no time scale was mentioned by Scott so I dont know how you can presume Jo has mucked the club around over his move? Indeed, Scott had nothing but the best wishes for the bloke.

Players have such a short career and they have to do what is best for them and their families. Good luck to him!

I am pretty certain that the timing of the announcement has done little to damage the club or TBs preparation for next season.

I would guess that he let TB & AS know that he had got better offers and would be moving on some time ago just had not decided which club!

Jo Kuffour

He was good in a poor team, but not in the same league as DJ, younger Llyod, Asaba, Forster, Taylor etc.

You could argue that the above 4 wouldn't of {sic} shined as much in the standard of team we had last year possibly:confused:

................which one of the above five are you discounting.............?

.............but he knew where the goal was...............

Did well for us last season, and could have done so in the coming season, but can't blame him for wanting to play in the higher division, and can't blame TB or the Board for him going.

Unless they're playing against us, I'd wish him all the best at Bournemouth

Jo Kuffour R.I.P , he,s gone like many before and many will in the future, we are still here .
Not worth giving him the space on this message board , move on now and lets see who,s next to grace our shirt.

He was hardly a legend !!:D

Would have lovedto see jo sign for a Champioship side.I cant see how has bettered himself at Bornmuff, unless it's perly money. Am I correct in saying ''Muff'' are run by the supporters?.
Good luck to Jo, he never gave anything less than100% , and he acted like a true gentleman during the transfer dealings. NOT LIKE THAT ****ING USELESS ****ER WE PAY £2,000 A WEEK TO BROOKER. GOD HOW THAT MAN MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL.

well said mate

Jo Kuffour

How's that then?

We do not appear to have "missed out" on any alternative players whilst waiting for him to make a decision do we?

The timing of the move gives the club ample time to seek alternative players. Particularly, as TB announced, most players wont consider a move anyway until late June or July.

You could very well be correct.

Jo Kuffour

Sorry to see him go but good luck and thanks for the effort.

The bloke who said he was selfish and played for himself should go to GP drug free next season.

Jo Kuffour

Two year contracts for O'Connor, Frampton & Heywood after we'd given only one year to Kuffour. No wonder he didn't feel any loyalty towards us.

Three year for O`Connor & Frampton.

Jo Kuffour

 Bye JK, thanks for the memories!

Well Bradford C at home and Chesterfield at home anyway

Anybody who can score 10+ goals with that shower of sh1te as a supporting cast can't be all bad

Jo Kuffour

Sorry to see him go, but I thought he could do a little better than Bournemouth. I could have understood Huddersfield, Stoke or Bristol City as he would have joined ambitous clubs, but with Bournemouth he could well find himself playing in another team fighting against relegation.

Maybe he has no real personal playing amitions, but there again Bournrmouth is a nice place to live.

Jo Kuffour

When Andy McCulloch left for Sheffield Wednesday that really pissed me off but JK going doesn't bother me at all

Jo Kuffour

Bournemouth?

Says a lot for the state of things at Brentford football club, when Kuffour opts for Bournemouth, I personally don't believe all this "we can't sign players until 1st July", cobblers, we can't sign players because most players and more importantly agents know the real state of the club and avoid us like the proverbial plague

We have already signed as many as most in our division or do they not count?

So, anyone like to hazard how much we're getting for JK? As far as I know this wasn't a free...

What do you think a Bosman style transfer is VTG, who is over 24 years of age?

I will give you a clue, it starts and ends with a zero.

Was it a Bosman? Christ...
Will we ever get any money from our decent players? First the horror of the 05/06 team earning us next to nothing (apart from DJC) and now this. Meanwhile, no one wants to pay money for the tripe we have left :sorted:

Yes it was, he was given a one-year contract and will end on the 30th June.

No money will be received, if the player is out of contract and over 24 years old.

Jo Kuffour

Who'd be a Brentford supporter?

Is it just me, or has the Bosman system only served to screw clubs, especially lower down the leagues? What's the point of the Bosman ruling, anyway?

Where have you been for 10 years. It's all about freedom of movement at the end of a contract.
Why should a club have the rights to a transfer fee for a player that is no longer contracted to them?
A club has plenty of time during a contract period to improve & extend if they want to keep someone and also then retain some transfer value, should they later want to sell.

Yes I agree the Bosman ruling has screwed the income for player sales for all clubs.

The point of the ruling, I believe, is to do with freedom of movement for players out of contract. Prior to the ruling, clubs had to pay a fee for the players registration, irrespective of whether the player was in contract or not.

I believe clubs were still requesting a fee for a player, even though the club didnt want to offer a new contract to the player...... is this right?

Turner, Sammy and Tabby all commanded half decent fees, albeit we were shafted by a previous regime on the last one

Jo Kuffour

In five years' time we will have forgotten about Kuffour. He was a decent enough player in the worst side in our history which doesn't say much. I prefer to forget all of them if possible

Have you been asleep or maybe in a coma for loads of years or something?

For someone to only just realise that Kufour was a Bosman is baffling unless you listened to Mark and had everyone else on your ignore list I suppose.

It`s going to be difficult when five of the guilty could be in the side next year.:(

Pretty much, thanks for not switching me off, although for all the use it's doing I might as well go back ;)
I knew he was out of contract, I just still think that really a club should own the player and when the player moves even after the contract ends the club should get some money. Hey, call me old fashioned, I feel that it screws lower league clubs because they run on a very tight budget so can't afford to offer long-term contracts to players so more often than not they're only in for one or two years then they can move on to a bigger club where they earn that team more money in the long term. I see it as equivalent to renting someone's house and paying their mortgage, you're doing the donkey work at a high risk to yourself (as you're contracted into renting and can't afford not to have a job) and then at the end of it all that person did almost nothing to pay that house off. Bigger teams get talent from smaller clubs for free, meanwhile the smaller clubs have to risk their existence on the next 3 or 4 bright young sparks or end up relegated and insolvent. It's the general flow of all the money and talent upwards with seemingly almost nothing coming back downwards that I have a problem with.

Good post, and let's not forget there was no excitement when we signed him last year, if anything most moaned that he only scored 6 goals for Torquay, and at the time we'd have been angry if he'd been offered a long term deal.

If we get the scoting and networking right we'll unearth better prospects, just hope it's sooner rather than later.

I think many of us would agree with you, but that's how the system works now. Very hard to see how a club like us - whose financial problems are well known - would ever get a really big fee for a player now. If, for example, Charlie scored 15 goals in the first half of next season, and someone offered us £500k, we'd probably have to take it

Jo Kuffour

Easy to say in hindsight, but Kuffour was always gonna jump ship when a half decent offer came in. Did it last year to Torquay at the 11th hour. He's a good player, but has a nasty habit of being involved in teams that get relegated. With that in mind.... Thanks for the memories.... Now f*ck off!

Have we actually got a scout now?

Jo Kuffour

Bring him back!!!!

:D

why, he's jinxed!

Torquay went out of the league with him !!

Brentford had their worst ever season with him and were relegated.

Bournemouth are bottom and look doomed too!!

NO THANKS !!!!!!

Jo Kuffour

Don't know who's advising him but his career moves haven't exactly been too good so far, have they?
