exactly. the Sun had to resort to a back page headline about "Anton getting shirty" today... he was pictured wearing an anti-racism t-shirt before his match at the weekend... same as every other player in the country this weekend! back page spread for the SUN. what a sh*t newspaper. :love:

It's all very strange but again allegedly Ferdinand knew nothing about the racial abuse and didn't hear anything until You tube was shown to him. The story goes that JT was tipped off that people were talking about it so he popped into the QPR changing room and asked to have a quick chat outside with Ferdinand. Again not there and third hand account but Terry played down the row and just wanted to make sure that AF OK after their running row and that no hard feelings as all heat of the moment " AF agreed, they shook hands and parted and it was only later that AF was made aware of the allegations and by all accounts he was annoyed that Terry had played and used him so decided to follow up.
i've read nothing that states what either party has submitted or indeed if either of them have written a statement?

It all feels like we're heading for a not proven and JT makes a statement saying "It's all a huge misunderstanding, as an Ambassador for Kick racism out of football, I've lived and been brought up in a multi ethnic community, grown up with, played with, been mates with,slept with many black people and I love them more than my own family so would never have said something like. My club, Anton and anyone else who knows me know I didn't say it as the press have implied so while I've nothing to apologise for I will be throwing my weight behind this initiative even more."

Of course it will because the ref obviously didn't hear it, Chelsea players aren't going to go against their own captain as they'll probably get sacked and that leaves an opposition fan(s) as a witness. The reason it's gone on for so long is because he stupidly keeps changing his story. It'll probably be the same with Suarez and Evra.

I think it's a shame the captain of the national team is so reviled by anyone who doesn't support Chelsea. That is the fault of the man himself, and nobody else.

Totally agree. But the question I would ask is 'why?'. How does one footballer become revered (even by fans outside of his domestic club) and how does another become reviled? What is the nature of the processes that take place that has led to the (lack of) status JT has with the average English football fan, despite the fact he captains the country?

I'm sure if some of the Chelsea fans took their blinkers off, they would dislike the bloke as well.

He is a horrible example of humanity and anyone who considers him a role model for kids shouldn't be allowed to have kids.

Rather oddly the QPR owner has come out in support of him leading England next week. My reading of his comments is that there is probably nothing in the allegation...much as one may dislike Terry as a person I wonder if this has all been a storm in a teacup?

yep, weird that. my point of view (not necessarily fact) is the cameras caught him saying the racist comment but anton didn't hear it so can't give evidence (or one of the terry clan has paid him to keep schtum). if he didn't say it, why is his mouth all blurred whenever they show the clip on TV?

i thought it interesting that you have the owner saying Terry should play for england, then the manager, warn(out c)ock, saying the fans who sang, "anton ferdinand, you know what you are" should be sent to jail. bizarre.
btw, has that QPR documentary been on telly yet? sounds like another ooportunity to point and laugh.

The camera/footage don't lie, JT has admitted he uttered the word "black" although originally it was"blind".
He's been caught bang to rights for the second time(Ledley King) but I suspect because he's an Ambassador for "Kick racism out of football " it would be a an Own goal if guilty so better all round if it was swept under the carpet.

In summary the next lower tier footballer accused will be banned for life or whipped within an inch of his life but JT being found guilty would f**k things right up so how about a not proven.

The geezers scum city but Teflon and worse he knows it!

you're joking right? Surely if the campaign has to have any credence he should be utterly condemned by them IF found guilty.

I bet there was a better penalty taker available, but "Salomon Kalou wins the Champions League for Chelsea" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Probably.But they are not on 135k a week,England capt,CFC capt,a so called,Chelsea legend and an obnoxious ****** who waved his tadger at people watching a tragedy on tv,9/11.....He sets himself up to be knocked and ridiculed so he only has himself to blame.When people get miffed about our beautiful game you can be rest assured that the born leader that is JTs antics are the reasons,or at least some of them,why.To top it all he is apparently not a nice bloke and that is putting it mildly.

Telling a racist joke in the pub with your mates is different from being racist to a black colleague. I don't think Terry's necessarily racist, if he genuinely had something against black people he wouldn't have stayed at Chelsea for so long. He's just horrible person, and an idiot. I guess he was annoyed/wanted to wind up Ferdinand and the easiest way for someone as ignorant as him is to say something that is taboo and will get an instant reaction.

Sorry can't see any excuse, using racist comments to wind people up is the action of RACISTS!
Also why wouldn't he have stayed at Chelsea for so long
if he was a racist? Would he have requested a transfer to a whites only club? What makes it worse is that he will have received plenty of media training over the years, about how to speak and conduct yourself in front of the camera. They are also reminded and are very aware that the cameras are on them and they are role models, hence why you don't get any real punch ups of mass brawls in The Premiership anymore.
I am of an age where what was tolerated if not acceptable years ago rightly is no longer ok.
Terry is of a generation where he should not find it hard to adapt because has been brought up in a multi cultural, ethnic society and in a profession where I believe circa
25% of all players are black or not white. His behaviour before, he has previous form, during and particularly after the incident disgusts me and I really hope he is found guilty, severely punished and made an example of.
