Ealing's a decent club - do they have any restrictions on playing ability (e.g must you prove handicap?)

as long as you don't hit it straight left through the Clubhouse window or take a two foot divot off the first tee Les.....you can play:D

:( Would have been a good day .....

I'm in. What sort of time are we looking at meeting up, coming from Hemel so no doubt will hit some sort of traffic.

Brings back terrible nightmares!

I used to play on a little par 3 course (Grasshoppers!) on Syon Lane, next door to Gillettes, and I remember clearing the club house down the left with a vicious hook and taking out a car window. I found the fella in the bar.

Embarrassing to say the least :sneakoff:

Had an awful round at Abbeymoor yesterday which doesn't bode well for Friday and Saturday :(

..................who is supplying the hats???................

Golf

Played Dorset Golf and Country Club, bloody hard course and with me playing crap (9 points on Saturday :() was a very long couple of days.

Golf

Had my first game in ages yesterday with bba89 senior & goodminton.

I had and eagle putt on a par 5 (first ever eagle attempt) and I lost my bottle and ended up 4 putting and therefore getting a bogey...... Gutted.

Golf

Played Abbeymoor on Sunday and scored 21 in 9 holes so hopefully my crap run of form has come to an end :)

Golf

Markybee

May well be interested in this too but will need to consult the missus as GB will be celebrating his 36th year that day.

I play off 36 if that helps ? :fishing:

Golf

We have postponed this until next March....sadly. But we'll have a good turn out that day.

Golf

Played The Barn (or is it Sunbury Golf Centre ) for the first time and scored 30 points so it appears I am back in form again :sorted:

Golf

Finally going to get to play a game on Friday - on my Jack though. :(

Going to have a knock at the Sunbury driving range first but can anyone recommend a relatively untaxing 18 holes within about 10 miles of Staines?

Golf

played Camberley Heath(a lovely course) today in a charity day, also a birthday treat and shot 37 points with 4 blobs off 10

Thorney Park

Can't quite remember if it is 18 or the same 9 twice but its nice enough, cheapish and ideal for a beginner.

Could also try Laleham (on the Marina road opposite Thorpe Park entrace). Not sure if they will let a single visitor on alone but its quite straightforward as a course.

Thanks for those - possibilities. How about Silvermere?

Not a bad shout, but as WarrenBee says, beware the last two holes if you haven't brought your swimgear !

Hoebridge at Woking might be another one to consider.

Golf

Hersham Village is a possible aswell, bit easier than some of the others mentioned.
AbbeyMoor is very good for people that don't play much but only 9 holes, could play the 9 holes twice though?

Abbey Moor is a very good 9 hole course and there is no reason you couldn't do 9 in the morning and 9 after lunch.

Golf

The Barn in Sunbury is relatively straightforward and reasonably priced but Hoebridge is a good shout also

Golf

Possibility of a free round at Ashford Manor. Which is nice. :) Might be a bit difficult though.

Golf

Hounslow Heath :fishing:

Played there after work last week. It used to be a sh*thole but they've been taken over and done it up a little. Not brilliant but decent for a quick round (two of us did it in 3 hours) and for £15.

Airlinks has great greens but is pretty flat and not that many trees. Tough course if it's windy though.

Golf

Pine Ridge is one of the best public courses that I have played.

:sorted::sorted:

True, but expect a 5 hour round this time of year.

Ritchings Park (especially back 9) in good condition at the moment.

Hoebridge main course is good value.

Fulwell on a Tues (public day) takes some beating.:sorted:

Golf

Tell me - a round in three figures is bad isn't it? :) Two pars though.

Golf

three figures for nine holes isn't ;)

I lost a CLUB at Ealing last night

Ah yes - this Ealing trip you've organised. Is it correct that you have to hold a handicap to go round Ealing?

Golf

Looking at treating myself to a set of Ping G15 clubs. Anyone recommend Ping or should I consider alternative brands?

Also, start a new job in 3 weeks at Stockley Park. Considering membership at Stockley Pines, anyone played there?

Yes thanks.

Golf

Kempy, I can probably get these for you at about 70% of what you would pay here.

Would be end of Feb or early March though.

Let me know.

As long as you're not avoiding VAT or anything like.
