I'm being a bit selfish but id rather Igor have a nice holiday this summer and put he's feet up
Im not being very polite, but that’s an insane take!!! The increased profile for Brentford from having a Brazilian goal scorer at the world cup would be phenomenal. Also I imagine something none of you thought remotely possible back in the Woking days.

It would be massive for Brazil's number 9 at a World Cup to be a Brentford player.

Also it'd be nice for him to play against Hickey in the Groups and Yarmo in the first knockout round... As well as good practice for him if we draw a Scottish and/or Ukrainian club side in Europe next year 😎

After Beto and now watching the Furo signing reel, can Igor change his surname to Thugo!🤗

Igor Thiago

It would be brilliant to see him play for Brazil!

Hope he can stay fit - for us and the summer!

Thanks. Quality breakdown of how the team has changed from last season in an attacking sense and demonstrates what he brings to the team that many (especially on the outside looking in) don't see.

The Bournemouth game is probably the best example of how the team still greatly benefits from his movement and physicality when he's not scoring goals.

All the comments are really positive too.
Either saying what a great person he seems to be (true)
That he should make the WC squad (true)
What a great club Brentford is (true)
That we have an amazing record in identifying players and helping them when injured (true)

There’s even a QPR  fan in the comments saying he wishes us luck!

Is Igor the best no. 9 we've had in the PL? Hyperbolic perhaps, but I wouldn't swap him for prime Toney, and I don't think anyone else is even close.

Easily yes. He surpasses Toney's strength and is similar in technical prowess but is much faster. I will admit that his penalty technique could do for taking some notes from Toney but overall he's an incredible player and in my opinion, has the best instincts in the box of any striker we have had.

He isn’t a knob either.

What an absolute idiot that bloke is.
All players have purple patches & then go off the boil, depends on the system the team play, who their teammates are,how the team as a whole are doing, what is happening in their lives outside of football,if they are playing injured etc etc.
I take it he does'nt rate Cunha if he supports Man U.

IT's combination of likeability, pure humility and goalscoring is turning heads. You can't help but love the guy and I genuinely think he'll turn out to be a premier league cult hero. Nothing but praise from opposition fans and the media 🥰

Interesting piece in the Athletic on Brazil’s centre forward options for the World Cup, focusses more on Thiago than any other player, though not necessarily ground-breaking stuff. In short: not a lot of room for # 9’s in the squad given how many wide forwards and 10’s they’ve got and intend to use; the fact that he is “only” playing for Brentford is not really a big deal; but the style of football does count against him because a lot of his goals don’t translate to the way that Brazil would be playing - goals from balls over the top and fast breaks versus Brazil playing against a lot of packed defences who aren’t going to give up the kind of space that we get.

I think it’s a pretty fair assessment. He has shown attacking qualities that would be important to Brazil, penalty box instincts, movement, aerial ability etc. But still needs to demonstrate it more, and quite a lot of that depends on us as a team as much as it does on him individually.

If Strand Larsen of Wolves is being sold to Palace for 50m, what on earth is Igor worth? I hasten to add I hope we won't sell him for several years, but he'd have to be worth 70m-plus if that's the benchmark.
I think you would have to look at the cost of replacing him, which would probably be far more than £70m. Watching him on the highlights of games this season, you see the intelligence of his movement (especially when he is mopping up after the inevitable Kevin loss of ball).

Kevin loss of ball indeed . lol

I would hope he's here for a while yet but replacing players for less than we sell for is what we do. We won't need to spend £70m to replace Igor any more than we did to replace Ivan. In fact his replacement may be in the building already.

Igor Thiago

Hopefully we can move him on in time to get a decent replacement

I can’t work out why he gets absolutely nothing from the officials, if I could be bothered to watch the game again there was at least 5 incidents which should have been a foul against him not given. Then the incident at the end of the half with Konsa, punished for being stronger
