Thought Thiago played well in the CB position tonight, probably made more headed clearances in our box than Collins! What a fantastic asset, enjoy him while he is still here, has a good WCup and top clubs will be falling over each other to sign him 🐝

Ridiculous player, pains me to say it but he could do serious damage in a better team.

I think he improves every starting XI in the league, save for perhaps City with Haaland.

Moments like these are milestones to be cherished along the way and a huge reminder of exactly where we are now - nobody would have had Brazil's potential number 9 playing for us if they were asked 10 years ago or probably even 5 in all honesty.

I wish I could go back to Sao Paulo and see that cabbie who gave me a lift back to my airbnb this time last year as I told him about Igor Thiago and how he was gonna be a revelation in the Premier League and got a look of pure confusion both at the player's name (which he silently mouthed repeatedly to jog the memory bank, like an old man with Alzheimer's trying to remember his own phone number) and at my prediction, which he then pffft at.

To be honest, I just wish I was back in Brazil. All those sunny days, cheap drinks and jiggly bundas...

He was on Talksport this afternoon no one called him out for being wrong , but he still thinks he’s just been called into the squad ‘for Ancelotti to have a look at him’ and didn’t sound convinced he’d make the WC squad.
Apparently Ancelotti loves the Tottenham diver and although he’s not in this squad he’s definitely going to the WC .
Who cares our Igor is in this squad so let’s hope he can impress !!

Not sure what he has said wrong - he said IT wouldn't be picked as he only played for Brentford and the committee who pick the squads had never heard of Brentford and dont pick players from small clubs- he didnt say he agreed with that opinion as far as I remember

He also said that there were lots of articles in the Brazilian papers this morning along the lines of “Who the hell is this guy Igor Thiago” 😆 Sounds like there’s bit that much interest in the Premier League out there.

Thats exactly right, he was simply explaining and highlighting that Ancelotti would likely pick from the ‘big clubs’ so a Bees player may be overlooked.
He also touched on Ancelotti being close to the President or something? I took from it that perhaps there could be some influence from him, but I maybe wrong.

Listening to Tim Vickery on TalkSport in the early part of the season, when the initial suggestions were coming out that IT could break into the Brazil squad he came across (to me at least) as if he wasnt just reporting the fact that Brazil had a policy of not picking players from "unfashionable" clubs, but that he also thought that was an 'understandable', standpoint, at least where Igor and Brentford were concerned.
As his great season continued, and the noise and likelihood around IT securing a place increased, Vickery's views have seemed to 'soften' on that policy.
At least that's how it came across to me.....🤷‍♂️
But maybe I'm just too "precious" about my club and its players!!! 😁
