I’ve been asking around and even my best man whose inlaws live there can’t really recommend much about the town. Although apparently the marina area has some nice restaurants. But that’s true of Hartlepool too.

For history buffs, stay in Woodbridge and visit the Sutton Hoo site. Suffolk villages out towards Rendelsham Forest are lovely if you fancy a mini break!

Exactly. I've heard a good few people make that Luton analogy. I think it also helps that the tractor boys were such impressive fans at ours, adds to the sense that it'll be a good atmosphere.

It shouldn't be the case that fans with high TAPs feel like they need to log in to the ticket site within the first few hours to grab a ticket (or a fairly decent one). But I feel like this could be the scenario for this one.

It will be. It's a day out in a stadium we've never played at before in the PL. With a high likelihood of a win.

Plus it's a day trip too. No need for a hotel etc.

Last Saturday game of the season, hopefully decent weather and a very easy journey not far from London.

If there’s still time to reconsider then that’s what the club should be doing.

A mini-golf break at Thorpeness is well worth it; good value and a James Braid course to boot
Southwold is also very nice, as is Aldeburgh with Snape Maltings a good shopping destination for the missus.
Third best pub in the world too at Laxfield ….. 1 & 2 are on the official secrets list.

Came on for Lasse in the second half and ran around like a rabid dog kicking lumps out of Ipswich defenders.
Got booked and subbed within 15 minutes.
Thought he was Dave Simmonds’ reincarnated.
Brilliant, hilarious and frightening in equal measure.

For Brentford to Ipswich (for 2pm on a Saturday), which is nearly 100 miles, Gmaps says 2 to 3:10 in a car and a min of 3:14 by train, i.e. likely round-trip 5-6 hours by car or 7 by train. It's not Luton.

although for those of us who have moved east it becomes easier - quick train from Stratford - less than an hour and the stadium is of course very near the train station.

Well I do accept that how long the journey is depends where you live.

It's one of the better ones for me too. Was just thinking from west London some might be underestimating the schlep. Really looking forward to it.

That wasn't Neal's debut, that came a week earlier against Forest at home. He scored in the Forest game and also midweek at home to Bristol City before the Ipswich game.
