Just received an EFL email telling me that my Bees Player season pass will automatically renew for next season for £45 on 1st July unless I cancel beforehand. I assume that this is worth renewing as it will allow me live match audio commentary of every game next season - or am I mistaken?

Many thanks.

Wasn't sure, so I cancelled. Could always re-join.

I was the same but couldn't see how to cancel it - did you just email [email protected] ?

I think this has been asked, but just to check, presume there's no need to "cancel" accounts/subscriptions only created via BFC for frozen ST holders?

Yes, but we will be live on TV every game!

I contacted ifollow about next season and received the following reply:

Please note that as Brentford are now in the Premier League, iFollow will no longer be providing live coverage of games.

We have opted you out of the renewal on your season pass subscription and you will not be charged again.

Your account will allow access until the end of the current season.

Thank you for using iFollow. We’re sorry to see you go, but hope to have you back in the future.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

I agree about video but I am still not sure about audio.

Perhaps the Communications Dept of BFC could clarify the situation re, eg Marky and Co providing audio commentary, which I would use for away games I don't/can't get to.

Chris Wickham sent this reply to my email

iFollow is a EFL product and the online access will be different in the Premier League. Colleagues are working on what we can offer next year but we know other clubs offer audio commentary of all matches so I would hope we can do that.

The iFollow streaming that has been in place since the Covid break will definitely not be available as that was an EFL solution to games behind closed doors. Midweek streaming that was in place prior to that will also not happen.

I would expect us to outline the full position in the coming weeks.

Thanks,
Chris.

No we won't. It will just be easier to pick up an illegal stream as every game will be broadcast somewhere in the world. We have been spoilt during the last season and a half with the number of Sky games and being able to pick up the rest free for season ticket holders or for a tenner otherwise.

I’ve just been charged £45 for my annual ifollow subscription - I assume this is worthless now we are in the EPL? Any idea how to claim a refund?

iFollow

emailed them and they cancelled my subscription right away, had an email from them to confirm this too.

Feedback from iFollow…
We can advise that although Brentford have been promoted, the access available via this subscription will remain the same, should you wish to keep it. The audio commentary will be available for every match as well as highlights and interviews.

I closed my old account. Then opened another for the free access over lockdown. I did pay for the odd game through it too.
Am I going to be auto charged for a renewed subscription even though effectively I did not have one?

No if you just bought ad-hoc matches you won't be auto renewed

Bought a ticket for this match but severe back trouble stopped me going. I subscribe £4.49 per moth and was able to listen to the Wolves away game on Saturday. Are these cup games now not covered by the monthly subscription?

Sky Sports ch402 are showing all Carabao Cup goals

Wissa did well coming in from the left and hitting the post for Marcus to dispatch the rebound

My wife has just said how much did you pay for that rubbish I would not pay a penny for it you missed half of it. Can't argue with that it is 2021 after all!

So, I'm really confused about Beesplayer/iFollow or whatever it's called now. Took out a month's sub so we could listen to the West Ham game, and now want to cancel - no obvious sign of how to do this. I'm not even sure if it'll renew automatically? It's so not worth having, the promised highlights/games seem patchy at best and non-existent at worst. Anybody help with cancellation? Or does it not renew?

Send an email to [email protected] saying that you wish to cancel.

You should then get a response back confirming the cancelation

Does anyone know if iFollow still stream live games in the lower leagues? Or is it back to commentary only these days? Asking for a friend. Who supports, urm, Burnley. Yes that's it, Burnley. And is concerned that in the highly unlikely event of relegation, he might not get to see them very much next season in view of the lack of Championship coverage on 'creative' streaming sites. He lives near me and works similar hours so regular attendance isn't an option these days.

Obviously this won't concern you, but for the Burnley fan in your life, i believe that live coverage was only introduced due to the lockdown and fans being unable to go to stadia. Not a problem any more (let's hope). Us internationals should be able to watch all games though (it was about £100 for a season). Surely you're close enough to France to qualify for that?

Funny you should say that. Our speedway team, who have fallen out with (and withdrawn from) the British League, have actually been invited to join the French League so yes, we're basically French. Thanks for the info. I'll let my Norwich mate know. :sorted:

Stream, yes. Stream in the UK, possibly...

I think...

Fans overseas can subscribe watch every game home and away as they always used to. there may be one off PPV access too.

Fans in the UK cannot subscribe to every game. They can pay £10 to access games only on the same basis that Sky do their red button coverage, i.e. not Saturday 3pm games, and even at other times (midweek games, random rescheduled Sundays etc) the home club can say no to UK access.

And you can always buy a Now TV pass and watch via Sky Sports when the game is shown on Sky.

FWIW Swansea v Bristol City was on Sunday last week due to police advice, and was streamed via Swans TV and Robins TV (their iFollow equivalents) for overseas subscribers. No red button and no iFollow in the UK because Swansea said no. A dodgy stream with the same IFollow commentaries was found fairly easily for the Bristol City fan in my life however. I do not know how easy this usually is.

So the answer to what I'm asking, really, is no it would seem? With the majority of lower league games taking place at 3pm on a Saturday, live streams aren't available at a tenner a pop like they were during lockdown?

Ifollow dont do Saturday 3pms anymore but definitely do live video on midweek games for a tenner.

He's decided to stop being so negative and to stop worrying about such an eventuality. He's now convinced Burnley will stay up, starting with 3 points this weekend against Arsenal. I mean Brighton.
