Exactly and the clue in the BFC statement is probably the bit that says further scans next week.
Is it a good sign that further tests can wait until next week? Any huge concerns and I'd have him booked to see a specialist ASAP rather than wait a week - (I don't think you get too much swelling - ooh matron! - with a meniscus)

Igor Thiago

Is this new injury in the same knee as the original injury that curtailed his season with Bruges?

Igor Thiago

Whatever the outcome of the scans we know that he will be getting the best medical treatment available.

Fingers crossed it’s not too severe, but on the bright side remember we bought Thiago to replace Ivan and Ivan hasn’t left yet - so he’s got a few weeks to recover and get up to speed on the playing side of things. He may not be ready for the first game, but we’ve got a few other strikers currently competing for places at the moment. Let’s see how they get on this evening against Benfica and we can add Thiago into the mix when he’s good and ready.

It was the medial ligament in his right knee at Brudges

Note this is from May 2024 and is not referring to being out for the rest of this season!!

Guess we'll wait to see which knee is the problem.

Nobody even knows what has happened. For all you know one of the medical team saw a slight limp in Thiago and said "time to come off mate", him being a tough cookie says "nah, just feels like a bit of bruising I'll be fine. Want my hatrick". "no chance mate, you're coming off and we're getting this checked".

Some of yous are acting like it's just some guy with a bucket and sponge shouting "you'll be fine! Run it off!" every time a player goes down.

Igor Thiago

what ever the injury is , its a huge ball ache in preparation and getting used to the Brentford way .Wissa it is then

On a plus we have Schade back.....................for now ..........................

Igor Thiago

Unbelievable. But I don't think we need go panic buying yet. Wissa and Schade can play the 9 role. KLP, Damsgaard, Mbeumo up front, plus others to back up those positions. And if toney hasn't left there's noone you'd rather have playing anyway

Igor Thiago

Dr GPG reckons 6 weeks max.
Is the Dr GPG qualified as a medical partitioner or one of those Dr that write long dissertations about some research they did about trees or Beatles or something or other

Igor Thiago

If he does have a knock, will be interesting to see how long it lasts considering TF made a point of staying he wanted more work to be done on getting players back fit

Igor Thiago

3 league games then.
Keep Toney till the end of the window and we’re sorted, no problems.

Of course it’ll take him a while to get back to speed after but at least he can take part in all the tactical discussions in pre season. No substitute for match practice sadly.

Toney needs to go now. Wissa scores goals.

Igor Thiago

Gah it's so frustrating. I know injuries happen but if takes 6 weeks to recover then he misses the whole pre season basically, which is vital as we have seen before

I suspect Toney will probably stick around till later in the window - we’ve shown before we like this tactic for maximising value - plus he won’t be back in training for a while anyway.

But also agree, we’d probably play Wissa instead of Toney to ensure Toney doesn’t get injured.

I can't remember the last time the club proactively decided to publish an injury on the website. They rarely (if ever) do it. Usually it spills out in press conferences or through ITK journalists. Any thoughts on why they decided to do it here?

Igor Thiago

Setting aside ramblings here, Thomas said at the end of last season they needed to take a look at all the injuries and see if any changes be needed to be made. Does anyone know if there was any result to that effort?

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question, but it seems relevant.

Probably because they knew people would wonder why he wasn't involved tonight.

And there is no competitive advantage to withholding the info until tonight, as we would for a league game I'm sure....as it's only a friendly.

So when we don’t sell Ivan in this window we all know why

Igor Thiago

Bah on these. It could be any time at all.

But I currently have meniscus trouble.

And if I had access to what the physio would want me to use, I’d be good to go in a week or two. It’s not ripped, it’s just damaged from use and because of an old injury.

So it could be anything from 1 week to 7 years, who knows. Let’s trust in the club

Igor Thiago

It depends what part of the meniscus has been damaged. The outer part has a good blood supply which means it may heal without surgery.

Sorry mate, you just failed the no d*ickhead test.
If you'd read any of the earlier posts you'd know the injury was caused by twisting, not by being kicked by "a League Two clogger".

Get your facts right and stop trying to spread misinformation. If you want to do that go to Twitter etc,
F'ing grow up.
