I dont know the politics, but I do know that the abuse is way over the top. Especially from a lot of folk that should have known better.

Seconded. My views on all this and they way he - and others - are villified on this board are well documented, and right now said views are simply unprintable. Well done. 150 years ago and I bet you lot would have been first around the scaffold to see the dead men squirm.

Oh dear lord rofl

He has helped Ron f**k up BFC :sorted: He has taken money out of BFC on the basis of him 'working' for the Club :sorted:

The bloke should never have been there, was too vain to admit it and ended up being forced out(or thats how I read this given the support he has been receiving from both BFC and BU Boards over recent weeks) BUT still wants a pay off :sorted:

Downes had to go and although I freely admit I do not know the ins and outs of JM's work at the club, certainly the overwhelming view is that he had to go too. But what i have been saying, and what simply just does not seem to be getting through to some people  is that the manner in which the topic is discussed removes any sort of legitimacy or validity from it, and it has long since become nothing but meaningless playground bullying.

If you were gainfully employed in 1912, you'd have been selling tickets for the 2nd voyage of the Titanic, no doubt. Or would you have been busy arranging deckchairs on the first?

John Mac was the wrong person for the role he held at Griffin Park. No-one had the guts for a very long time to grasp the nettle and get it sorted out. It's a great shame that the total lack of management/Board capability at GP has allowed this situation to drag on for so long. John Mac was never going to go of his own free will.

JB has got his work cut out making any changes with a dysfunctional BU Board and a matching BFC Board, no communications strategy in evidence from either of them and a CEO who thinks he's still in the services giving orders.

I'm sure the message is getting through but most of us are ignoring it because it's flat out wrong. If JM - or you, for that matter - don't like what is written on here, don't read it. It's not as though JM came on here and explained his actions or defended himself, is it? So there was no reason to be looking at the messages in the first place.

The message that neither you or the other members of the cheerleading squad seem to be able to grasp is that if BU/BFC had clue one in how to talk with and deal with people who have difficult and awkward questions to ask, then perhaps the level of vitriol on here would be less. Ignoring people who care enough about the Club to get engaged with the issues and then using their behaviour borne from their frustration as a further excuse not to deal directly with them is unacceptable for me.

and where was Eddie Rampant Rogers in all of this e.g. our Chairman

and where was Herting in all of this, he runs a company so he could see what wasn't right

Loads of questions could be asked especially of the two above but we have to get through the dooor of the Boardroom Bunker first !

Given the fact that JB was one of the people who wrote the original BU governance review, will he be standing down from the BU board with immediate effect?

John Mac Has Resigned (Split/Merged Threads)

The BU Statement doesn't say whether Joe Bourke's appointment is executive or non-executive. As John was an Executive Director as Joe is "John's replacement on the Club board", does this mean that Joe is an Executive Director?

I have seen and heard how those questions are put, and as i have said before, the manner in which its been done is enough to put anybody's back up. Please u\stand that I am not necessarily saying that JM or AF or anybody else in the club is squeaky clean, but just that you do not remedy difficult situations by throwing bombs at it.

OK, I am obviously not communicating this idea very well so I will try again.

'Throwing bombs' at the situation is almost certainly not how these situations start. People on here try to communicate their dissatisfaction to the Club and either get no response or a snotty one. When the Club made major bloomers last season with ticketing issues, we were lied to outright. Given that the Club do not hold regular Forums where any fan can turn up and ask any question with a reasonable expectation of getting a straight answer (and accepting that, sometimes, the Club can't answer them), this is one of the places where the dissatisfaction will be expressed. This is not poor little BFC/BU and nasty old GPG moaning minnies. Those organisations have played their part in the current relationship between many of the posters on here and themselves. It didn't spring, fully-formed, from the ether.

Fair point NB and I do apprecaite that. I also recognise that I do not have the level of involvement with BIAS/BU/BFC that you and some others have, and thus do not get exposed to those areas that are obviously very frustrating, and probably downright annoying. I just like a good arguement, really....!!! :D

John Mac Has Resigned (Split/Merged Threads)

The timing is either very shrewd or about a day or two too late - I'm sure I read somewhere on here that we had to provide 2 weeks notice if we were going to be exercising the option. I'd imagine a few of our wealthier supporters are getting lots of phone calls from BU board members as we are reading this thread in the hope that they can be persuaded to get the Back The Bees total up to £1m by the end of today.

Southampton will always be the albatross around JM's neck....if only some honesty had been forthcoming that week and the fans not treated like naughty schoolkids then JM might have, just might have, been able to continue.Instead he went from one cock up to another and his arrogance became his undoing...IMHO...

John Mac Has Resigned (Split/Merged Threads)

there are too many 'factions' within us supporters trying to say this and say that.whats right and whats wrong, the budget for the year hasn't been worked out properly, the toilets broken, the foods crap, the stewards are B*@S*#R~S, etc etc. whoever is on the BFC board from the supporters will never be right, there'll always be someone making comments about this board member whose supposedly a supporter but doesn't divulge whats going on. if and when supporters get control, the board will always upset the odd one or two, thats politics. it will be worse probably as all the 5500 supporters will all want a say!! as we 'own' the club. this will have a knock on effect with managers, players and staff no doubt. Where's the man/woman with £8 million to buy the club, chuck out bees united and all the board and run it from scratch with new board members and run it how they want. if only.

Mr Wanderer Paul,

The problem is

The budget has not been worked out correctly, toilets have not been repaired, the food is bad, the stewards are not friendly and helpfull and on and on

Those matters are all the responsibility of those tasked with making sure that the budget is correct, toilets are repaired, food is good value for money and the stewards are of a decent level etc etc - If all these matters had arisen over the last few months and action as to how these matters are being resolved was communicated then we have no problem.

The problem is, these are very long term problems and very little if no communication is given as to what action is being taken to put them right. The people tasked with taking care of these problems are not taking care of them - and therfore the people who pay their money are, in my view allowed to be disapointed and voice their grievance once it becomes obvious that little or nothing is being done.

Brentford Football Club is a business - It survives by having customers - Customers have the final say because it is the customer who provides the money for the business to continue (Note for Mr Finch - Please read this paragraph and commit to memory)

I will agree that some progress has been made. The new Club Shop and The Princess Royal both appear to exceeding expectations and that is a good thing. But Brentford needs much more than that to be able to survive.

What would I do - To start with, hold an open forum to explain exactly what problems the Club has and be ready for all the flack with responsive answers that the Club can be held accountable for - Take full note of the supporters (Customers) problems and do the same - The Club then keeps the fan base fully up to date with progress or problems on each matter - The fans start to have faith, goodwill starts festering to the top and on we go.

I will be thr first to agree that sometimes problems are difficult to resolve without having the cash to resolve them - If that is the case then just say so - It stops all the 2nd guessing etc.

i agree with what your saying but as soon as a 'supporter' goes on the board its all hush hush, don't say this or that to anyone. where's Joe Bourke now? he won't come on here and say whats going on because its not the correct thing to do. thats why i'm saying the whole board needs clearing out. as you say, if it was you, you'd go back to basics and listen to supporters and go from there, unfortunately it'll never happen unless you've got £8 mill to go with your outstanding contribution the other day!!??? (great support from you and others by the way) theres no openness, communication or anything from the prsent board, even last months fans forum for the 10 invited was all kept quiet and the agenda not put on any site to view or comment on. its very frustrating as this club has been part of me for 32 years,(40 now!) even my sons coming round to BFC and wearing his shirt!!! i'm not business minded or able to run a club, but theres so many people with differing views. PMA!! Come october 1 we'll know whats going to happen. first thing will be to have as you say an open forum, even if it takes all day to go through questions, but the questions are answered and noted and not just swept under the carpet.

Er, he not allowed to post on here now. The Club have barred this website for directors or club employees to post messages.

IMHO He shouldn't been posting that crap in the first place when he was just a humble BU board member. He just couldn't help himself and this was with Brian Burgess's tacit approval. It was extremely damaging and totally wrong for a so-called professional organisation to go about its business.

Dropping tit bits of potential news is a joke, especially when he knew he was in line for a place of the board. His style is in complete contrast to that of Andrew Wainwright, who has my total respect.

Let's not forget two weeks or so back Joe said on here that John Mac's employment at BFC was "fine by me".
