I have just received an infraction, about Joe Kuffours appeal. and have bee told it's on an existing thread. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

If there is any consistency, you should get another one for starting a new thread about infractions. There's already one existing you know. :rolleyes:

I'm not really to bothered about it. i mean if they do not want me to post, i wont bother. I really did not see another thread about it . that's why I started a new thread. But what the mods must understand is , a lot of us are manual workers. Fortuantly we're not all journalists. I really wish the usual culprits would stop this unnecessary nit picking.

Your not being banned for it. It's simply a way of reminding users to check the site for an existing topic before starting a new one. The main advantage is we can see who persistent duplicate thread starters are and I don't think you fall into that category so you have nothing to worry about :)

The whole point of the site is for people to read the news about Brentford and comment if they choose. A quick glance through the appropriate forum or the new posts and you can find if a thread exists

As the GPG is so wonderfully techno, perhaps a pop up to remind people if a potential thread duplication may occur?:idea:

ie (DPVE Theory) (c)

Thread 1 = Moderators Unpopular Enough As It Is

Thread 2 = Moderators Looking to Improve Their Image

Thread 2 could be flagged as possible duplication?:idea:

Duplicate Posts Virtually Erased and moderators have more time for other billhooks?:fishing: so to speak!:wave:

I can't see that there is too much of an issue here. The point about duplicate threads is straightforward - it is considerably easier for people to review a discussion about a topic if it is all in one thread.

As for infractions, they are used for a variety of reasons. In severe cases where the code of conduct is broken to such an extent that the moderators feel a ban is necessary, a heavy number of points will be used to do this.

In a trivial matter such as the one in question here, they are used as a reminder, hence the single point. However, if the reminder doesn't get across you can see that the points will be totted up over time and will eventually lead to a ban. I'd be amazed if that happened though.

Infractions are just a mechanism to reinforce the code of conduct. It is hoped that the code of conduct is fair and means that all are able to enjoy the GPG.

No doubt ill get screwed for this but....

Ive always thought the management of the GPG could, one day, resemble the Chinese government. With censorship of messages and purposely shouting down others who dare to disagree. :shrug:

It does seem a trifle unfair that someone could recieve an infraction for being abusive to another poster, yet another GPG member receives the same "punishment" for starting a thread in the wrong place. :shrug:

GPG moderators are like coppers, politicians, traffic wardens and referees. Anyone who actually desires that sort of power shouldn't be allowed to have it.

I've got angry and personal at times and although I regret my keyboard warriorness after I've come back to reality I've never had one.

Am I in an "in" crowd or something or am I just too tame?

Pete, it was just the GPG's way of saying 'Happy Birthday' but without the term 'Best Wishes':rolleyes:

You only got a yellow card, not a red one so you can play on Saturday against the Iron:sorted:

This is an internet message board, not real life and not meant to be serious. Some people clearly value this board more than anything else and are socially inept ****ing off to HTML jargon in their internet world.

All you mods were bullied at school and get your power kicks off the GPG. You should join the police.:wave:

Duplicate threads are a big problem to casual readers of the site, infractions are a way of reminding people to check before they start a new thread.

Your first sentence is pretty ironic considering how worked up this has got you. :D

I was bullied at school, tremendously. The police wouldn't let me join, the traffic wardon school turned me down and Brentford won't even let me be a steward, I mean how else am I supposed to get a packet of crisps.

This is the only thing I have in my life, and now I'm being bullied here. I might as well end it all......................
