Smith played in the friendly yesterday. Perhaps he's been injured. He's making it onto the pitch in a friendly at least. Him in Poole out though for a bit if possible.

I dislike this scumbag as much as anybody, but is there a chance that this bloke although a midget might be the sort of player who could win the ball in midfield?

We have far too many midfielders and we need a forward more than a midfielder, but TB's choice of players he brought has been totally bizaar as is the team selection so it would not surprise me to see this scroat at our club.

Why cant he see we need a forward?

... or perhaps he does. I would've thought he had a lot of faith in Ide and Connell at the start of the season and neither have really fired. The budget was taken up until last Friday but maybe now there is enough room to bring a loan forward in.

Of course there is the added problem of getting a DECENT forward in, as they tend to not to be available. Butler has gone to Grimsby on loan and as far as I can see was the only proven scorer currently available.
We needed forwards last season and managed to get hold of Wiijnaard, Onion Bhaji & Shipperley. All of which flopped. Good forwards are hard to come by at little or no cost.
Has anyone got any ideas who may be available that falls into the proven scorer bracket. Because our only other option will be a young inexperienced forward on loan and they may not be any better than Connell, Ide or Montague. :fishing:

Since he made his debut for Chelsea in 1995 he has only been red carded twice and that was with Milwall which probably says it all (maybe under Wise's guidance). That's not a particularly bad record considering he is supposed to be a 'combative' type midfielder. Disiplinary record however outside of football as we all know is a very different matter.

I'm not sure if a players personal off field issues are really the point ,given the dire straits we are in. Morris has played a lot of games at a much higher level after all. As pointed out earlier, he doesn't have a bad record on the pitch. Give him a shot I say, can't be any worse! Mind you , I would imagine there are many who would deny a player a fair cahnce for all kinds of reasons. I suppose there would have been a backlash if we had signed Justin Fashanu in his twilight years, on account of his "shirt lifting tendancies". Damned good player though!

Dont see the logic in spending more money to bring in yet another midfielder when we are crying out for some options up front and at the back

I thought everyone was innocent until proven guilty. Morris has only been charged with a motoring offence ( driving the wrong way up a one way street).
He was good enough for Millwall (70 plus games for the Lions), so he should certainly be good enough for us. Beggars cant be choosers you know. IF he adds bite to our midfield ( something we have been lacking) then i say have him in on a match to match basis.
I cant see players linig up to play for us ,can you? I cant see the Millwall fans tolerating sh*t either.

"and being arrested on November 1 2006 driving the wrong way down a one-way street, he was convicted for the second time of drink driving and was disqualified from driving for 4 years, given 80 hours community service and a 2 year suspended jail sentence."

Bit more than a 3 pointer and £60 though.

Yes LEB, your quite right. Just checked it on Wikipedia.
Lets be glad he never hurt or killed anybody.
However, I still think he might be an asset to our midfield, but please TB, NOT a 2yr deal please.

Only talking about off the pitch.

First hand knowledge, seen him misbehaving with my own eyes, trust me he's 'orrible, arrogant and has an awful case of little man syndrome. I'm sure the only reason he's still in one piece is because of the company he keeps.

There's a long list of arrests though, a couple for far worse than d/d and while he wasn't convicted, it would appear he's either been persecuted, incredibly unlucky or a wrong 'un.

If he wasn't loud, cocky, and aggressive he might not find himself in the amount of trouble that he has so far.

No one will convince me that we should take on someone like him, he's not some lovable rogue with ability, he's a waster who didn't deserve or apply the ability he had.

I personally dispite the trouble he has been in throughout the past, he is just what we need a hard tackling midfielder, better than any of the girls playing at the moment, apart from mousinho. Are midfield is walked through maybe Morris would add something there, tighten it up. My view give him a short contract see what he delivers.

Can't see this as being anything but a red herring unless he is offering to play for peanuts or play on a pay as you go basis.

We have midfield players consisting of KOC, Mous, Smith, Moore, Pead, Poole, Shakes ( sort of half and half) and Carder Andrews...what do we need with another one to join the 6 other sub 5ft 9inch midfield players?

Because of those midfielders only Mousinho and Moore have any bite. Smith seems out of favour in a similar vein to Tillen, Carder-Andrews isn't getting a look atm either. Poole is more of a winder as is Shakes. Pead might still come good it's early days but he doesn't seem to agressive and O Conner physically is a fairy

We are not exactly over run with quality at the moment and if he can a job for us, then he should be given a chance. Providing of course, he is not another Brooker/shares Brookers agent/knows Brooker/walked past him in the High Street etc etc.

I would get him on a pay and play basis for a few weeks.

I suppose we need yet another midfield player. Personally I would be much more impressed if we were trialling a striker, but our management team seem to think that we only need midfielders and defenders.

we could put out a midfield of Smith, Morris, Moore & Poole then have Pead & Tillen as fullbacks with Ide playing alongside snow white our new centre forward. :D

Given that he did not play in the Reading 'friendly' and that we've quite a collection of mid-sized mid-fielders, could it be that he's just training with BFC to keep fit and out of the hands of the constabulary while he is between clubs?

... or can he play left back?

Ther are a lot of horrible nasty arrogant, drunk, motoring offenders, scrapping at the weekend, shagging on holidays with your mates, gettin arrested for being drunk here or there etc etc etc people in this world. but what counts is what you can produce for your boss. I dont condone this behaviuor at all but if i was TB, and i really thought he could produce and bring something to my club, i.would do it so...Week to week or month to month contract..1 mistake.. Just 1..not just off the pitch, but training, and all around how he conducts himself Auf Wiedersehen...

It's as much about the measure of the capabilities of the manager in handling 'characters'. If Mr. Morris can perform on the pitch and can be managed off it, then he would a worthy addition to a lacklustre squad.

I always give my boys 1 chance, sometimes 2 depending on the Offence they have commited..Like you say Nigel its all about man managment. If he is better than what you have and can produce, set the Guidelines and rules and step over the line or break the rules, or worst of all disrespect me as yor trainer, which is infact is the same as the 1st 2 things ... F..K OFF!!!!

Todays Richmond & Twickenham Times says that Tels passed up the chance to sign him saying he doesnt offer us anything we havent already got. :sorted: Sadly he went on to say he might consider him in the future. :(

Why - what would he offer in the future that he can't offer now? Or who is leaving us in the future? :confused: :shrug:
