Hate Corner

BRING IT BACK...... Gp needs an atomosphere, last few seasons have been dire

At least the locals living around the ground now have a peaceful weekend!!!

Totally agree, GP is now like a library and its the same if the team is winning or losing. The dugouts need to be moved back & hate corner needs to return. Teams must love visiting GP these days.

Hate Corner

The dugouts need to be moved back....

Ahhhh those pesky dugouts. I'd even be willing to chip in a score to help with the costs of moving them back. How do the home results over the 14 months after their installation compare with the results 14 months previous?

First, dousing the Hate Corner heat with the Griffin Park version of a fire blanket, then extinguishing 'the most intimidating walk in football' by moving the benches. Then people wonder why GP is like a library! Still, I'm no longer sure about bringing back Hate Corner - I would prefer the whole of GP is turned into a "Stadium of Hate" instead of a little corner. In fact, that would make a nice name for a new stadium if we were ever to move in to one - it's certainly a lot less cheesy than the Stadium of "light", but would we get it past the FA?

Edit... I am now imagining Jeff Stelling saying the words "...and there's been another goal at the Stadium of Hate."

Very well put.

Unfortunately I really can't see how things can improve. I will try my best during the next home game, it worked great away at WWFC, just hope those who were there plus a few others can help along the way :-O We need to give the players vocal support and encouragement like in the past.

Up the beeeesssssssssssssss

Hate Corner

what a disaster making new road all seater has been. completely unnecessary waste of money and as someone said its like a library now since ken shut hate corner.

Hate Corner

how much would it cost to put the dugouts back where they belong on the breamer????

Hate Corner

Not much. The teams used to sit in the stand in Braemar so all you have to do is carry the plastic lid things over.

I use to love the old dug outs that were below ground level and everyone clambered in and peered over the edge. You couldn't see the manager or subs from the stand. Happy days.

Hate Corner

how much then rebus?

What has the dug outs got to do with singing or not? Onions and dug outs is all Brentford fans ever seem to go on about now. :(

no one been happy with the dugout move since day one really, just another way to moan about them!!!

Hate Corner

It's strange but I've never noticed the dugouts doing any singing, cheering or booing. I expect that, if hate corner was re-commissioned, it would either attract a row of nuns or the spotty bottle-lobbers from ER.

Having the opposing manager and players have to walk past/warm up in front if the Paddock gave us a massive advantage. FACT.

A massive one in 2006-2007, plus 2007-08 indeed. I don't subscribe to the theory, sorry. Teams win games, not dug outs.

Hate Corner

It's done. Let's all move on people. :)

its done and come be changed back! this was the idea of AS which from day one was a sh*te idea that no one wanted and after all his bull sh*te look where it got him!
they look crap, looks non league going across the pitch, it has taken a certain atmosphere away which even you rebus use to love lol! will look more professional if on the same side as the changing rooms and where the directors are, also i think the view from behind the paddock better for a manager that may want to sit in the dugouts or even sent there! also on a safety note the physio would be closer to the St johns crew, club doctor and first aid room!

So BFC move them back us the fans dont like them there!

Hate Corner

I will send the bill round to your house stoney. :)

cheers mate!!! lol

just one of them things that was not thought of properly.

Cmon rebus your the voice of the fans there make it happen, so we can make GP a Fortress again!

Hate Corner

Make the new dugouts a VIP seating area :-)

I can't believe Rebus doesn't seem to understand that the away team have it easy at GP nowadays. This used to add spice to the atmosphere. No away team subs/manager used to like that long walk to the old dugouts, Braemar hasn't been quite the same since. I guess AS wanted them moved so he didn't have to walk the gauntlet, he must have known what was coming.

On a different note, out of interest if Uwe was sent to the stands where would he go?

Hate Corner

1markbee, the answer is the away end particularly the way results have gone at home so far ;)

You make it sound like it was the Den revisted! So when we were shipping goals left, right and centre in 2006-2007 what was happening to this infamous walk you talk of?

NorthamptonBee went to QPR that season! :)

If it's a question of money, couldn't Lifeline be approached?

Hate Corner

Rebus i think for what its worth to bring back the dugouts to there rightfull position and hate corner would be a good start to a vibrant g/p again. Also get you out to your old stomping ground the place saturday was a morgue. Id be interested in your loyal comments whilst sitting upstairs on your leather setees ???

Hate Corner

 Also, sometimes managers like to view some of the game from the director's box. Bit inconvinient these days .

Hate Corner

Not if I've got any say! I suggest that those who want them moved have a whip round.

Personally, I fail to see how the location of the dugouts will create "fortress GP"... unless we park them across our goal.

Personnally i blame the lack of atmosphere on you changing your Gpg username to rebus not been the same sense then

Feck me I had to go back all the pages to find this, I think he was a good mate of mine, taxi has admitted to knowing him in the years since and also of being very scared of him. He was a tad on the excitable side.

to be fair, taxi scares easily :)

Presumably because most have given up on going on about Lionel Road and disappointing results.

no bill needed, lets get a work party together, ill bring my kango and a dozen bags of postcrete,, just make sure its in position before wycombe come in jan, just in case rowlands is on the bench , ( god that would be some walk past the paddock);)

New Road will be packed for that one.

Hate Corner

Going off at a slight tangent re the dug outs I am sure Peter Gilham would love them back in their original site as on days like last Saturday with the sun shining it is impossible to see the red number on the 4th official's board from the opposite side of the ground.Consequently as happened against Huddersfield it was almost impossible to see who was going off as the entire team descended on the dugout for drinks which prompted PG's response of "I have no idea who is going off !"

Hate Corner

How come it costs so much money to move them back when I believe that we were told it cost virtually nothing to move them there?

Hate Corner

Cant somebody who knows what they are doing, start a petition or something to get things back to the way they were........
There seems to be some interest in this topic...
