Leeds Away

Cannot wait for this!...I've got mates at Leeds Uni and we'll do most of the week up there! Can't wait for the fixture list to come out now!!!

Leeds Away

I'll bee there
Can't wait the fixtures to come out so I can book my early and therefore cheap train ticket

Leeds Away

Wild Police horses couldn't drag me away.

Never thought i'd be so delighted at Millwall's success!

Leeds Away

marvellous, we will have DOZENS there! i might get a leeds season ticket just to make sure. fancy dress yeah? :cutthecrap:

Leeds Away

I'll definitely go if it's a weekend / bank holiday game. Been there before and scored a penalty in front of 35,000 plus fans (a charity thing). Then sat in the main stand and watched them lose to Oldham. It was the most hateful atmospheres that I have ever experienced at a football match. You could literally feel the hatred being generated all around the stadium. Having said that the hospitality of Leeds United was better than first class.

Alan D.
The only "Bee" to have scored at Elland Road in the last 60 years...shocking record for the club...heads will roll. I hope Dyke is wringing his hands right now. :banghead:

Has this been confirmed as the last "away" of the season.
I hope BU are writing to the Football league to request it, before June 17th...no point complaining if it is drawn on a cold, wet Tuesday evening in Feb, if we didnt get off our arses now. :sorted:

I am organising a facebook group, to ensure this top 2 game, is scheduled for May....or late April. :hat: :owusu:

New ground to see the Bees at and team to be crossed off the list.

Went with a Leeds supporting school mate about 30 years ago. 1-1 draw against Fulscum.

Both the Fulscum away supporters were giving it large from the train as it went near the ground, they were as quiet as church mice inside.

Kid called Tommy Wright (no not that one) scored on his debut for Leeds

Leeds Away

I've been to Elland Road twice as an away fan. It's like Huddersfield but a 100 times worse.:sorted:

Leeds Away

I went to see Leeds v Forest at Elland rd season before last. Pretty effing loud in the ground, and it would be seriously worth trying to take enough of us to get behind the goal.
Scummy area, but there is a bus that goes straight to it, or a cab doesn't cost too much from the station. Some very good pubs in Leeds city centre - would be daft to go elsewhere to drink.
Catering was poor - didn't have any veg options. Ended up with a serious poo inducing cornish pasty.
Match was rubbish.

Leeds Away

nocoat and I stayed in Leeds on a Friday night before the game against Barnsley five years ago and drank his northern monkey mates under the table even though we had been on the sauce all day. A good night out.

Leeds Away

indeed, went there with a couple of suspect GPG'ers (one even wore a blazer !!) after Donny away a couple of seasons back. Loving the filthy northern birds.

This is a weekend away without doubt :sorted:

George McLeod, League Cup tie in 1961. Leeds lowest ever home crowd for a first team competitive fixture.

Is there anything you don't know ?

Who will we play in the Kevin O'Connor testimonial Game on July 28th ?

:fishing::fishing::fishing: :itk:itk: :marbles:

Leeds Away

When are the early train tickets out ?

Anyone up for a curry in Akbars ?

Where are we drinking, I am thinking Sheffield....

Visited the university there as well as Leeds, and Sheffield as a town wins hands down, so I chose to go there!

Can't wait for this fixture regardless of whether I go to Sheffield or not. :fishing:

Tis true. Those were the days when I could drink. Halcyon days

Leeds Away

Anyone else thinking of flying to this? Cheap flights available from Gatwick to Leeds Bradford for as little as £20!

Leeds Away

This is train trip unless you are already booked on the double decker

Leeds Away

What about the club doing a special deal on coaches for this game and getting as many Bees there as possible. 3000 bees in Elland Rd!!!!

Bees Bees Barmy Army

They'll probably be loads of cheap Bus/coach tickets with National Express as well.

btw if any of the lovely people who compile the fixtures read the GPG please don't put it in august or september early september - only dates I won't be able to make:prayingsmilie:

Leeds Away

It is a must really these sort of opportunities dont come along very often!

:wave::wave:
Cannot wait for this one of my nearest games except for Farlisle and Coldham.
I do hope it is in August or April:cool::cool:

Leeds Away

I can't wait until 17th June when the fixtures are released as this will be the first one that I hunt for. Everyone should try there best to make this one

Leeds Away

Mega bus is even cheaper, London to Leeds often cheap. Wife from Leeds, two children went to Uni there, daughter a doctor at Leeds General, might be useful when staying with outlaws. Lots to do for a weekend, try Roundhay Park.

Leeds Away

I will walkk there in only flip flops if required. I am not missing the opportunity of seeing the bees win at Elland Road!!!!!

Leeds Away

Weren't we also the opposition for Liverpool's?

Yes. 9,092. Milk Cup 2nd round 2nd leg 1983. Barely half the crowd we managed to attract at GP for the 1st leg.

The conclusion that I draw from this is that we are twice as big as Liverpool :)

Leeds Away

Don't forget you are thinking as a fan who travels, we took ages to sell out Muff etc etc, there will be less there than we all think.

no way man  everyone's excited, we'll get 3000 there

Leeds Away

if this is on a saturday we will take 2,200.

Can't speak for anybody else but for me it will be the first time in my lifetime that we will have played them

Come on Spuds!! as one of the "Dead inside" duffers  who criticised the pitch invasion (the 2nd one) vs Luton, even I'm hugely hyped up for this one!!

I'll be there, but then again, it is a home game for me.

NLB - there are a lot of Bees around Leeds and I'm sure a fair number at the universities (I remember seeing a couple of Bees shirts while watching the WC QF against Portugal at the Skyrack).

Akbars and Aagrah in the centre of town are very good curry restaurants, but they are both a bit smart and not really the place to go if you look like a beered up football fan. Shabab on the Headrow is probably a better bet for sticky carpet and cheap buffet. The more civilised should go to Anthony's Brasserie in the Corn Exchange - excellent steaks etc from a leading chef in a spectacular building at chain restaurant prices. Handy for all the bars around the Calls.

I'd hope that the turnout shouldn't be too far down if it is a midweek game - you could make kick off if you caught a train at 5pm from Kings X and the returns run plenty late enough to get back to London.

Oh yes, cant wait for this game. My best mate lives in Leeds so iv got my B+B sorted and im actually quite good friends with Jermaine Beckford, will be interesting if hes still there!!!

Leeds Away

My son has just spent three years at uni in Leeds and loved the place and can't wait to go back now with the added bonus of seeing our beloved Bees. Great city for pubs, clubs and resturants but the ground although very easy to reach is in a sh*te hole of a place surrounded by very bleak industrial estates and some poor housing areas. You won't want to walk around that place on your own or in very small groups.

If you want to walk around the place .....do it with me....I live 10 minutes from there !!!!!!!!!! Think I know whats what in Leeds :sorted:
