Jo Kuffour
Jo must sign a new contract soon it would be heartbreaking for him to move on a bosman!
I hope your right Watford, we have had 3 home games, each one is below the boards budgeted figures. If your going on the assumption that fans are on their summer holidays. I hope your going to assume we are going to make the playoffs. We always have sh*te gates during the summer school holiday period. Yesterday we also clashed with a big RU festival at Twickenham that saw the return of Harlequins to the big time.
I think we will now see a series of decent gates through September with the visits of Swansea, Luton and Bournemouth. Whether the gates stay up in the longer term will depend on results and performances.
What we cant do is have club officials getting angry a la Noades and complaining about gates. One legacy that MA left was to put a positive spin on all levles of support that we get.
NO. with the money we have received for our three quality players(pocket money) we would be better off keeping him. You only have to look at todays attendance, to see we need a star at GP to improve this abysmal gate. this board have bugeted on6,600 ave. Now can anyone see where I was coming from in the close season. The only way to improve the gate is the product. by that I mean product on the pitch. Not the sh*tty beefburgers.
Well done!Excellent run of form so far, 5 in his last 4 games but the real question is can he perform consistently for say 20 games. Many strikers go through good spells but the really decent ones a la Eastwood do it over the course of a whole season not a few games. Keep it up Jo.

We won't get more than 6500 for any of these games and that is what is budgeted. It was extremely foolhardy to ask for this figure. I think it will be 5300 this season and we are currently averaging 5700.
Joe's has a one year contract I believe, he needs to be offered an extra year as soon as possible if we can afford it.
Nope. Great start but lets see him get 25/30 games under his belt before offering a new contract.
After 25/30 games, if he's up to around 15 goals, why on earth would he want to sign a new contract with us? Championship clubs would be sniffing around him and he'd leave for higher wages.
Having said that, offer him a new contract now, he'd still ask for higher wages than he's currently on (surely he'd want some form of security), and he could end up being one of those who could do really well, but never live up to their potential. Scott Canham being one of my favourite examples. Came on loan from West Ham, played blindingly well on loan, we signed him up and he was a bag of sh*te.
It;s a fine balance isn't it? If he was offered a contract ow he'd probably sign it and we risk being left with a dud who hit a hot streak. Wait until Christmas and he carries on his current form, we won;t see him for dust. I've seen enough about him to suggest his got great feet, good movement and good pace. Put those together and you can't go far wrong. Sign him up I say.
We have a club option on Kuffour so it will be up to BFC whether he is at Griffin Park or not next season.
A player doesn't have to sign a contract does he? If he decides that he can be better off elsewhere, does he have the choice to walk?
No. A club option is binding so he has signed the deal in the full knowledge that he could be here for two years.
That's a weird deal (but commonplace I know). The club is basically saying if you're good, we keep you, if you're sh*t, you leave. Seems a little unbalanced in favour of the employer.

That's how it should be! They don't have to sign it BTW.![]()
I think even if he wants abit more money on his new contract(if we sign him up for longer) i think it wont be any harm of giving it to him.
Have you read any of the posts above
We have him on a 2-year-deal if we want to.
I agree it's way too early to talk about taking up the option. Give the boy an incentive to keep this form up.
Could be a reason for Tillen taking his foot off the gas too. Keep 'em hungry.
Won't be any harm to who? Not him, obviously. But in case you've just beamed down from Mars, this football club hasn't got a spare bean to offer to anyone, however worthy. We may be able to afford a rise next year, but this season's wage budget has been spent. Unless you want to fund the rise, of course?I think even if he wants abit more money on his new contract(if we sign him up for longer) i think it wont be any harm of giving it to him.

His name on your shirt for £10..
i don't mean to put a damper on things i really don't,but i think this hype is coming way too fast.
For all we know he will turn into another fitz(although that's pretty damn hard!)

But on the other hand it's nice to see players getting rewards for hard work and consistently putting in good performances like Jo has.
he will be the next international Bee, Nigeria perhaps?

One bad game and we'll slaughter him on this board. :mad2:
lol

Got a mention on Talksport tonight with a ...." he won't be at Brentford by the end of the season".....
Could do with someone elase getting the limelight for a few games...
I think this is a pointless thread that I will not read or respond to .When Moore or Kuffour start to score decent goals other than 3 yard tap ins ,lets start to get excited!

"Tap ins" Isn't this the sort of thing we have missed from our forwards over the last few years?
