Jo Kuffour

Kuffour and Connell upfront in a passing team with wide players :love2:

Jo Kuffour

That was the strikeforce for Torquay in part of the 2005/2006 season that finished 20th n League 2.

....................someone will get their coat.......................

Jo Kuffour

He's not what we want to be honest.

We need a target man to play alongside Connell, not another midget.

You're right....Connell and Kuffour are rubbish players :nono:

Connell out!!

Burton was one of the best target men we ever had and only 5ft 8ish.

Kuffour was pretty decent at holding the ball up for his size :sorted:

Burton was about 5ft 10 and exceptionally good in the air, Jo was not either,

Jo Kuffour

Sod Kuffour, we need a target man and that midget is not it :nono:

Jo Kuffour

I dont agree with the target man thing!
i think we need someone with pace where we can play the ball over the top when needed..
Connell holds the ball very well and links play well
but what we dont have is pace.
Connell has lots of guile and and eye for a pass so a quick striker playing off the shoulder would work well i think.

Jo Kuffour

As good as Jo was for us I don't think he has the winner's mentality or enough fire in the old belly for us. His choice of Bournemouth showed that.

Jo Kuffour

no to Jo, yes to Deon.... :bound:

Totally agree. If there was one player I would like to see return it would be Burton. I know it aint gonna happen but Burton & Connell would be a tremendous pairing

Jo Kuffour

No to Kuffour, felt he sometimes went missing in games...

Jo Kuffour

He'd probably do a job on the right wing too.

Can't believe people are saying they wouldn't want Kuffour back lol

:imwith:
We already have a target man in Thorpe, which just results in hoofball and no goals

Jo Kuffour

How many goals has Kuffour scored this season?

Karleigh Osbourne has scored as many as he has, hasn't he?

Jo Kuffour

would take him back any day

I am not so sure really....... he turned down an improved contract to go to Bournmouth so he doesn't want to be at the club that much.
As good as he was in a really sh1t side, I think its time to move on and try someone else...... they may turn out to be another DJ.... they may not...... but move on I say.

Jo Kuffour

Let's not do a disservice to Monty, who's been really good since getting a run in the side and while he is relatively slow has often held the ball up well and isn't scared to chase the goalie and put him under pressure to make a mistake. Didn't Jo just go where the most money was? Dickson and Smith have proved that that's not the attitude in the club now. Monty yes, Jo no.

Fair points VTG :sorted:

This thread needs to be moved to another forum......

I think you'll find he's too good for us and also far too good for Muff yet he is playing for them. Not enough heart.

Jo Kuffour

i would welcome Kuffour back
he was good for us last season in league one, m sure he can do it in league 2

play 3 up front

Kuffour, Thorpe, Connel

Jo Kuffour

Joe Kuffour

Leroy Rosenior knows Joe as well as anybody, and he said "He plays well for a while, then disappears." He has currently "disappeared" for Bournemouth.

We are getting results because we have 11 lion-hearted grafters playing for each other. Joe did well to score those goals last season, but he's NOT a team player.

Jo Kuffour

Whilst he was undoubtedly our best player last year, I am not sure that I would like to see him back. Torquay relegated with him, Bees relegated with him and now Bournemouth are surely going to join the club.

Seriously though I don't think he has an awful lot of ambition. I understand why he left us, but joining Bournemouth who were always going to be one of the favourites for relegation really surprised me. Particularly when it seemed that more attractive clubs were willing to sign him.

Jo Kuffour

Didn't [insert name] just go where the most money was?

Bournemouth were a bigger club then us in a higher league when Jo left and Brentford were a complete shambles, I can hardly blame him for moving.

Jo Kuffour :love2:

Bournemouth v Huddersfield?? Come on, I cant blame him moving to Huddersfield but Bournemouth ?? :nono:

Jo Kuffour

That cretin Tom Watt was probably right last season when he implied that Jo Osei Kuffour seems to have everything but there must be something wrong with him as he hasn't made it.

He knew him from Arsenal youth set up, thought he was probably too small and lightweight to hold down a regular place in the premiership but he'd star below that level. Well he hasn't and I suspect that Jo is a crowd pleaser individual skill made him stand out in a poor side.

Whether he'll ever become anything other than a player who should have made it, who knows but don't think given tight budgets he is the answer.

If you've seen the Bournemouth beaches in summer you'll know why he chose it over Huddersfield......WOOOOOOOWWWWWWZZZEEEERRRR!

Jo Kuffour

Connell or Kuffour, who would you prefer? No way can you play the pair up front... no contest.

Jo would not get into our current side except maybe on the right side... and now we have some potential better players for there. I doubt if he's an Andy Scott type of player anyway. We need a centre-forward!

Jo Kuffour

I live in Bournemouth and their supporters do not put him very high up the pecking order. I told them he was one of our best last year. They said he has never looked like one of their best. Good job he has gone.

Alan Connell in league 2 - App 16 Gls - 6

Jo Kuffour in league 1 - App 38 Gls - 12

Be interesting to see how many Alan can bang in for the rest of the season.

Interesting scouting report from Claridge

Oh behave ffs.

It was common knowledge there were probs at Bournemouth before Jo even got there. Huddersfield was a far better option for his playing careeer than Muff and him and his agent must have been thick as sh*te to have gone for that option rather than Huddersfield

On the "team spirit" front he was apparantly hardly a team player and that sort of person is not what we need right now at BFC - we dont need a Billy big b***ocks or in his case a Billy shortarse

Maybe it's about hunger and ambition, don't know Jo but maybe he was happy with earning at the same sort of level he's got used to in the south.

Bournemouth are and always will be(as long as they exist) be a small lower league club with ground and gates to match, along with Torquay and some would suggest Brentford.
Huddersfield, much as I hate them have history, a fanbase, the ground and set up, so arguably the capacity and potential to be better than they have been of recent years.

He single handly tried to win games for us last season

You have some real hate for him

In terms of skill and pace he's several classes above anything we have at the moment.

Maybe he hasn't worked with the right manager to get the best out of him, look how sh*te our current players were under Butcher, now they're suddenly heros. He was the main shining light last season and deserved to win player of the year for the effort he put in for us.

and the fact that Alan Connell is so much better than any player in this league

Jo Kuffour

I would have loved to have seen an Owusu/Kuffour pairing up front for us this season, even under Butcher I think they would have thrived IMO

Jo Kuffour

Should have kept Owusu, there are goals from him and he wears the red & white with pride. (I think)
