As we all know David Hunt has a long throw and in the wibs formation Delap was being shown as a right back, something which Hunty has done on a regular basis.

Failing that if the long throw is an essential part of the plan what about our own Clayton or has he played for some obscure Caribbean island:fishing:

Hunty is in the squad but I'm not sure he will make the starting line up. Are there any other premier league English long throw experts?

I like the idea of Wibs' exdperiment and it would probably see us as more successful than we've ever been in the Euros.

Maybe dirty route 1 hoofball is the way forward for the FA.

Right or wrong? There were quite a few outraged people ringing Five Live last night, but a similar number giving it the "everybody makes mistakes" line.

So why aren't you complaining at Meirieles then ??

The Champions League is won over a season so all players should share in the glory

In Chelseas case it has been almost won for so many seasons (9 ??) all of which terry was a part

Disagree with that. If he played both legs against Barcelona and got a yellow card for time wasting/taking a player down when they were away, then he I don't think people would have a problem with the captain getting a medal and lift the trophy etc.

What annoys people (me anyway) is that he let down his team and they won it inspite of his stupidity. The performance at the Nou Camp with 10 men and last night in Munich were a large part of what won them the trophy and Terry owe's his team-mates big time for that. Just a shame he didn't realise that and hold back a bit...

He will be at lords tomorrow in full whites in case we best the west indies.. .at Monaco next weekend in mcclaren race suit and helmet just in case .. Jamaican sprint kit during the London Olympic 100 metres .. Nearly as bad as David May when united won in1999

share in the celebrations but none of the suspended players are winners really, playing in the final is where it matters...is Ross Turnbull really a champions league winner? Not for me

This seems to now be the main talking point......I just don't get it , two players that are Chelsea are Lampard and Terry, not a single Chelsea fan would have wanted anyone else lifting the Cup

I'd have had Drogba lift it, 5 in 6 in Europe this season and the winning penalty in the final.

Why shouldn't he be on the pitch celebrating? He is club captain and it's a completion you had to get through a group stage and then the knock-out stage and he played apart in those games so righty should be out there wheather you like the guy or not.

yes celebrate on the pitch but he had no part in helping them win the match...i hope he feels gutted for a long long time..he seems to have no sense of right and wrong

No reason he shouldn't be on the pitch celebrating, it's just the whole kit thing that seems rather tacky to be honest. It was his own idiocy that got him banned from the match in the first place.

If Terry is allowed to lift the trophy because he 'helped' Chelsea get to the final, then surely Vilas Boas should have been allowed to as he also helped them get to the final...

And what about the hundreds of players who've played for them since they were elected into the League.

Seriously, I don't have a problem with Terry holding the cup during the parade, but not at the game, and certainly, certainly not in his kit.

Do think that Footballer of the year should have been delayed: I can't see past Drogba, and not just because he's big.

Agree with last two bits. Drogba has so impressed me. Re holding trophy agree but it's between his supporters and him and they would have wanted it.

I have no objections to JT taking part in the after match celebrations. However, I think he would have more friends if he had politely refused to lift the cup and act like an all conquering hero. Yes he played his part in Chelsea getting to the final, but his own stupidty stopped him playing a part in Chelsea's biggest night in their history. In his own heart he must know that for him it was a false triumph.

It's not a case of 'didn't play much', if he'd got himself stupidly sent off in the JPT semi final for instance and nearly ruined the entire team's chances there are more respectable things to do that get up there, and lift it as if you did the team any favours on the journey there. They won it in spite of John Terry's best efforts. He played well against Napoli in the second leg, but that's not what they're lifting the trophy for.

Joining the players out on the pitch for the victory parade in his suit should have been enough, I believe that's what most suspended or injured players do. He probably changed into his kit so in the pictures it looks like he played. I bet he couldn't bear to have pics out there of him holding the trophy while wearing a suit, as in years to come, when the memories have faded, his chav mates would come round his mansion, see the framed pics on the wall ask why he's in a suit. Time after time he'd have to admit "er yeah, I was suspended for the final".

Its a matter of opinion, and mine is that drogba had a great game in the second leg versus barca, his only contribution to the final was a great header and and a seriously coolly taken penalty. He scored a fantastic goal in the FA cup final. If that constitutes player of the year then let him have it, if it is indeed based on a whole year then he has done very little in the preceding 11 months. I know a lot of Chelsea fans who say he has only turned up to 1 in 5 games this season. Only my opinion though.
