Thiago is nearly as much fun as Kayode.

But at the business end - 8 PL goals by the start of Nov is outstanding.

He typifies what we are about, humble, good humoured, team man who is a beast to defend against.

His touch and nous improves by the week and him putting Schar nearly into the South Stand to let him know he’s there when clearing was cracking centre forward play.

Igor Thiago (Brentford): He has been excellent, performing really well for Brentford and did so again in the win over Newcastle. Scores a lot of goals but also works tirelessly for the team, puts his body on the line. A proper centre-forward. He signed a couple of years ago and has taken a while to get up to speed with injury, but with Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo gone he has filled the gap. Kudos to Brentford to keep being able to churn them out.

Obvious that he had all the attributes but putting it all together out there is another matter.
Yesterday I think he came of age.
One particular passage of play was very Toney-esque. Between the ‘penalties’ he brought a ball down; head-touch-touch-touch and pass inside to Hickey that was every bit as sexy as that famous arse-pass to Bryan v Fulham. Just brilliant skill.
Hickey’s low cross got half cleared and came out of the sky to IT who hit a sumptuous volley that needed the Pope to tip it over. Almost identical to Toney’s volley that hit the cross-bar in the P-O Final v Swansea. Just sublime.
And he’s only going to get better.
Wild times ahead 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝

Bloody hell how incredible would that be? If he keeps this up he will be impossible to ignore - Brazil have a lot of forward options but not many out and out 9's so it depends on how Ancellotti wants to set up.

Hi main rivals are Joao Pedro at Chelsea or Richarlison at Spurs. That should make him a shoe in for a place in the Brazil team!

Even then they dont necessarily fit a number 9 role - Pedro is a 10 and Richarlison is being deployed on the left of a 3 behind a 9 this season.

Not sure when Brazils next games are but he must be on the brink of a call up even if as a squad player initially.

I don't recall any other players prior to him being quite as overt about showing his religious faith in his celebration. Always credits his belief for his achievements. No judgment at all, just something i dont recall seeing for us before. Obviously a big thing for him

I think by showing his faith he is being humble and is saying he's getting help from above or where ever they are

Overt is probably the key word but lot of recent forwards have been religious. Benrahma used to point to the sky like Thiago does but it wasn't every celebration. Mbeumo and Wissa would do those open palm prayers pre-match. All of them are Muslim I believe. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that FTT is devoutly Christian or Muslim.

It find it's more common that Brazilian and American athletes are quick to give thanks to their deity for their ability before most other nationalities. Likely a cultural thing.
