In an ideal world there wouldn't be any difference. Not quite there though and there does exist a small but significant minority of people who hold properly racist and discriminatory views. Until that is gone, making a remark about anyone's race is likely to be taken as a significant offence.

Agree mate, both gutless hypocrites, King happy to forgive and forget because they played together as kids and Terry is untouchable - some example that is to kids everywhere

Same here.

The modern day footballer profile and characters like Terry, Cole, Rooney, King, Ashley Young, Wiltshire are the very worst role models - overpaid scrotes to a man.
As a result there's an apathy from genuine football fans towards the National team and when you hear booing of
players when wearing the three lions you know something is wrong.
Without getting too nostalgic as past players weren't angels but the press weren't as intrusive, at least players from yesteryear related to the fans. Compare people like Moore,
Hurst, and even Best all who I've met and spent time with and were far better players and far nicer people than Thd current lowlife.

Personally i don't get this role model arguement. Role models should be your parents, teachers, etc. Footballers and how they led their lives were never my role models as a kid back in the 60's & 70's.

Fair do's but for a lot of us the likes of Moore, Hurst, Osgood, Best, Clarke etc were our heroes, their photos from Shoot were cut out and sellotaped on the wall
and we wanted to be like them when we grew up.

How can anyone want to be Terry or Cole or even Rooney?

If they weren't a role model in the 60s and 70s, they haven't a hope in hell nowadays.

Any kid who considers Terry a role model should be taken into care, their parents sterilized and their grandparents shot in front of them.

The police should not have got involved. As with Suarez , the FA should have moved swiftly to deal with the matter. As with any matter where there is the slightest hint of racism the police tend to go OTT. I don't condone racism but commonsense should prevail.

What 'common sense'? That it's ok to say what Terry said as it was only on a football pitch? Or as Blatter said, shake hands and forget about it? JT should get what ever is coming to him. The FA has baulked at a decision as it would affect Terry's chances of going to the Euros. JT will fit in well in eastern Europe.

Terry isn't good enough to pay top level football, notwithstanding he is in court.

It woud be brilliant if his ploy to delay the trail backfired and The FA said "sorry can't pick you due to pending trail...."

As I said, I don't condone such behaviour. It's just that the police are often too quick to prosecute when there alternative solutions. Hammers to crack nuts springs to mind.
