Not sure how it works. We already were playing our 2nd team and for this game, as you say, it was almost a 3rd XI with the 3 Scottish blokes brought in. Meanwhile, is it Derbyshire, who are just not playing their games and so the Northern group is based on pts/game average. Why are we playing and they are not. Not that I'm complaining too much as we keep winning in this format.

Really hoping Kent can finish off a fantastic day. But for those not watching, 2 incidents to try and watch
Firstly, the 'catch' that was given as a six.
Secondly, the catch for the 6th Somerset Wicket. Those type of catches seem to be commonplace nowadays but this one was just a bit more special.

Yes as a Sussex fan went to edgbaston (instead of molineux) and have to admit Kent deserved it. Best game was the first semi though.

Yes, well played Kent. Glad the evergreen Darren Stevens has played his part this season. My Dad's a Kent fan, having been born there, so I favour them over Middx., but he took me to my first Bees game, and his own club Sheppey United are not quite an EFL team - but they do play in red & white stripes!

Well done Kent. From nowhere, six straight wins and a great chance of the quarter finals. Looking forward to the game next Friday! Daniel Bell Drummond has been the stand out player with good cameos from Denly and Cox. Spitfires are go!

Going through a purple patch although until today, mostly in T20 only. Until this innings, only had 190 in 9 innings in the County Championship this year. Never say never, and he's still only 29, but I think his day has probably gone. Was talked about a lot as future England player in his early twenties but has never really been consistent enough.
Feel like Voice a bit. Slagged them off and all of a sudden they're winning every game. Long may it continue

Well it's down to the last round of matches tomorrow and somehow we've put ourselves in pole position for that last qualifying spot. With Sussex losing today, it's down to us or Essex. Have the advantage of playing late as well so will know exactly what we have to do although if we can beat Somerset away, then that should be job done. Unfortunately, Somerset have the best record of anyone so that's no gimme. Fortunately Essex have to win at Surrey who still have to get a result to ensure themselves a home q/f tie so could sneak in regardless. Getting to the Q/F's would be a success after the start we had in this tournament but then, who knows with this Kent side. On their day they can beat anyone. Might need to beat Somerset away again though to get to Finals Day. Anyhow, I'll be glued to the telly box from 6.30 tomorrow

This season can't come to an end soon enough. 10 Championship games and just 9 batting bonus points. Amazingly won one game early on but 6 defeats including 3 by an innings is unacceptable. Even 2 of the draws were very much losing draws. Can see the current game being another innings defeat as well. One day tournaments haven't been much better either. Thought they might be in with a sniff in the One Day Cup as didn't seem to lose many players to the Hundred but flopped in that too.
Just flicked back up this thread to rewatch that Jordan Cox 'catch' and to think that was just 3 years ago. Time to give Darren Stevens a call
