Goalscorers

My prediction is that Connell is a 10/15 a season man and Ide could easily be the same. Of course that is asking a lot of the teenage sensation and we will need goals and cover from as many angles as poss, ideally a Terry Evans goalscoring defender would be nice.
Poole has scored goals before although that was a slightly lower level but other than that it's difficult to see where they are coming from.:(

Goalscorers

no ! but they are hard to find..... i wish for a bliss & holdsworth up front.... but dont we all  always up the bees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....:)

Goalscorers

10/15 would be great from Ide. Connell is 7/8. Thorpe scares me on the goal scoring side but last night showed how much we need a player to hold the ball up. Moore will be fun but can't be relied on and Peters is far too hit and miss. I think Butcher needs to pull another loan out of the bag, the two so far look exciting.

You missed out goals from our now fully motivated and can`t wait to get at em wing sensation - Paul Brooker!

Seriously though we need to have wide players and midfields who can chip in big time.

Will KOC be shoved up front next season if things don`t work out?

Goalscorers

O Connor is the only squad member in double figures with Brentford goals (30)

Ide, Brooker, Peters have 12 between them

Charles, Heywood, Tillen have one each....

Goalscorers

problem we have is that our defence looks weak and needs protecting so much that the midfiled can hardly get beyond the half way line.

Thorpe will not score many, but could chip in a few, but he will allow Connell, Ide to find space and scoring opportunities. Still hopeful that Poole might be able to step up a league and maintain his decent scoring record from midfield. Moore obviously likes a shot from distance, which we haven't seen much of in recent seasons.

If we're playing three in the centre of midfield we can definitely work on pushing Moore further forward and we've seen he has a decent pair of shooting boots.

Last night they couldn't be bothered to get past the half way line even at the times when our defence comfortably had possession or Brown was ready to take a kick or throw out and TB was yelling at them to get out.

Goalscorers

Ide – 9 / 10
Connell – 9 / 10
Thopre – 6 / 7
Poole – 6 / 7
Kevin – 7/ 8
Moore – 4 / 5
Mackie – 3 / 4
Brooker – 2 / 3

Goalscorers

Lee Thorpe is 1 goal away from 100 career goals in all competitions....

Goalscorers

46 goals , if we are lucky, some how we need to sign or loan a striker with pace and a eye for goal, and with the money we can afford i think we need to look at the non league

Goalscorers

I think

Thorpe 8/9
Connell 10/15
Ide 15/20
Brooker 4
Moore 4/5
Heywood 2/3
OConnor 6/7
Basey 2/3
Smith/Cochrane 4 each
Mousinho 2/3
Montague 10/11

Feck me we are as good as up lol I think a bit of realism is needed here, we will be lucky to score 50 goals this season at the moment which means lower-mid table. Goals from midfield will be crucial if we want to finish any higher than that

Goalscorers

we are not going to win the league
we are not going to make the play offs

we are going to a some new grounds, have some great away days, win or lose

im just glad we are still here :)

Ide 15
Connell 10
Thorpe 7/8
O'Connor 5/6
Moore 5
Poole 4/5
Montague 3/4
Brooker 2
Mackie 2
The rest will be happy to get on the scoresheet once!

Would love a Striker with real pace, then we would have all options covered up front, don't think peters is good enough for that role.

Let's wait and see what happens before the transfer deadline.

Partly agree with you,but would prefer a physical, nasty bastard, who wasn't afraid to mix it with the gorillas in Div 2

I think you'll find Thorpe will fit all the criteria just not sure if he's that good. but to be fair I haven't seen much of him.

Goalscorers

I think we need four strikers minimum, 2 being able to play the target man role. We should have real competition.

Goalscorers

any team who wants sucess needs 4 strikers, and Peters should not be included, Ide/Connell/Thorpe and one more for sure needed.

Yes, that is Thorpe's job description!!!

Best to keep our eyes on non-league for another potential dj to bring through over the next few months like MA did with the boy wonder.

DJ was none of your discription though of what we need.

how is Heywood going to score 2thirds of a goal....:fishing:

and Brooker? 4?

if that is what we are relying on we are SCREWED!

I direct the right honorable gentleman to Mr Masters as evidence of the point in hand. :fishing:
And the odious, whinger Kitson who lasted 37 seconds on Sunday.

Off topic I know but laughed when 2 years ago he objected to Reading fans attempts to enjoy promotion with "Ginger appreciation day". So ginger t££t with no sense of humour either!

Problem with a loanee striker is that we'd have to drop one of the other loanees; Hamer would be most at risk when Brown is fit, but until then they all seem pretty necessary: positionally, Moore is perhaps the least vital (as we have other MF) but he is possibly the best of them

ginger people are dodgy, not the least cos of the freckles but more cos suspect there is alien bllodline somewhere, this used to be a prison planet for off worlders after all:rolleyes:

Get a loanee striker in soon otherwise it's gonna be another long season, bring Kev back to right back play Smith centre midfield and drop the Sheff United Full back.

The problem is we haven't played our first choice forward line yet without Thorpe. Also if we're going to persist with this formation Peters needs to be one of the wide players and Tillen and Brooker need to be nowhere near the first team

Goalscorers

What we need is Ide playing wide right if he's not playing upfront with Thorpe or another target man. At the moment he's out the game as he can't hold the ball up, he's better with the ball at his feet running at defenders. A goalscorer is only useful when the chances are being created and we're not letting in lots of goals.
