wicket awaySA 19/3 chasing 140 odd.
@Jam Jar good to see Pakistan doing well after that first test against England. Won that series, just beaten SA 3-0 in the ODIs away and at least there are competitive in this test match.
Yep Babar looked in great nick from what I saw today. They will ultimately lose this game but they have had moments where they were in the game, had SA at 200 / 8 and let them off the hook and then Babar and Saud were going well together until Babar threw his wicket away
Yeah story of his career not mentally tough to go on and get three figures. Only 9 test centuries in 56 test matches. Flat track bullyYep Babar looked in great nick from what I saw today.
Certainly not in the levels of Younis Khan (quality player), Yousuf, Miandad and Inzaman to name a few.Yeah story of his career not mentally tough to go on and get three figures. Only 9 test centuries in 56 test matches. Flat track bully
19 runs to win for SA121 for 8
A win guarantees SA a place in Lords Final next June
