According to Andy Scotts's text he was going to be our highest paid player. He was our only shining light last year next to ide, but does anybody really think that we should waste another huge chunk of the budget on one player again?

We have frampton, oconnor and brooker on huge salaries, OK, lloyd has gone, but I would rather we spent another £100K ish basic on 2-3 players and take a gamble on finding another kuffour then allow half the budget to go to 4 players.

I agree with that, Ide is a similar player but on alot less wages. He must of learnt alot last season, and he loves the club too. Good luck to Ide and Jo, on his great career move lol.

another dj , played for himself,and not bfc.1 season ,playing in a poor squad ,looked an exciting prospect,but thats it.If he had stayed ,and done the buisness next season,then he would be remembered for a long time,but come september he will be forgotten,and a new exciting prospect will be in his place.BRING IT ON CHARLIE !!!!!!!

If you did the same in brentford you would see 60 overweight girls with bleached hair sporting tattoos on their lower back or calf and dragging several loud kids around with them.

If it was not for the aggro of the upheavel and the fact my wife and her family are settled unadventurous maidonians I would move there like a shot..lovely town!

Ah right,

Maybe he was still considering us as he likes London? who knows.

He's obviously agreed deals with someone now so I guess the Brentford offer was useful to have in his favour with other contract talks. 'I love living in London and would be happy staying at Brentford, would take me a lot to move away etc etc etc blah blah'. I'm sure it put some more digits on his pay cheque.

I wish him the best, he always gave everything and showed a positive attitude on the pitch despite the mess around him. Without him I'm not sure if we'd have won half the few games we did :eek:

I'm just bitter. Jo was the type of player that I pay my money to see. Being in Division 2 is depressing. :(

I was there for the weekend (2nd june),more girls than guys,in every club,great atmosphere,lovely beach,nice town.The only down side is,the sh*te football club

Agree, it's pretty much a holiday town. Lovely beach in the summer with great views :D

That overhead against Bradford, the second against Chesterfield, the third against Blackpool :(

Probably his weakest point was finishing. He could hold the ball up against big defenders, run round players, pass, lightning fast, great vision. One of my all time favourite Bees players to watch. Just imagine what he could of done in a good Brentford side :eek:

I very much doubt that too much greed is involved in this deal. I'm sure Huddersfield would have been a better option financially had money been the case.

I personally always thought he was lazy and didnt work for the team until he got the ball. He has ability but i dont think we will miss him too much, provding we can get adequate cover. If we can get 2 or 3 more players from the money we allegedly offered Kuffour then im happy. Kuffour was good in a sh*te team, he wasnt anything special.

Do you expect him to stay refuse an increase in pay to stay down a division? It's ambition...if he goes to a league one club then good luck to him, was too good for us last season but still gave 110% every time he played. Good Luck Jo...

He was good in a poor team, but not in the same league as DJ, younger Llyod, Asaba, Forster, Taylor etc.

He wasn`t worth the sort of money being bandied about by TB.

Lets get a non-league rough diamond and move on.

You could argue that the above 4 wouldn't of shined as much in the standard of team we had last year possibly :confused:

I liked how creative Kuffour was in the final third, out wide or upfront. Shame his team mates let him down.

I can't believe some people are having a go at Jo here even if it is for a lack of ambition. He had a one year deal. Worked his socks off and decided to go for the move which suits him. Good luck to him short career and all that hopefully hes getting a good wage he deserves it.

A good player, but it was always on the cards he would go, so it's good that he's now made it clear that he's not staying so we can plan how to use the money on other players

surely with Beckham gone, Madrid would look to push Jo out wide, which as we all know is not Kuffour's best position... What with the weight of expectation that will inevitably be heaped onto his diminutive shoulders, I can really see this move backfiring for both the player and the club...

no time scale was mentioned by Scott so I dont know how you can presume Jo has mucked the club around over his move? Indeed, Scott had nothing but the best wishes for the bloke.

Players have such a short career and they have to do what is best for them and their families. Good luck to him!

I am pretty certain that the timing of the announcement has done little to damage the club or TBs preparation for next season.

TBH I coulndt give a stuff about what AS has to say about anyone leaving the club I am more interested in players coming the other way!

Several months ago I started a thread which was DJ or JK. It was almost unanimous as DJ was a clear winner.. Joe has been a credit to our club and scored some class goals. Leroy signed him up for free, and if some the other lazy ***** he played alongside had shown the same effort, we would still be in Division 1. Good luck in the future Joe and thanks for your effort and goals while you were with us.

Not too upset as it appeared pretty clear a while ago that he was off. It would feel even better if wastrels on our books costing us big bucks are moved on pretty quickly. With their salary savings plus the alleged big bucks offered to Joe back in the pot, we could make at least six decent signings.

Don't treat Bournemouth like some back water town.Its vibrant in Summer and not quiet in Winter. A good club scene and enough hoodies and stabbings to make any Londoner feel at home.Its one of the best topless beaches too :)

What did you honestly expect? Brentford's only ambition is survival. We can't compete with the smallest of clubs, and that's a fact. JK obviously wants to play in a better standard of football, and I do not blame him for that. If anything I'm disapointed we only signed him on a short term contract. i think we need to get used to the fact that we have found our level, as many on here have pointed out to me in no uncertain terms we do not have the money. We cannot have it both ways, if we can't pay decent wages we won't get decent players. We may get lucky, but be prepared for a long life in div 4. I hope I'm wrong but even with a new management team they are restricted. It however all depends on who we get in, but in all honesty the calibre of player has dramatically fallen at this club in the last year.

Don't think you can blame it all on the lazy sod playing alongside him, he was a huge disappointment though. Don't forget Jo got a 3 game ban for his elbow in another players face ( can't remember which team ) however , it was deliberate and possibly cost us in the long run.

With him in the team we may have got a few more goals and missed relegation...............then again maybe not !! We have lost better players than Joe in the past and probably will in the future........ to be honest, in my humble opinion rather him than Charlie Ide. I have a feeling this lad is going to be the dogs conkers next season.:sorted:

I loved JK but todays move has shown his little ambition..

Brentford offered him 'top' money so I believe and i can understand why he didn't sign for us being in the basement but BOURNEMOUTH????

Third favourites for relegation and thats after Jo apparently turned down Bristol City, Stoke City and failed to show for an interview at Barnsley...

Good riddance to him then if its Bournemouth over us...

was good business sense to offer him a one year deal....there was no guarentee that he was going to be a success when we signed him from Torquay. Sadly the Bees Board cannot see into the future...

Some very fickle Bees fans on this thread....players who do well, are entitled to choose where they go...If he wants to go to Bournemouth, thats his choice.....again, who's to know how it will turn out ?

The business logic is fine if the same was applied to the other players I mentioned and many that have gone before.

I'm not criticising him for going at all. Bournemouth are a similar sized club to us and no doubt he's received a decent signing on fee as they have just received a tidy sum for Hayter. I think the talk of lack of ambition is a bit rich considering our current position TBH.

One of the few players last year that can hold his head high, he gave his all every time he put on the BFC shirt!

Disappointed that we could not keep him for this season but good luck to him!
