Injury Updates

Rather than navigate individual threads to try and find news on injured players, I hope it's OK to have one update thread for any info people may have on how players are getting on with their injuries? Hopefully it will be a very quiet thread in the future, but with Josh, Kristoffer, Shandon and Vitaly in the wars lately, perhaps it would be a good time to start? I know the info is probably all out there, but all on one page might come in handy and save a bit of time. ❤️ ? :hat:

What about Mads Bech? Good idea by the way.

Ajer back for Chelsea , what did Vitaly do ?
Not sure about Vitaly, but the commentator on deaddodgytv.com said before the game that Ajer had a hamstring injury so hope you're right about Chelsea? My hamstring took over a year to heal. But then I am several decades older than Kristoffer and about 35st overweight, so his recovery should be a bit faster than mine. :)

someone on here said he spoke to him :sorted:

Shandon might be out for a while - I recall Charlie Mac dislocating his shoulder v Luton in the final game of the season and I think it kept him out of pre-season.

Reminds me of the terrible trouble Bryan Robson used to have. His arm used to literally fall off every other game. :(

any update on Julian Marc Jeanvier please

I remember that England game in the world cup where his arm fell off, Wilkins took over as captain and then threw it at the ref and got sent off (or something like that).

I know he was always injured but Josh left about 3 years ago Mazz........Oh you mean Mr DiSilva! Off crutches now apparently.

By the way, I would never post it here because it's pretty x-certificate, but if anyone is non-squeamish and has a penchant for collecting pictures of horrific injuries, feel free to PM me and I'll gladly send you a picture of what happened to the back of Mazz's leg when he pulled his hamstring in November 2019. It will make a nice addition to your horrific injuries picture folder. It looks normal again now but still plays up to this day. You have been warned! ?

My dad tore his hamstring playing tennis when he was about 65. His complete leg went black with bruising. Looked dreadful. Took a good year to fully recover. He didn't play tennis again.

Yep. I know exactly what he went through. Although mine was down to my own stupidity rather than sport. I'd pulled over to use a public lavvy and was so desperate that I rushed and forgot to put the handbrake on. The car started rolling, I managed to open the door, get the brake on, save the car (and about six other people's cars), but the full time score was Toyota 1-0 Mazz. I ended up in hospital on a drip with mine. :(

He's clearly the person that our PM models his jogging gear on.
It rather put me in mind of how Richie from Bottom might turn up for a celebrity match.

Injury Updates

Anyway. Enough of this. Anyone got any updates on our broken players?

Per Thomas just now on OS :

“Kris has a hamstring injury so he’ll miss the Norwegian games. We hope he's available for Chelsea. We will assess Vitaly but it’s something in the thigh, I think it's a minor thing. And Shandon has a dislocated shoulder so I don't know how long that will take.”

I just saw that on O/S ,doesnt sound very positive , there's no " it was a precaution etc to not play them "

Arrggggh! With the Shandon injury that is not good at all. We still looked solid defensively without him but we definitely lose something in terms of fluency ie his passing and bringing out from the back. With MBS out as well we could well see Goode get some minutes.

Hamstring injuries can be quite quick healers if small ones. I ‘tore’ mine reffing at Bognor on Boxing Day a few years ago. It was only a tiny sinew that went but I could barely walk. I was reffing again 4 weeks later…

Not in terms of starting, thats why we brought Zanka in.

Agreed but if any of the three who started Saturday get a knock or dip in form Goode is the obvious next option. Not too worried about that tbh.

According to the OS Marcus not joining up with the Finnish squad this weekend having been selected. Injured also or dropped?
Well he wouldn't have been selected if he was dropped would he?

A new one on me.

Maybe somebody could give Onyeka an "elbow to the ear" in training just before the African Cup of Nations...
