He’s contracted from July 1st, presumably for 24/25 at least. It will probably be the only time that Ivan and Igor appear on the same team….

For those of you who have followed Club Brugge since we learnt that we had signed Thiago here’s a short film of their Championship Playoff games. Even though it’s not in English (some bits are) you’ll see snippets of Mr T, himself, and it’ll give you a few more clues as to the type of character we’ll be seeing next season.

SPOILER ALERT: Although injured he seems to be reasonably agile enough to join in with the celebrations. So, fingers crossed, he should be up and running, literally, by the time pre-season comes around, all being well.

Thanks for that. I've watched a lot of Club Brugge since we signed Thiago, including two games live. Definitely have a bit of a soft spot for them now and will continue to look out for their results. I'm really excited about Thiago joining us and genuinely think he'll play a huge part in a very good season for us next season.

Really excited about this fella. When a player leaves a club and gets that kind of reaction from the fans it says a lot about how he plays for the team and connects with the fans. Looks a real talent and just what we need.

And he’s only played the one season with Brugge. His personality is going to be a real positive for the team. We will still need to allow him room to develop, but I’m guessing that when he gets his first PL goal he’s going to go crazy. Part of me thinks that he might get his first red card before he gets his first goal because of his enthusiasm, but hopefully not. As I’ve mentioned before, having Mr T, Wissa and Bryan together in the changing room could be a pretty boisterous place.

Just by chance I got chatting to an FC Bruge fan on a train on Saturday. He only had good things to say about our new striker, he is strong, runs all day and causes any defence problems. He said that he was sorry that Thiago was leaving the club but believed that he would adjust to the EPL quickly. Good to hear....
