What other novel tricks has he got up his sleeve I wonder? This is the sort of thing to attract the attention of the occasional football fan and the authorities. The authorities? Oh no!
I'd imagine he and Neal will arrange a meeting to rehearse an arse kissing goal celebration.

According to Wiki the Bulgarian record was broken for Brugge to sign him on a 4 year deal for roughly £7m

So this guy won’t be cheap. 15-20m most likely.

Welcome to the club. IGOR ?

It's a lot of money but this is the pond we are fishing in now, so I think you have to be excited - his profile seems what we need and that plays to the model we have built which includes having a genuine centre forward rather than exclusively players who can play across the front line. If he does seem raw , I've got every faith that the club will have a clear plan for developing him further; I remember watching that Marcondes documentary years ago that he was so impressed with everything the club knew about him and what to target for improvement.

I also remember Phil Giles saying that we will look to buy player who they hope will become better than what they might be replacing. The fact that no-one got a sniff this was happening makes it all the better. Welcome Igor!

You have signed a hard working striker, scoring mostly easy goals but he is often on the correct position. He is excellent in pressing opponents, he learned a lot the last months.
Using his body better, positioning, off the ball, ... A big progress. But €37m is an awful lot of money. Bruges likes to do business with you guys again. Why is he leaving? This is a recordsum for a belgian club. Thats the reason why Bruges can not refuse.

Don’t worry about us. €37m is nothing in 2/3 years when he’s worth €100

I can only hope so. For Brentford, for him and for Bruges ;)
He who dares.... Felt the same when we bought Herman H for 750K all those years ago and sold him for a 100% profit or thearabouts a few years later. Have a little faith.

I'm delighted we've signed a proper Toney replacement rather than a fast winger, where the intention seemed to be to convert Schade to a central striker. That was obviously an assumption rather than a definite plan, but I was never convinced by it, based on Schade's goal record.
I think we determined we needed a Plan B and that also maybe we are seeing a move back to having a (more mobile) target man to counter the high press. Suspect our Plan A will still be a quick and mobile Front 3 with a Schade type being a converted centre forward. Although we probably have a Plan A, B & C with a Front 2 in a 5 3 2 and a Front 3 with a Toney (Thiago) like centre forward and a Schade type one.

So, if he keeps scoring, he'd be worth plenty more come the summer transfer window. If he's a regular scorer and regular starter I don't get why you'd sell him now. Maybe Brugge have cash problems and need to sell him, in which case, no problem. But I am slightly concerned. And after this season, I worry about a niggling knee problem...
He was only at Ludgorets for a year too.
Given how important and ground breaking this signing I am certain that we conducted thorough due diligence on him as well as him not having any serious issues identified in what would have been a gruelling medical.

Just relax and breathe. If you really must worry about something and it makes you feel any better than just hope he doesn’t get injured in the remainder of the season.

CF is the one position there is always a high premium as the ability to put the ball in the back of the neck is so important. This price to me looks like about right to me for his age as well.

never heard of him, similar with the other lad from Bruges however I am certain Phil and co will have carried out due diligence, assessed how they see his potential and consider it money well spent.

We will have him for pre season so can be styled to our requirements from day one rather than part way through. He is scoring goals for his present club and if he were to have a stellar next few months he would be a long way out of our price range., whatever our views might be regarding the cost it is fairly irrelevant at this juncture

yet again we have done our business out of the spotlight ??

Looking at the Club Brugge results, it looks like he’s their main penalty taker, too!

Yes, heard this from those ITK. A "pressing monster" apparently. Which very much suits our style.
Will be instantly liked by the fans if he’s chasing every ball down …. Will probably give him abit of a buffer if he doesn’t hit the ground running goals wise

Excellent. Delighted. Wow.

I wonder if we , in turn, have already done a deal to sell Ivan? ( or his agent has)

I wouldn't be surprised to see us sell one of our other forwards. And / or us not buy Maupay.

Very exciting!!!
