Welcome Josh, and congratulations on making a very wise career move, I am sure you won't regret it.

I have just one reservation. We have enough arguments on this site already, but with the scope now for everyone getting the wrong Josh or the wrong Dasilva, it could get very messy indeed.

Can we rule out Ancelotti being so impressed by JM's start to the season that he's made a bid to take him to Napoli then?

Not sure if been posted yet but DaSilva said he’s a box to box midfielder in his brentford interview.

It would certainly be interesting for someone (not me) to calculate the number of players currently under 21 who are internationals for their chosen country. I'd guess it to be over 50%.

Pleasant surprise, really didn’t think we would be getting anyone else in.

With or without Woods, our midfield is now seriously stacked! Hopefully we can keep everyone happy.

I contacted my Arsenal supporting pal (he sometimes writes for "The Daily Cannon" fanzine website) this morning as news of this transfer broke.

He rated the guy's chances at Arsenal, so much so he assumed it was only a loan. Was a tad surprised it was permanent.

Interesting signing. Firstly let me say, Welcome abroad Joshua !!!

Having viewed the 2 minute clip on Youtube - can't judge too much from that

but on first impressions, he reminded me of Yaya Toure (in movement) and

dare I say, a very young Patrick Vieira !! It's all good.

I assume he's an arsenal fan having been there since a youngster, says alot about our progression we've managed to lure him away from there to be apart of our exciting future, it must have been terribly difficult to leave. As we heard from Josh the other day, even a 5 year deal with real Madrid couldn't lure him away but little old Brentford have managed to seal the deal ;)

It’s just dawned on me that I saw his Arsenal debut v. Donny last year! ( don’t recall him though!).

There seems to be some tw*tterspeak around Bristol C, & they couldn’t sign him straight away because of FFP. If so, well done DoFs for jumping in ahead again.

Looks like he was pretty highly regarded and not just another youth player who didn't make it. Could be a real coup if he keeps developing (and we're not bad at that are we!).

At first glance he looks exactly what we need. Big, strong, very good technically and knows where the goal is. I’m not so sure he’s a ‘develop over 2 years’ player as some have suggested. Could well be at a similar level to konsa but without the league experience. V excited by this one...

A fascinating appointment. Clearly rated by Arsenal and put forward by Wenger that this could be his break through season. I wonder what made him reject a contract at Arsenal then and become unemployed whilst he found another club? can't be the money as I would guess he could have earned more by staying there, maybe got bad vibes from Emery...or maybe our reputation is even bigger than we think amongst up and coming youngsters.

He was part of that England Under 19 team that won the Eoros last summer. Another member of that squad was Ezri Konsa. I wonder if he's put a good word in about the environment. Another great signing and by all accounts one that will battle for a first team place

And that Emile smith Rowe guy looked some player in arsenal’s Pre season games so to be said in same breath by Arsene Wenger is very promising

Clearly if we can prize someone away from the Gooners who they were prepared to offer a new deal to

A) We have a real prospect on our hands
B) Our DoFs etc are doing one hell of a job selling TW8 to people

At this rate we will have own own busby babes team . Maybe that’s what’s giving josh MC extra confidence as in past he would have been the youngster of team asked to play a key role in team (as opposed to wide player etc) now he is one of senior pro’s

I imagine it was more heavily weighted the other way around; Rasmus getting a character reference from Ezri.

It's a different world now. An 'unemployed' footballer who's been at a top club like Arsenal, even at 19 years of age, has probably got more money in his account than the majority of us on this forum will ever see! I wouldn't have thought he was looking out for the nearest food bank!

I would be interested to know whats gone on in the background on this one. I find it hard to believe that the kid has turned down a contract with Arsenal without being sure something was in the pipeline. Anyway, another signing with massive potential. How are we going to keep everyone happy? We brought on 3 full internationals from the bench on Sunday ffs.. Gotta love the little old Pub Team these days :-)
