Tickets Ipswich (A)

Ipswich (A)

Just keep an eye on the seatmap. However it is 99.999% certain that it won't sell out to STHers.

The real question is how many will be left. My personal view is that not many fewer than are currently available.
I've panicked and bought my ticket, my member colleague will have to take their chances and if they get a ticket we'll have to see if we can find a common space

Ipswich (A)

I suggest a change in members TAPs windows.
If a member has over 1500 points then he gets priority over a member who has less.
Therein lies the argument.
Just leave the 2000 ST who want to regularly go to away games regardless of their age alone.
Its that simple.
Might become more than 3,000 in a few years time…

Ipswich (A)

Fek me, I didn't expect the response that has happened and apologise for tilting the Ipswich thread.
To clarify my position, I am a STH aged 70, believe it or not, it is easier for me to attend away games, especially Northern, than it is to attend Gtech .
Reason for this is train cancellations/replacement buses, TV companies fekin about with days, times etc.
My seat on non attendance is shared with my brother, never put on exchange(touting) and if he cannot attend given to a known long term Bee.
I am definitely in the Taps camp, where a high holding member should have same opportunity as a STH.
Yes, a few on here have commented regarding difficulties in attending aways, but I feel that is still a very small percentage of the 11k STH's.
Perhaps an away ST would suit me and I would forgo my seat at Gtech and take my chances?
Anyway, it's been good banter, let's stick it up the Arse today.......COYB!!!

PS, see you all at Florist, Ipswich and Wolves, if not, then god willing next season. You Reds!!!!

@COYB25 and about 70 seats in VU3 as well on the left of my screenshot !!

So what’s the point in changing things to benefit say 10 people who can’t be bothered to buy a season ticket but apparently are the biggest bestest Brentford fans you’ll ever meet?

Do we know how many fans are members with the upper taps bracket?.

I don’t know exactly off the top of my head. But I think the top TAPs band for Cat A home games are guaranteed a ticket so that band will have about 1500 members in it. The rolling TAPs email to members estimated that top band to start at around 310 TAPs.

As each year a sizeable number at the top end of that band will qualify for and buy a ST, a move to having all away tickets allocated by TAPs alone with no ST preference would in the near future benefit only a v small number of members with relatively unusual buying patterns; eg my son who goes to most of the distant aways but only about 8-10 homes so has missed out on a ST (last year he qualified on the adult criteria but not on the U18 one which was not based on TAPs but instead a higher home attendance).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My FIL has been unable to attend matches for years now (due to his age and dementia) but has asked us to take him to Ipswich as it’s near where he retired. Does anyone have or know of a member who isn’t attending? I’m planning on buying us all tickets but he doesn’t have a membership for obvious reasons.

Got a pair when it opened. Was like “whack a mole” every time I clicked two available spots they were unavailable. Got there enacted a few tries though

Ipswich (A)

Or, how many members with more TAP's than those STH's who have got an Ipswich ticket, have missed out?
Yeah that’s my point mate . That’s why I think members and st holders with enough points should be able to buy at same time

Heres a question,

I assume these members with high TAPs go home and away.................... So why arent they grabbing a ST?

I get logistics and finance. But to be on a par they must be doing most games and probably forking out more then the value of a ST.

It is possible that long-term high TAPs members go to more away games and not enough home games to qualify for a ST. It would be interesting to see how many fell into this category and whether any/many have enough TAPs to take them above the bottom tier of STs. I think it would probably be best done next season after having all the data under the new system up to mid-March.

I'd love nothing more than a ST, however, as members we are currently enjoying the flexibility of occasionally bringing my young son's cousin or friends along on a junior membership. Haven't quite figured out how to achieve that yet if we both have an ST. My son and I have managed to get to all 16 home games so far this season and 10 aways (9 for him, because he missed Newcastle). We missed out on Chelsea, Arsenal and Bournemouth away.

We should hopefully both independently qualify for a leftover ST and then we'll figure out the guest situation.

I don't know how easy it is to get a ST, also possibly a supporter living up north could be getting a lot of away TAP's along with attending only half the home games, which might make it not worth buying a ST? Basically I don't know, but I assume from comments they exist?

Very good point about being able to sit together (y)

Sorry I think that wrong . whilst i think members with higher taps should a priority over members with lowers taps Season ticket holders should always get first priority over members . This is for 2 reasons . 1 Having first priority is and always has been a one for the perks of a season ticket . 2 season tickets have made a financial corment to the club and shelved out the cost of there season so its a reward to the season ticket holder in return for this financial corment.

But this game went straight to all season tickets , why should someone who rarely goes away get priority just because they fancy this one ?

TBH, I used to hold the same views but I’m now shifting my opinion.
The fact that having priority has always been a perk doesn’t mean it should continue to be so, especially when demand for STs now exceed supply. Also, surely the real reward for making the financial commitment (which you can now spread over 12 months btw) is watching PL football for £26 per game.
I’m a long term STH so potentially a turkey voting for Christmas, but let’s be fair.

It went straight to members after season ticket holders.
The point is a season ticket holder should always get priority regardless of how many game away they go to even If its the 1st away game they want to go to this season as it's there right as perk of being a season ticket holder. For the reasons I have said

Agreed.
ST holder here, who for a variety of reasons (outlined elsewhere) rarely goes to away games these days.
Having a consistent TAPs level applied to both ST holders and Members could possibly disadvantage me for the away games I do want to go to.
But I don't see why someone with more TAPs than me shouldn't get a higher priority than me for purchasing away tickets. ?‍♂️
I get my "reward" with priority to attending all home games. (Including those in Cups)

True but till that perk right is changed it's still a thing and should still apply

My advice is get the two season tickets and get another membership for next season and then you can figure out seating problems later.

We can look at the data afterwards and see if that’s true or not.

I was lucky enough to log online around 1420 hours to buy a ticket (safe standing). At the time there appeared to be about 300ish tickets left?.

I have over 5000 taps (member) and got a ticket. Next season, i am hoping to get back to a ST (ideally in the West or South stands). ?

Ipswich (A)

Be interesting to see mate
I think this is one advantage of having this ticket system is that we’ll be able to see data like this and iron out possible issues.

A factor in this is the now rare 3pm kick off so that has distorted the thirst for this game.

Ipswich (A)

A member who lives in the North West , or anywhere else a long distance away who goes to most aways shouldn’t be behind a ST holder that rarely does aways imho
They will most likely also be a season ticket holder.

I understand that the guidelines based on last season for Adults was to attend 12 (PL) games with 7 of them at home AND also be in the top tier of Members Taps. Some one on here will be able to reference it, (as I'm having a lazy Monday) ? I also understand with the new rolling taps, you will need 750+.

I agree the club need to inform STH that this is is no longer a benefit BEFORE they put STs on sale, so have missed that opportunity this year.
That said, I’m not sure it’s an explicit benefit stated in ST T&C’s but as it is stated (I believe) in the Charter on ticket sales then it’s an implicit benefit at time of purchase.
Maybe someone at BIAS can clarify ?

Ipswich (A)

They will most likely also be a season ticket holder.
There is the potential that some long time ST holders have moved away and feel they should not be hogging a ST that could be better utilized by someone closer. This is especially true if they are having to put their ticket on the exchange half of the time or more. But they will have had a history as ST holder and attending away matches.

I'm on the fence about the rights and wrongs of priority just based on TAPs but think it is right to mention that many members will not be would-be ST holders but instead may be ex ST holders.

That's definitely the plan if we get offered season tickets. Then we'll hope to get a spot where there are always one or two spare seats next to us.
