Nothing in his performance today would make it into his highlights reel. He is strong and with decent pace for a centre forward, but he is far from an Ivan Toney. Assume we are paying for potential. Escapes a straight red after a VAR review.

It sounds like he’s trying too hard to impress. It does mean that he’ll play one less game this season. Take it as a positive!!

Can’t wait for Thomas to get to grips with him and turn him into another quality BFC player.

Not very long ago we were a league 2 team. We're now punching above our weight in the Premier League, are one of the best managed clubs in the world from a financial point of view, and pretty much every signing we make is done without stress and to ensure that at no point does the selling club have a gun to our heads due to the fact that we've just sold a couple of players and have 100 million quid knocking around.

I'm in awe of our management team and how they conduct their business. We are the envy of a lot of other clubs fans, but for some reason there are Bees fans that still find a reason to complain or question what's happening. It's not your job to do that. You're a supporter, so support the club, STFU about stuff you know nothing about and enjoy another brilliant season in the best league in the world.

I agree with what you say but you do realise we all pay money to watch the bees for our entire life right? True supporters should be able to question certain decisions and have valid opinions on matters like this if they feel that way.

So the club says they’re paying x amount for a new player. You disagree with his valuation. What is your valid opinion over those of Matthew Benham and his management team? Unless you’re a scout for another club, or have experience playing at the highest level, and even then I’d question why your opinion is more valid than our management team, what possible view could you hold that differs from theirs that’s valid? You’re uncomfortable with how much is being spent? So what, it’s not your money. You don’t think x player will be good enough? So what, they think otherwise.

Sorry mate, but I don’t think anyone who disagrees with MB and his team over player acquisitions have a valid opinion. Irrespective of how long you’ve supported the club, and by the way if you’re a long term supporter then you should know better! If you’re new Brentford I get why you might have questions, but you’re still wrong to ask them!

I don’t really get why Janelt is forever held up as a great player, for the price. He’s definitely valuable to us, and I’m thinking he probably regards the comparison as irritating, not to say patronising.

I think he probably doesn’t care at all. PG has said his club didn’t really get why we were keen and he’s said he’d have come for less than we offered to pay him. He’s also very competitive and confident and is unlikely to take offence at us saying he’s much better than other players or that he’s worth a lot more than we paid.

I once took 25 English school kids round that stadium. And got them to pay for it. Just so me and my colleague could see it. Also dragged them round the Decathlon across the road as one of the teachers wanted to buy a pop-up tent.

I agree, Thiago will be a great signing.

Blimey! It's has to be a combination of: what the going rate is, how good they are (as I've witnessed), how good they are ( as others have witnessed), how they fit the shape of the squad, whether I like their face/demeanor. Do they like dubstep. There are many factors involved in evaluating anything: subconscious/conscious pattern recognition. And WE ALL bring something different to the table.

Im speaking for other supporters that get shot down on here for having an opinion. I have no problems at all with the transfer.

That’s a very odd thing to do. Does he still join us if we go down? We are going to look a bit silly with all those articles about what a ‘handful’ he’ll be for Premier League defenders if we do end up relegated

He did it after his red card for Brugge last week, not last night. Probably just wants full focus on the rest of the season with no distractions about next season.

Perhaps we’ll do a Clive Allen and sell him in pre season so he can still play Premier League football!!

As far as I can tell, this isn’t even a Club Brugge match. Score shows ‘ABO vs CHU’ (whoever they are!) and the number 7 for Brugge is Andreas Skov Olsen so possibly the poster chose the wrong clip for his post.
