Given the amount of evidence and accusations of constitutional racism in the Lawrence case, perhaps she feels that ethnic minority victims are more likely to need her support and media presence than white victims?

Whilst I hope things have improved in that regard over the years, i can see why her personal experiences would lead her to taking a personal interest in cases of White on minority racism, especially where a high profile figure is involved.

Even forgetting about all the other activities he has done that have brought our national game into disrepute, to make racist comments is totally unacceptable. No one is saying John Terry is a racist. People seem to be confused over that fact.

Even the prosecutor said 'I dont think your a racist'. The case doesn't judge the abstract concept of whether 'Terry is a racist' or not. It is simply a judgement of whether John Terry said racist abuse or not.

John Terry could have a million black friends, the entire chelsea team can swear on the bible that Terry is not a racist. That is all a sideshow, a distraction from the real issue, which is: Did John Terry call Ferdinand a "f**king black c**t" or not.

But Anton Ferdinand said that he never accused Terry of calling him a "black c**t"? Why is that less believable?

In fact, from the evidence it is indisputable that Terry said "f**king black c**t", but no one has testified that Anton Ferdinand said it, or accused him of it in the first place. The closest the defence has come, is in Ashley Cole who said "Ferdinand might have said 'black' or 'Bridgey'. Even their star witness couldn't verify Terry's story. The lip readers have also said that they didn't see Ferdinand utter the phrase, but that John Terry did.

So all the evidence is against Terry, yet you choose to believe him over Ferdinand?

from what I have read and heard I believe Terry, i didn't know about the lip reader about Terry.. If he's found guilty then justice has been served

I think the more likely response to some accusing you of calling them a black **** would be to say "what did you think I called you?" or "what?".

Not to shout back "Hey hey, I never called you a f***ing black c**t". I certainly wouldn't have added in a swearword if someone thought I was racially abusing them.

Used it so freely? What you mean in the police interview? Why would he struggle to say the words in an interview? I hear people discussing the case repeating the words, are they all low lifes? Same can be said of you writing the phrase so freely on here surely?

I agree with all of this apart from neither coming out with any credit. Terry's reputation was so low I think a not guilty verdict may give him a victim status in some areas of the media. The fact is the media can't argue with the courts verdict, if that's what happens, so any future accusations of him being a racist are liable and unfair so it will probably be easier to attack the Ferdinands.

My take on it is that Terry is lying about his response and is in too deep to change his version of events. Both come out with little credibility and very bad role models. I still believe that the first Ferdinand knnew about the racist element was when he was told by others. I have heard that he was OK and did shake hands with Terry outside the dressing rooms. His anger and reason for pursuing rightly or wrongly is that he felt he was "mugged off" by Terry who only came and found him to keep him quiet knowing as he'd been made aware that he was potentially in trouble.

This sort of language is regularly used on the football field and f****** and c*** are quite common in cricket as well - and I dare say other sports. It is absurd that we are paying for this prosecution. Ferdinand is now saying he wan't it to come to court (although I suspect he may have changed his mind on this), the lawyers are having a field day and DPP should be focussing on far more important things.

This is why a 'guilty', 'not guilty' and 'not proven' category in court would be helpful.

There is history as they both played for the same club Senrab but weren't ever friends, I may be wrong but don't think they were fighting for same position as King was a defender and Terry a midfielder back in the day.
